Is it wrong for man to be what he wants to be? To be free from slavery?  Freedom is a great thing.

We are free because we pay taxes Ronnie do not forget that.

If I get my money's worth I won't complain but that will never happen. I've seen so much fraud, abuse, and waste when I was in the US military. They burn off the tax money.

I don't think there is any problem or wrong with paying any taxes but what the goverment does with it, that is the problem. That is the wrong part.

Thank you rdgrnr !!! I agree its not long now ...

            You're welcome, KeKe.

I like the way Johnny Cash said it too:

There's a Man goin' 'round takin' names

And He decides who to free and who to blame

Everybody won't be treated all the same

There'll be a golden ladder reaching down

            When the Man comes around

The hairs on your arm will stand up

At the terror in each sip and each sup

Will you partake of that last offered cup?

Or disappear into the potter's ground?

            When the Man comes around

Hear the trumpets, hear the pipers

            One hundred million angels singing

            Multitudes are marching

            To the big kettle drum

            Voices calling, voices crying

Some are born and some are dying

It's Alpha and Omega's Kingdom Come

The virgins are all trimming their wicks

The whirlwind is in the thorntree

Til Armageddon, no shalom, no shalom

Then the Father hen will call his chickens home

The wise men will bow down before the throne

And at his feet they'll cast their golden crowns

            When the Man comes around

Whoever is unjust, let him be unjust still

Whoever is righteous, let him be righteous still

Whoever is filthy, let him be filthy still

Aside from being more progressive nations, I believe these governments structure the cost of their lottery products to include the "tax" at

the point of purchase. Smart idea, why can't we do something along these lines as well.  What?

It's very disappointing to hear about a player who wins $1 million, only to walk away with about $400,000-450,000 or so.

In fact it's more than disappointing, it SUCKS!!!     Let It All Out

                    mcginnijn56,

Savage Goose once posted that the Australian lotto works like this, the ticket price is $1.03 AUS, the $.03 pays the tax for the winner. i.e., it's pre-paid.

Also, the playslips have a box you can mark, NFP, Not For Publication. i.e., built in anonynimity.

I think that should be the model for all other lotteries!

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

                    Lep

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

We should definitely do that here. Who couldn't get behind the idea of having the losers pay the winners' taxes for them?

It's a nice concept but, do you honestly think the government would ever consider it ? Every time someone wins the power ball or some big game, it's like they win to from getting like half the money back !!! So I doubt they would want to give that up.

If I get my money's worth I won't complain but that will never happen. I've seen so much fraud, abuse, and waste when I was in the US military. They burn off the tax money.
