I'd expect that any bill to allow winners to remain anonymous will only apply to drawings after the bill takes effect. Even if the law is written to apply retroactively to  winners who haven't come forward yet, it's possible that it could be successfully challenged by somebody who wants the information. If today's laws says that the information about winners of today's drawing is public information, then it's public information whether the state already has it or has to wait to get it.

Coin toss, sounds like the shift boss ruined it for everyone  else,

were they happy to hear he burned through the cash and had to get another job ?

    Haymaker,

No, not really, but he was known for playing Keno heavy and some said, "Told ya so" when he went back to work.

We'll call the shift boss "T" and there was a guy working for him at the first casino named Joe. T was always busting Joe's chops and Joe told him if he ever got the chance he'd pay him back and then some.

Flash forward a couple of years. T is workig as a floorman for - Joe! the shift boss! At this casino employes could play slot on their breaks. Well T hits a royal and they take his picture. The next morning when the day shift comes in Joe makes it a point to show the casino manager T's picture and says, "One of your floor people hit a royal last night." The casino manager says, "Well he doesn;t work for me anymore. You go tell him Joe."

    True story.

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

    Lep

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

      I think I would.

      Very interesting question!

I voted "depends" because when those legislators get together the results could be a watered down version and might not be worth waiting for.

Lottery tickets in Ohio has to have a claim filed within six months of the drawing.  After sixty day the cash option is no longer available for those tickets that have the annuity alternatives.

Knowing me and the lived ones around, the check will get cashed fast. I refuse to be tempted though. I wanna call lawyers and seek financial advice before anything. Not just got to the HQ the next day (Pedro) and claim it. That's a circus act right there. I would have to wait a week. Within that week of waiting, seek the best and professional advice out there to help me establish my future wealth.

By the way guys, would you choose the lump sum or annuity. Someone tell me if its true: if you take the annuity but God forbid past away, the money is all gone too?

Also, is the annuity a better option over the lump sun or vice versa?

Sorry for the typos, I'm always posting from my iPhone.

You would? If you waited a year in California there would be NOTHING to collect. MM & PB have a year limit to collect either jackpot winnings. Your winnings will be given to education projects which lm sure you would not mind while you left holding the bag.
                  This is a loaded question.

In Louisiana, we have 180 days to claim a big prize. In my state, a prize can be claimed using a trust, and that's how I would do it. I'd probably continue to live as I do now, in a small house, driving my 3 year old economy car, and just enjoying a quiet life. No big spending spree here. The only big purchase I'd make is probably a new car for my wife, but it won't be anything flashy. Her car is 12 years old and it's time she had a new one.
