I increase my odds by having a 1 in 100 chance to scratch a book of 100 tickets, something I would not otherwise do.

I make no profit off of the pool itself. Any profit I got would be after winning the pool, if I were to  be so lucky.

If you're buying 100 tickets with someone elses money and you get to scracth them all, how are you not profiting at everyone elses expense?

 * you don't need to buy more tickets, just buy a winning ticket *

Well Stack I see you still get you jollies by trying to vivisect other people's posts.

Must be awful to be that insecure.

I did read the article (duh, I posted it, nicht var?).

Most of the people I've seen trying to sell squares in pools are looking for think-they-know-it all chumps (gee that has a familiar ring to it) and are trying to get them to buy the worse squares.

And for your information, where sports betting is legal 13 run baseball pools are far more popular.

"Honest football poll squares" - hilarious as sports betting is legal in Nevada and no other state.

    No need to reply stack.

    Sad Wavey

"I did read the article (duh, I posted it, nicht var?)."

How does the fact you can copy and paste prove you actually read it?

And if you did read it, why did you say "Usually those who run such pools save the best squares for their friends and try to get others to buy the not so good squares." when the article clearly explained the numbers are drawn after the squares are filled?

"And for your information, where sports betting is legal 13 run baseball pools are far more popular."

The subject is about a scratch-off lottery ticket pool where football like squares will be used to determine the winner and you're talking about baseball pools. For your information, lottery games are not "sports betting" and amazing how you keep on bragging about your "dealer experience" yet don't even know the difference between lottery games and sports betting.

"Honest football poll squares" - hilarious as sports betting is legal in Nevada and no other state."

It's "sad" but not "hilarious" because the topic is scratch-off lottery tickets and you're confused and off on yet another tangent about your Vegas experiences.

    "No need to reply stack."

There is a need because you're you can't comprehend what the subject is.  And what's really sad, it's about the legalities of pooling $1000, purchasing 100 $10 scratch-offs, and you offer an unrelated article you probably didn't read because you contradicted it by insinuating the people running super bowl squares are cheating.

Do you have anything to add about the legalities of lottery scratch-off pools?

    No need to reply, CT.

I am not paying anyone. Just handing one a book of tickets to one of 100 people.

Don't pay any attention to Floyd because it's obvious he didn't pay attention when you explained your idea for a scratch-off pool. And CT believes it's a football square pool and only legal in Nevada. LOL

OK stack, I'll play one more time, only because your copy-cat 'no need to reply' displays your brilliant level of originality.

The article explained the numbers are drawn after the squares are filled in, yes, but you and the article are assuming an honestly run pool.

As for the 'subject at hand' it's quite ironic that you use that as a mantra since your 'subject at hand' is trying to rip apart other's posts.

Have a nice life stack, since you seem to think you know everything about everything in the universe. Enjoy your alternate reality.

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

I am buying 100 tickets with the exact amount collected in the pool, then awarding the pool winner with a book of UNSCRATCHED tickets. Why is this so hard to understand? They could win 1MIL and never tell me.

The topic is about group of people pooling money, holding a drawing, and the winner gets a book of scratch-off tickets. You're correct the article explains when the numbers are drawn, but it doesn't answer the legal question which happens to be the topic of this thread. When are going to finally figure out if Spin is planning on cheating by rigging the drawing like you're insinuating, the question of legality is totally irrelevant?

"As for the 'subject at hand' it's quite ironic that you use that as a mantra since your 'subject at hand' is trying to rip apart other's posts."

Admit it, you're still ticked off because I mentioned that people with more casino experience and credibility than you like Barney Vinson wrote books about what goes on behind the tables and a version of almost every story you tell can be found in one of these books.

It's not uncommon when people get older, to say they witnessed an event when they really just thought they did because they saw the replay several times (Joe Theisman's broken leg, the Challenger explosion, the Oswald shooting, etc).

Can you give an example of me "ripping apart" someone's post that was on topic or is it just something you "thought you saw"?

