Sorry, but I disagree. People care more about the end result than the opportunity. Otherwise they wouldn't play. If a lottery player never wins anything, not even a lower prize, do you seriously believe they will keep playing? Nope. Winning is what keeps them coming back. Same with casinos. There is no excitement, no return customer if they never win. They may enjoy trying to win, but that breaks down eventually— winning is what motivates most. I gamble. If I go to a casino, I go to win. If I have a good time in between, then great. If I'm not winning, I am not having a good time. I'm pretty sure most anyone who goes feels the same way (based on elevator conversations with losers). Who goes just for the action? Maybe you. - If the chances of winning the jackpot are so slim, why play when the jackpot is so small? Your chances never change, but the potential payoff does.

- I believe Joan Ginther ("world's luckiest woman") merely played lottery as a tax strategy. Evidence: zero prize claims through 10 years after her last Lotto Texas annuity payment!

Oh LottoMetro, you only demonstrate your ignorance, again. You don't understand why people play.

This may be why you're here trying to save people, trying to preach to people of the futility of playing lottery games where they have a negative expectation, yada yada. Such a broken record.

For the viewing audience:

LottoMetro believes he's smarter than everyone else because he only plays MM/PB when there is a positive expectation, and then only spends a dollar. LottoMetro always believes he's the smartest person in the room, and certainly smarter than anyone on Lotterypost. And LottoMetro is trying to tell you how dumb you are by playing games with less expected value like pick 3 compared to higher payout games like scratch games. LottoMetro wants to be your nanny and save you from making this fatal mistake in life.

There are a few casino games with a small enough house edge for a skilled player to gain an advantage, an advantage player. But with the lottery, the house edge is so large, that there is no advantage play in all but a few rare circumstances. People don't play the lottery because they have an advantage, they play for the chance to win, knowing the odds are against them, knowing the house has the edge. They know it and they don't need LottoMetro to tell them how to spend their hard earned money or which games to play to be as smart as LottoMetro.

yeah exactly, no one buys em cuz they think the schools need more funding, or sports clubs need a new baseball. we look at the risk/reward. as long as the costs stay down. and the rewards are so exceptional. its worth throwing away that buck/ $2 / $10 . what ever our poison is.

Yes, I do see myself winning. As a matter of fact, I'll even dare to be more blasphemous and say I see myself winning the Lottery at least 3 or more times. I know, I know...It sounds crazy! LOL. But I'm confident it's doable, especially if one can "bend the odds". I call it Looking For Neo.

If it's true that it's been done in the pick 3/4, then there's no excellent reason why it can't be done in the pick 5 and jackpot games, despite odds to the contrary. And if think I can do it, then I sincerely believe everyone has it within them to do it too. So in parting, I pray that we all Crack. LOL. Crack open as far as we can to bring forth a little more of what often lies partially untapped and half-buried within. Here's to Looking for Neo...
