OfflineStar Signposts: Week of First Quarter Moon May 25-June 1
First Quarter Moon
“Grizzly 760″ photograph by Daryl Hunter
I am re-posting this picture of our Grand Teton Grizzly 760. On May 26, we are holding a memorial in honor of his short but inspiring life. Thank you Cindy Campbell for starting his Facebook page the day we all learned of his untimely death and for creating this ceremony in his name (to be found on FB at 760: His Life, His Death). 760’s life has already touched and catalyzed many people to further protect the territory and lives of our still endangered Grizzly Bear populations. His mother, 610 with her two new coy, his grandmother, 399 and his siblings are still often seen roaming his homeland. Thank you Daryl for this captivating joyful photograph of 760.

In this week’s astrological cycle, we are launched into action by the First Quarter Moon. Also, remember Mercury is still retrograde till June 11, perhaps forcing many things to break so they can ultimately be fixed or replaced. And it might get more intense as now Mercury will join activist, agitating Mars. We are in some fiery times, and there is a good chance for more earthquakes and wild weather with this activating conjunction.
Here’s a list of the First Quarter Moon characteristics compliments of my friend/sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza.
“The First Quarter Moon of each lunar cycle draws an external stimulus to initiate action as we move from the inspirational quarter of the lunar cycle into the action quarter. Now is the time to drop all hesitation and take the steps to move forth on what you were inspired about. The inspiration is now gone, it is time to now participate in trust and knowing. Remember, the flower that is about to burst forth from the bud is not yet visible. Trust in the process. Demonstrate this trust in physical action and you will be supported. This time is stressful or traumatic only if action is ignored. What you are putting together now is the groundwork for the manifestation of the theme. Simply, this phase is a time to work.”
Please note: I make my posts according to the Lunar cycles as a way of helping you work with the natural flow of time and energy. Also, I base my interpretations and predictions on the true sidereal astronomical alignments.
~~~
Mon May 25
First Quarter Moon: The artistic and playful Leo Moon makes a catalyzing square with the earthy Taurus Sun. This is a fine combination for getting to work on your various art forms. It’s about buying the supplies, or if you already have the tools, it’s about picking up that brush or pen and begin the act of painting or writing. For you mechanical or design types, it’s about beautifying that vehicle or home. And for you nutritionists and health enthusiasts, realize how making healthy diet and exercise choices everyday naturally manifests in external beauty. Leo knows “in beauty, it is finished” as the wise Native American adage goes.
Venus in Gemini square Uranus in Pisces: This aspect can bring wonderful new friends into your life that are very different from you. It also brings up the need to have emotional conversations and talk through what’s really going on, finding your way back to forgiveness and compassion, while also giving you permission to detach for other people’s problems that are ultimately theirs to resolve.
Mars in Taurus squares Neptune in Aquarius: The theme of creative productivity is at play with this aspect. Neptune is a ruler of creative inspiration and Mars always speaks to our desire to act. The square aspect sometimes means you have to consciously choose to break of old patterns of inertia, and make better habits and choices.
Tue May 26
Mercury retrograde conjunct Mars: Although this aspect is exact in the overnight hours tonight and will reverberate all through this week, I thought it’s good to give fair warning about this in advance. This aspect is sure to spark much needed emotional honesty as well as passionate conversations about what you currently most care about, be that a cause, or simply sharing time with a beloved. Globally, this aspect is about caring for our sacred beauty-filled Earth and will spawn all kinds of new ideas for actions going forward. Remember, it’s not till after June 11 when Mercury goes direct that you might consider launching the ideas hatched today. Keep the conversations on-going.
Wed May 27
Moon in Virgo opposite Vesta in Pisces: The Virgo Moon represents our more discriminating side, meaning we can literally be overly critical and discriminate against others, or just find ourselves becoming more discerning in our choices. Vesta in compassionate Pisces encourages us to focus on what’s really going on at the deepest feeling level. This can help us not be needlessly judgmental.
Venus in Gemini trine Chiron in Aquarius: This is a delightful pairing of our heart energy, Venus, in communicative Gemini, in a supportive trine to Chiron in Aquarius, which encourages us to be vulnerable with our friends and community members. Excellent day for taking a friend to lunch or going for a walk, or going for a drive with one of your favorite elders.
Thu May 28
Virgo Moon conjunct North Node: This monthly rendezvous of the health, service-oriented Virgo Moon with the North Node (ruler of your future destiny) can activate the need to make an important choice about where you want to go next. Think of gently eliminating one thing that causes you stress, be that a type of food, beverage, way of relating/thinking, and consciously replace it with a healthier choice. Taking it one step at a time is sometimes a good option when we are trying to make permanent shifts.
Virgo Moon square Pluto in Sagittarius: This aspect builds late into the night and overnight and can create a bit of emotional obsession within you. You can channel this into constructive late night activity if you are a night-owl, but you also might remind yourself that calming breathe and meditation are other tools to deal with obsessive over-thinking.