It's just bad timing because lots of people were talking about the Texas scam when you started this topic and it looks like some of them believe you created a scam too.

Your idea is certainly different than one person buying a roll of tickets and if you get enough people interested, probably something you could do a couple of times a year. It's similar to state lotteries with very successful raffle games, but still limit the number of raffles to only a couple of times a year.

Stack, I'm really not ticked off at all at someone like you who thinks having read a book is worth more than having worked at something for years. Doesn't say much at all for your credibility.

I've already told you a friend of mine knew Barney Vinson and Barney's real passion was writing Westerns, but people convinced him to write what he knew.

And FYI there is a lot in that book and a lot that casino people don't tell because if they did every wannabe hi-roller and skid would be showing up at casinos trying to take the shots that would be mentioned should they divulge such information.

I'll never reply to you again Stack, but know that you'll reply here just because you have to have the last word. No way you can win this one Stack, reply and you prove me right and not replying and getting the last word will drive you nuts.

Old age really becomes problematic for life-time BS artists because you have to pretend (notice I didn't say lie) I said something I never did to create an argument. Most of the people writing casino books are writing about their personal experiences and experiences of others told to them.

"I've already told you a friend of mine knew Barney Vinson and Barney's real passion was writing Westerns,"

Just based on Vinson's casino experience, lots of people personally knew him and probably thousands know someone who knew him. On a scale of "how about that" it's about the same as me playing Craps on the same table with Lawrence Taylor.

"I was in the Army hospital at Camp Zama, Japan the day the North Koreans captured the USS Pueblo and ironically on the DMZ in Korea the day they released the crew."

I don't see the irony and I'd ask you to point it out, but you said "I'll never reply to you again, Stack". I'd ask why anybody needs credibility to say they read something similar in a book, but I guess you won't be explaining that one either.

And speaking of irony, "the crew of the Pueblo Initially were treated relatively well, with good food and living accommodations, but their treatment turned harsher when the North Koreans realized that crewmen were secretly giving them the finger, which they explained as being a "Hawaiian good luck sign", in staged propaganda photos they had been taking of the crew."*

                      To all,
On Memorial Day on the Oliver North series War Stories one of the episodes was the USS Pueblo.
Members of the crew stated that the North Koreans started beating them with 2 X 4s soon after their capture. then it got a lot worse after the 'Hawaiian good luck sign 'photos.
But of course Stack will believe what someone poste on Wikipedia before he would anybody that was actually part of the crew said.

Stack will now tell us how well those interrogated by the SS in France were treated because after all they signed statement to that affect before they were released.

According to you with no source again. Now if you have any real quotes from any of the real crew members contradicting the the Wiki article, I'm sure those people would be interested.

You're saying the source you have is better than the one I gave a link to that anyone including you can check. And you're telling the LP membership to believe what you heard while watching TV as your evidence.

You still can explain why you called it "irony" or even the relevance of you being in a hospital because their isn't either. Didn't they tell you in dealer school the mark of a good con is the details?

                        "Stack will now tell us"

I quoted from an online article and gave a link and now you're telling us what you heard. Here is another quote from another online source: "Catch the 'War Stories Classic: The Pueblo Incident,' Monday, February 9 at 3 a.m. ET."  http://www.foxnews.com/on-air/war-stories/2009/02/06/american-heroes-cmdr-lloyd-bucher-and-crew-uss-pueblo

"Filled with the latest surveillance gear, she was retrofitted for a top secret operation — codenamed "Clickbeetle" — to spy on the Soviets and their satellites."

"how well those interrogated by the SS in France were treated because after all they signed statement to that affect before they were released."

Congratulations, you finally went so far off topic, you're making no sense!

                              mrcraft,

Yeah it was but sometimes when you're dealing with some people who are in an alternate reality you can only take so much.

Stack no tells us that actual testimonies of the crew members is 'no source'.

CT,,,,,,,as I have said all along....you can't fix gormless. Besides, when you get into a urinating contest with a skunk, you come out smelling like the skunk.
