1 Million dollars wouldn't be enough for me to quit my job.

I retired on MUCH less than that, and VERY happy!

    1. Downsize!

    2. Live life!

I have lived 6 years of life. Very busy. You are MORE busy after retirement, than before.  I spend my life working for ME! I shop deals.

I would still have to keep working. Since after taxes are taken it it's much less money. It would be wonderful to win that amount of money but unfortunately it wouldn't afford me to stop working. The one good thing it would do is make it easier for the downtime at work when we have no projects until the next one comes along.

Even if I were to win the jackpot of Mega Millions or Powerball or Ohio Classic Lottery, I would not retire. I have a "job" that helps people and is not dangerous. So why would I quit helping people (help themselves...I say that since I would in no way extend anyone any of my winnings)? So I definitely would not stop working if I only won $1 million, which would be closer to $600k after federal and state taxes.

But I also would not be a workaholic in either case.  I would adopt the European vacation model of at least month long vacation (not as expensive as you might think...you just cannot do all-inclusive resorts or stay at 4 and 5 star hotels). But if I were to win the jackpot, I could stay anywhere I want to stay, travel there anyway I want to, and see all of the sights my eyes desire to see.  The only thing I would retire are my prescription eyeglasses and contact lens...LASIK, here I come!

Get MONEY!!! Winning a JACKPOT lottery is all the HOPE and CHANGE I desire!!!  NOW give me MONEY!US Flag

The guy who won the presidency in 2008 really won the lottery...he is now millions richer, travels in first class style, and even has a staff that would be the envy of the richest Powerball winner (she has a staff of 2). Every night he goes to sleep, he probably plays the close of Dave Chappelle's Show: I'm rich beyatch!

I'm surprised you included Ohio's Classic Lotto since you list Gurnee,Illinois as your home.  Do you travel across Indiana to play Classic Lotto in Ohio?  I never thought players were coming in from that far away.

I couldn't leave my job on a mil ticket.  It would take ten mil tickets before I'm set for life.

The lottery is NOT a tax on the poor.  By calling it a tax, you are calling it mandatory, which is what taxes are.  But the lottery is NOT mandatory, therefore calling it a tax highly inaccurate.
