I wouldn't buy a book of the new $5 ticket. The likely result is $105/$300.
Personally, I'd recommend buying random $20 Gold Rush Doubler, or $20 Flamingo tickets. With the $20 Flamingo game, there's less than 400k tickets across the state, and still one $5M prize out there. Although you're likely to turn that $300 into $100-$150, your odds of hitting something truly life changing is greater on that game.
@ Bke - Honestly, tough to say. The last $5M prize can appear almost anywhere in the mid 700k range to the end of print 853xxx (or as high as it goes). At this point, I'd say it is worth buying any $20 Flamingo tickets in the 700k-850k range. The last $5M appeared around 600k, with the previous being at 550k. That abnormally small gap makes me think the game is going to stretch out the last $5M prize, and personally I expect it to appear in the 800k-850k range. As far as the $20 Monopoly, I'd target 280k+.
@ wbright - I agree, the $20 Gold Rush Doubler can generally suck. I've had absolutely horrible luck with that game as well. Sure, I've gotten two or three $500 winners. I'd assume I probably put in at least $500-$1000 more than what I got back. For anyone buying a book of tickets, this one offers the best odds of profiting since 1 in 6 books will have a $500 winner and will then yield a profit.
@ FreeSpirit - You might be alone there bud, haha. I've probably bought 20-30 $2 Loteria tickets, and found 0 winners. I think I bought 10 in a row one time, and $0 back. Perhaps I just got very unlucky, but that's one $2 game I have no desire to play. I agree with you and wbright that the $25 World Class ticket seems to suck at the moment. I'm still surprised to only see one $1M prize claimed. This will likely change tomorrow.
