Remember if you are paying overdue bills (cars, homes, heat), if the person is out of a job, they will be in the same situation soon enough again. Remember you can give someone a fish or teach them how to fish.

I am a big fan of the Salvation Army and they make the most of every dollar. They pay their full time workers very little and they gladly take those jobs (those who are in the "army.") And there are dog and cat rescue groups who go into kill shelters weekly and try to handpick a few to save and get to a foster.  I know the head of an org. that does that and I will never forget her telling me about seeing dead "torties" in a trashcan.

      J'aime La France.

Part of my jackpot plan is to create an oasis for pets in need of a home.  I LOVE animals.  Granted, I could not take care of ALL of the animals in the world that need homes, I would create an animal sanctuary.  If I won this PB, I would have approximately $200k per year for me and my family if that (living modestly), $100k per year for savings and $100k per year for my animal sanctuary.  I love the movie We Bought A Zoo.  That's my dream.  That's only $4 million dollars per year of the estimated $4.62.  Any excess would go to family, friends and charity.  My $200k per year would involve travel and regular living expenses.  That's 3x as much money as we bring in as a family now, more than enough to live calculated based on a projected 70 years of life remaining.

I give more than I can really afford to throughout the year, but I would give away a very large portion of the money if I won, if not the majority of it.

            Some specific things I'd do:

            - buy properties for all of the nonprofits myself and my friends work with, so they could afford to hire more people and do more good.

            - start a shelter for LGBT women under 21, and offer drop-in services for queer women 21+

            - start a scholarship for foster kids at the college I attend

I would try to do as much good with the money as possible.

If none of the generous players who has posted what  they plan do for everyone if they win don't win the jackpot tonight, it will be a sad day for almost everyone except the winners.

True, but some will miss the money they spent on tickets.

Rats are delicious, much like chicken.

Creek water is just like Poland Springs water.

Always wanted to get my own man-cave!    Banana

What more is there to ask for.  What?
