Wow, someone's really angry. Chill. Isn't this supposed to be for entertainment?

If I won that, the attorney would be called and set up a blind trust... even with that said, friends and family would soon catch on and maybe not be able to keep their mouth shut.  With that kind of money, you can't avoid all family... when they see you're living a multi million dollar estate all of a sudden and have a fleet of exotics, they can figure it out

I think with that kind of money, you don't make any big ticket purchases until after you claim it. This winner lives in a small town, if he/she suddenly started driving around in a lamborghini it would be a dead giveaway.

Every state I've lived in requires you to divulge your name to the public in order to claim the JP, so family (and everyone else) would find out sooner of later. No getting around that.

Im surprised no one is talking about how the states will keep the money if no one claims it.

Would it make you sick if there were a special draw night where the $590 million was up for grabs?

I think if I had to dwell on that possibility I'd lose my mind. Bang HeadSo I'd rather think that this person knows they still have 5 months left and they're getting their affairs in order.

Plus, I don't see why unclaimed money should be turned over to the states in the first place. They are already making billions (so they proudly state) from the lottery without needing the boost.

Why not add back into the PB pool. If in 5 months no one claims the $590M they should add it to the JP, whatever it is at that time. That would get people buzzing and buying again. Imagine the possibility of a $200M JP suddenly jumping to almost $800M. Talk about a windfall.

Dance That would really be something.

I Agree! Put the whole thing back in the jackpot.

Can we get a petition going to get this done? I'd sign.

Could you even imagine the implications? No longer would you have to have 20 - 30 rollovers to see a massive JP. Gets you that much closer to that elusive $1 billion possibility.

It may be that the states would have to decide state by state, making it harder to get every state in.

                      Dammit!

Oh well, it's still a pretty awesome dream to contemplate. A $590M infusion in the JP overnight. That would be so cool

You'd think that PB and MM could just change the rules saying from now on, the state the ticket was sold in may not claim it.  It will be added back to the JP and if you don't like it, then leave.

                            Zephirhills, Florida.

Every Publix in Florida that I've ever been to has a couple cameras at the lottery/customer service counter, so perhaps Publix is giving the winner their privacy.
