If you knew you won the jackpot why bother going to a store to have it checked?  It would only alert a lot of people of your business before you had a chance to secure the ticket and make arrangement to visit lottery headquarters for the official verification process.

But then again, I am also one of those silly "wants to remain anonymous" types!

    No way i would let someone touch that ticket. My luck, some clerk eating popeyes chicken behind the counter would soak it in grease and make the ticket invalid.

      Oh just to double make sure...I mean can you ever be too sure of something?? How many people would it alert?? I mean really how many if it's just you and maybe two other people than the clerk in the store??  i mean I wouldnt have it checked there if there was twenty or so people milling around LOL

          No way, I wouldn't want the clerk to know... also, there's hidden cameras everywhere,  I wouldn't want to be exposed like that

            Not a chance.  I use the self scanner to check my tickets and if I suspected I had the big winner due to a weird message "to see the retailer" I would go out to my car and check the numbers one by one.
