That's a big freaking chance you'd be taking just not to have your pic in the paper....Cause if they wanted to screw you over it really wouldnt be hard especially since they singed the ticket and turned it in

Answer: you injured your hand & fingers on the job.You asking a "trusted" family member Not unless you feel there is no such thing as a trusted family member.
Its been said " Money reveals the true nature of a person".if you can't trust family whose left?-answer that.

Even if I knew a person I trusted 100%, I would still collect the money myself.

If I had a trusted person collect the money for me and I were to receive the money from the trusted person, they would have to worry about incurring a gift tax on top of the federal income tax.

If, heaven forbid, the trusted person were to die and they left me the lottery money. Then I would have to pay estate tax on the money.

Too many potential tax headaches for me. I'd collect my lottery money myself, then pay the 39.6% federal income tax and any state income tax that is applicable. This seems like the least complicated option for me.

                          .

No. Any money I win I would collect it myself. Maybe things will change and I will own a business and will need to keep personal income somewhat low so as to avoid rising to a higer tax bracket. When that happens I might reconsider my position on this Razz