Fri May 29
Virgo Moon square Venus in Gemini opposite Uranus in Pisces: This T-Square aspect can be both confrontative and creative, as that’s the nature of the square aspect. Venus in Gemini loves to keep it light, Virgo Moon likes to go deeper into a matter, and Uranus in Pisces sparks out-of-the-blue solutions and a thawing of stubborn judgmental hearts. All in all, this alignment bodes well for conversing on many levels at once, honoring both what we think we should do and what we feel like doing.
And it’s the Gibbous Moon. Again, this from Nick:
“This phase brings a strong desire to connect and involve with others. The outer and opposite is alluring. It is a time of exploration and involvement with others. Flowers not only blossom to reveal their beauty, but their functional purpose is to provide the pollination required to bear fruit. This interaction brings clarity of purpose and builds into the enthusiastic energy required for fulfillment. Communication and intermixing of energies is highlighted. The purpose is to be of value to each other, stimulating creativity. Share your vision and direction, what you have been working on. The 3 1/2-day Pollinating Phase is a social time, which will culminate on the Full Moon.
The 24-hour period just before the Gibbous Moon is a time of perseverance, of pushing through in the midst of the action quarter of the lunar cycle. The Gibbous Moon is when the pressure releases and we enter the Pollinating Phase of the lunar cycle, which begins a social and communicative time of magnetic attraction.”
Sat May 30
Mercury retrograde square Neptune: As this planetary interaction takes place in the middle of the night, you might awaken confused or inspired having been given a life-changing dream. Check your calendar for the day ahead: this energy can manifest as forgetfulness or just feeling a bit fuzzy in your head. Mercury/Neptune alignments tend to be better for right-brain creative activities versus analytical left-brain focusing.
Mercury retrograde conjunct Sun in sidereal Taurus: Next mental Mercury makes an exact conjunction with our illuminating Sun and something might become exceptionally clear that you have not been able to articulate before. They align with Aldebaran, a royal star linked to political players and politics in general, so watch the world stage today for all kinds of fireworks, some constructive, some very destructive.
Sun May 31
Sun in Taurus square Neptune in Aquarius: This quarterly aspect can make for a day of pushing through, following through on the next important step of a creative project. This alignment can also bring to light some kind of deception, or way you are deceiving yourself, and help you see with a clearer eye and heart, providing you aren’t choosing to stay in denial. Neptune rules both our higher calling to forgive while also not allowing ourselves to live in fantasy that is clearly failing us. Pay attention to the clues your body is giving you as you learn to trust your more intuitive way of knowing.
Moon in Libra square Jupiter/Juno in Cancer: This passing aspect can make for the need for a clarifying peace-making conversation with a beloved and also manifest as making important decisions regarding family matters.
Juno in Cancer trine Uranus in Pisces: This longer-range aspect can bring to completion processes and problems you have been needing to work out with beloveds or colleagues since early winter. The trine indicates things will resolve with a positive outcome, providing all parties did their work, were honest, took responsibility for their part, and were ready to release the past so as to more forward again.
Mon June 1
Moon/Saturn conjunct in Scorpio: This once-monthly heavy-duty alignment precedes our exciting Full Moon tomorrow. Saturn speaks to getting focused but also can feel like you are being controlled by outside forces. I am always reminded of how much my beloved dog Cola with her Scorpio Moon resisted her leash, every time. Makes me laugh and cry, all at once. When our emotional, feeling Moon enters the deep investigative waters of Scorpio you can temporarily feel more serious, a tad depressed, in need of privacy or intimate conversation with your closest person. Remember that wild dark thunderstorms are usually followed by fresher air, sunshine, and often, a rainbow.
Full Moon
“Vulture’s Eye” photo by Lyn Dalebout
The Vulture is known as Pluto’s bird, synonymous with purification, death, rebirth. Tuesday’s Full Moon is taking place as the Moon transits sidereal Scorpio, Pluto’s sign. This all makes for one of the most intense Full Moon events we might experience all year long. The Vulture is associated with the mythic Griffin who is a guardian of the mysteries of life and death and is also considered to be the avenger of the nature spirits (from the book “Animal Speak” by Ted Andrews). I imagine the nature spirits might be upset with many of our human activities. I believe they are working to help us wake up to be better stewards of our Earth as well as our personal physical bodies. This is a good week to pay attention to messages you may be receiving in regards to your health (or lack of), and the health of personal and planetary life support systems.
In addition to this exceptionally intense Full Moon, we will also experience a number of delightful supportive sextiles and trines this week. Nice!
Here is a brief synopsis of Full Moon characteristics that hold true to every Full Moon. Thank you Nick Anthony Fiorenza ~ lunarplanner.com
“The latter part of this phase, building up to the Full Moon, matures our efforts into vision and enthusiasm. It is the intermixing of opposites that creates the magic to bear the fruit of our passions. The day and night just before the Full Moon is the most potent, exhilarating energy—a dynamic social and alchemical time. The Full Moon marks the point of coition in the lunar cycle, the climax, the point of excitement, a time of celebration.
