No, no fever just wishful thinking.

Did you exchange a walk on part in the war ?

For a lead role in a cage?

Less fever the better, IMO.  If I win just another ho-hum, boring jackpot there is less chance of a media frenzy.

    Only $25 Million?  Who cares?!

I remember the days when the Mega Million and Powerball jackpots were over $400 million, and everybody and their grandma were buying tickets. The media was interviewing the hopefuls in line buying tickets. We all know hitting is a long shot, but it was the exciting around the whole thing that made it fun, Discussing what you would do if it was you who hit. Is it me or is it that the lottery has become kind of blah with the absence of the huge MM and Powerball jackpots? Do you miss jackpot fever?

I remember when those big jackpots were won many saying it would be nice if the jackpots were smaller with more winners. Now that second prize winners are getting a million dollars and the big jackpots are smaller and being won more often should make a lot of players happy.  There's still the chance that a big jackpot can happen, after all they happened when the odds of winning were better.

       * you don't need to buy more tickets, just buy a winning ticket *

"Only" $25 million would suit me fine too.  Taking the cash option and after taxes, that's still plenty.  And yes, hopefully that would mean little or no media and beggars/extortionists.

Interesting.....the longer we go without a huge jackpot the earlier in the day the Active Topics are mostly Pick 3/4.

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

          Lep

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

That be the problem RJOh? The second prize may be having people playing more frequently trying to win that then they did under the old payout?  Or maybe everybody has their certain point in which they deem the jackpot exciting enough to play for even if it's only at $20 million. I can't put my finger on it.

Yes, this has been a dull summer with respect to lottery jackpots.  Even our Scratchers aren't generating much excitement.

Although our Powerball 5/5 prize tonight is over $7 million, it's been rolling over for quite some time.  I'm in it tonight for PB until someone wins the 5/5 prize.

I like the excitement of the big jackpots and I love dreaming of winning that big sum!  I want to play for a big jackpot too, dang it!!! lol

And, my "lucky" jackpot amount is a little on the high side so I definitely want it to run so maybe it can hit that number and I can finally WIN!!! lol

The odds of hitting 5 of 5 in PB are 1:5,153,632.65 so it makes sense to go a little crazy tonite for anybody playing PB in Cali tonite. $7M?!  Eek

                      That money's gone fo ever

Jackpot Fever is exciting!  I wish they had a 2nd set of numbers drawn right after the 1st draw, kind of like a "2nd chance", but you know it would cost you any extra dollar and would be the same as buying 5 extra tickets I guess.

Sure, I miss the opportunity I guess.

I don't miss the conspiracy theories, whining, and most of the banter that comes along with it.

If the chances of winning the jackpot are so slim, why play when the jackpot is so small? Your chances never change, but the potential payoff does.
If a crystal ball showed you the future of the rest of your life, and in that future you will never win a jackpot, would you still play?
