Let's say you won a jackpot and remained anonymous.

Now how do you stay anonymous?

We've seen people on the Lottery Changed My Life and Curse of the Lottery programs flaunt it, so how would you accomplish the opposite of that, but still enjoy the money?

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

                  I Agree!

But without anonymity, this may be the hardest part of winning a lottery jackpot outside of a smallish size.

You can also blend in. Whatever lifestyle you choose to live, do so in an area with that particular lifestyle. Don't build your McMansion in the old neighborhood. If you build your McMansion hidden out of sight back in the hills, don't take the Maserati to the grocery store in Podunk USA.

It comes down to common sense.

OK, let's say you move away.

You're probably going to buy a nice place to live in. Not too extavagant, but real nice.

Then someone is going to know who you are and what you do or did.

I was thinking of a "cover story" something like you made a lot of money in mail order, just selling information, but then the internet came along and really slowed that business down.

                    Something like that.

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

No need for a cover story at all . Its your businesses and Life !!  You don't have to share any information if you don't want too .. That simple ...

I guess it depends on the size of the jackpot as to how much of a low profile you will need but I will do the interview at the lottery and that is it.  Because you can not remain anonymous in oregon and I know how to tell people no.  So all I need to do now is win the lottery and I would be happy with a small jackpot just as I would be happy with a big one.  Most of my life I have been on a lower income level then most $20,000 a year is what I make so I could see myself loving a small jackpot or big one just the same.  I would not lose much sleep over which one I had won just as long as I get to get one for myself in this lifetime.-weshar75

Don't mention it.  If asked how you can afford a car like that, just smile.   With friends and family it's a little different, invest in something you can say you made your money in, if you are worried about saying lotto.  Some people do get that strange look on their face when they think you have free money thinking you'd be willing to share or invest in their vision of a hardware store boat wash and bar.

If you move to a neighborhood where every one has a nice house and drive nice cars, no one will notice if you have the same things.
