I still play it in the lottery pool I run at work, but only play myself when it gets above $100 million.

Lottery players do not have time to breathe with these jackpot games. How can you play the lottery 4 times a week and only lose. Lottery players are tired of losing money. It is the reason why big jackpots are not exciting people anymore. Reality has set in. We can't win any significant prizes playing these jackpot games.

Used to try and play every draw. Now, I have played maybe 4 times and they were all when the jackpot was over $300,000,000.

Those were a couple months ago and haven't wanted to play again since then.

In the past, probably from 2003-2008, I played the lottery many times.  I think 2001 or 2002 was when I first joined this message forum.  It has been a couple years since I bought any lottery ticket.  I think the last time I played, it was powerball when each ticket was still only $1.  The only reason why I played at that time was because it was a group who played and I didn't want to be the one person who didn't play and miss out if the tickets had won a large amount of money.  With those kinds of odds (1 in 173 million), I don't think I would be lucky enough to win such a game.  I would not purchase a lottery ticket for $2 with those kinds of odds.  In all honesty, I would rather not play the lottery at all and live a normal life than win the lottery and have everyone just use me.  That is why if I ever did play a lottery again, it would be in a state where I can be anonymous.

Smart lottery winners form trust to claim their winnings.  They send an attorney to the lottery headquarters to claim the prize in trust, so that ONLY the name of the trust is revealed.  And they tell NO ONE, especially relatives.

If you ever win a lottery and you are single, the only person you should ever marry is someone who was truly in love with you BEFORE you won the jackpot!

I quit MM and moved that money to powerball.  Now, I may-be leaving powerball if more places start to win and not the same locations.
