I know Ronnie316 won't see this post but maybe someone will relay my congratulations to him on his beating those 1 in 3 odds of matching 4 of 5 from a subset of 39. That's right. This can only be expected to happen about once every three draws! In fact, if he's patient, he can expect to hit 5 of 5 about once every nine draws. This is hard work, but I'm sure he can handle it.
And here's a little secret someone should pass on to him. If he really wants to impress people, he should up his subset size to 49. If he does, he will almost always hit 5 of 5 Jackpot matches about three out of every eight draws! Then, he can really be proud! Right?

Welcome to LP, KING2B!
Just curious, how many games do you play per draw, and what wheels do you use?
Hi LottoBoner and thanks, Sorry for the late response. My group plays 55 tickets per draw ( $110.00/draw). I use my own system based on the history of all the numbers drawn since the the beginning of 649 back in June, 12, 1982.

Did you mean you always get the last 2 numbers drawn or you always match at least 2?
We have a 649 game in Ohio too and it seldom that I don't match 2 at least once when I play, but the odds of matching 2 are 1:8 and I usually play 10 lines so I figured it wasn't worth bragging about since it doesn't pay anything.
We've only had 951 drawings, so the game hasn't run long enough to expect combinations of six to repeat. Even when its combinations are combined with the combinations of the old Super Lotto(6/49+1) of a few years earlier there has never been a repeat combination of six although several combinations of five have repeated.
In 2002 I matched 5of6 in the old Super Lotto and that was the best I've ever done in any lottery. That's the only reason I still play the game even though I usually win a larger percentage of my money back playing MM.
Hi RJOh, Sorry for the late reply, On average, 1 in 3 draws or better, we do match the last 2 numbers. So in other words, if I can hit the first 4 numbers only, that would give me a 1 in 3 chance or better at the jackpot. Each term that we play is 26 draws (13weeks), so after spending $2860.00 to play, we will win between 500.00 to 900.00 every term. We also come dangerously close to the jackpot at least twice every term, and even more so with some of the smaller cash prizes. So to me I think its inevitable to win something very significant a lot sooner than for most people.

If you are playing numbers based on past results then clearly you did NOT begin posting here so you could hear all the gruesome details about "Gamblers Fallacy" or "Innumeracy"? I'm just wondering for jimmy's sake how you will feel about being called a "Blithering Idiot"? Or perhaps a "Fraud and a Troll"?
Just wonder because like you I believe in creative ability, predictive powers, and positive energy. Along with a few other things like a brain that can think, and encouraging people to follow their dreams.
This could be the longest post Ive ever created on LP?........

Welcome to LP my friend.
A649KING2B,
If you look back at a sampling of my posts I think you will quickly get a feel for my style, and it's nowhere near what Ronnie316 would like you to believe. Based on your calm and methodical approach to the 6/49 game, I think you might have seen a few posts in this thread that appear to be authored by a "blithering idiot." Since I've been called a "Troll" and I'm not sure what they mean by that here, for me to describe someone with the term would put me in the category of "blithering idiot" myself. As for "Fraud." I don't believe I've ever used that word to describe anyone here. What I have alluded to is the possibility that some people here might have a vested interest in propagating Innumeracy.
Your approach to a game with large jackpot potential is an intelligent one. Many have complained about the huge jackpot games like 6/49, Powerball and Megamillions on the grounds that the pots are too large and would be better for the public if they were structured with smaller. more numerous wins. You are accomplishing this yourself through your group. It sounds like you've worked this out in detail so I trust you have an iron-clad written contract with all the members to avoid court battles in the event of a big win.
Your honest disclosure of your average 25% lower tier returns is refreshing. (Ronnie316 should take note.) The fact that you don't complain about this tells me you understand the odds and that this is to be expected. Regardless of your selection methods, even though your ROI is the same, you and your friends have a much better chance of hitting a big one than most of us playing individually with less than 1/10 of your capital.
As a word of encouragement, a relative of mine administered a lottery group of 13 people for quite a few years. Although his tickets were all random selections, they were persistent, and finally, they hit for $20 Million! They all ended up with about $1 Million each after taxes.

Thats ok king!
It should be a matter of general knowledge by now that a reply to any LP posts is within a measure of delayed gratification.
That is quite a lot per draw! I like to average out at about 6 games, or 6 dollars per draw. However my insatiable fear often cause me to go over budget to at most 20 bucks per draw. KIM, More lines is not always better!
