Ealier this week I stopped by Gilberts Hardware & General Store. It's connected to a Porter Paints/Lumber yard on the corner of Marion Cty 225A/CR326.
They have some wacky hours (830-600) and coming from Gainesville from work I couldn't make it in time to see what they had.
On Monday I got there early enough. To my surprise, they had 100X tickets. It was on number 23. The roll number was 1-061-ish. But since they were closing I decided to put it off until I could come back on my day off and chase if I needed.
So I came back on Friday. And they were still on number 23. See, if there's a big prize to be had somewhere it's going to come from an area that doesn't get a lot of traffic. They do get customers, just not the ones that go for the $25 tickets.
They don't have an ATM either so I had to go down the street. I took out $200 hoping that would get me through the roll in the hopes of finding something decent.
The results:
I don't remember the ticket numbers, but the order of the wins were $25, $30, $25, $50, $30, and $100. So invested $425, got back $260 and lost $160. While this sucks, it doesn't suck as much as it normally would. I guess I made the decision I was going to try and play the whole roll since it had been sitting there for who knows how long. And 6 out of 17 with 61% back I can't really complain. Would have really liked to have seen something more there, even a $500 would be nice (I've never won more than $150 on a scratcher).
Don't think I'm going to chase for awhile since I've got other commitments at the moment. But it was fun to try today.