The day just after the Full Moon is a time to kick back and relax. It is a time for the realization of the theme to emerge, of what the activities of the first half of the lunar cycle, culminating into the enthusiasm of the Full Moon, are really about. Relax and allow this realization to occur. There is no need to force it as it surfaces on its own.”
Tue June 2
Full Moon ~ Taurus Sun opposite Scorpio Moon: Today’s Full Moon highlights the stars of Aldebaran, the eye of Taurus the Bull, and Antares, the red hot heart of the Scorpio the Scorpion. These stars are often linked to major political events and even nuclear, explosive events. Aldebaran pressures us to organize the infrastructure of our lives so it mirrors our deepest sense of purpose and how we are using our creative potential ~ Antares. It’s about making sure your physical life is in alignment with your spiritual values and creative goals. Give some thought to that idea today and be willing to examine everything. Mercury (still in retrograde until June 11) is also giving you messages about what you need to release and what new structures you need to create, choices you want to make, that will aid you in becoming more efficient, productive and healthy with less effort and struggle.
Grand Trine in Water ~ Uranus/Jupiter/Moon: This aspect might lend itself to emotional support coming from an unexpected place, like a new person showing up to lend a helping hand. Water signs are also linked to grieving, letting go, and of experiencing a deeper level of feeling than we have previously allowed ourselves to feel. Hopefully this trine functions more like a gentle cleansing rain as opposed to the deluges of recent days.
Wed Jun 3
Moon in Sagittarius conjunct Pallas Athene: As you integrate the effects of yesterday’s extra potent Full Moon, today’s alignment increases creative inspiration and is also great for planning, envisioning, brainstorming the future, Sagittarius’s realm.
Thu June 4
Moon/Pluto in Sagittarius square Uranus in Pisces: When the Moon, which governs our deepest memories, ingrained habits and also our intuition and instinct, makes a monthly alignment with transforming Pluto, you can find it easier to break a habit, or something might breakdown, and some of you will have an emotional breakthrough, quite literally seeing into your future life.
Venus in Cancer trine Vesta in Pisces: Venus currently transiting through sidereal Cancer for a few weeks can bring a new appreciation about old family members or give you permission to decide who you want to call family. The choice is always yours. The helpful trine to focused Vesta in compassionate Pisces can bring a supportive healing to family relations, including tribal affiliations. Borders can be crossed, walls taken down.
Fri June 5
Mars in Taurus sextile Jupiter in Cancer: I like the feel of this, especially given all the recent non-stop celestial and earthly ferocity. This aspect might manifest as good financial news on some front. For you gardeners and earth workers, you can feel a real sense of accomplishment today for your dedicated efforts of late.
Venus in Cancer trine Saturn in Scorpio: This aspect, too, often brings supportive financial energy into your life. A good day to balance the checkbook or rein in the family budget. Also today, you might find it easy to make a key decision you’ve been wishy-washy about.
Sun inconjunct Pluto: The inconjunct aspect speaks to the need to make some kind of subtle adjustment to a routine, a plan, a life direction. Think of the energy of a detour, like a re-routing opportunity that ultimately will work in your favor. Patience is required.
Sat June 6
Moon/Ceres conjunction in Capricorn: As the Moon often governs what we need to do, either by necessity or by an unconscious drive, when it makes a monthly alignment with Ceres ~ caregiving, nurturing ~ currently transiting responsible organized Capricorn, a few choices might arise.You will feel driven to organize your home or yard, you will be called upon to help an elder or mentor a young person, or you may have to be the grownup in the room.
Sun June 7
Sun in Taurus trine Moon in Capricorn: The Sun makes an annual conjunction with the star of Rigel in Orion, common in the charts of real estate moguls, commercial architects, builders and developers. Be one today: design your life in bold adventurous ways. The helpful trine to the ambitious Capricorn Moon gives us all a chance to redesign our life and life systems so they better match a more expansive vision of what we want our life to look like going forward. Today can be an extraordinarily productive day on all fronts.
Mon June 8
Sun in Taurus sextile Jupiter in Cancer: Here’s another delightful astrological configuration. Thankfully, we’ve had a number of them this week and this week ends on a high note. Similar in tone to Friday’s Mars/Jupiter sextile, the solar light of activation forms a stimulating sextile to the optimistic joyful energy of Jupiter. You may feel confident you have enough resources to splurge on something special that makes you happy. Go for it and give gratitude (Jupiter’s word) to the Universe for supporting you as well.
Moon/Neptune conjunction in Aquarius: This monthly merging of Neptune ~ creativity, spiritual inspiration, dreams ~ with the intuitive Moon taking place in visionary, community-minded Aquarius bodes well for supportive conversations with friends, breakthrough collaborations, a tangible recognition of being supported by your spirit Guides.
OfflineStar Signposts: Week of Last Quarter Moon June 9-15
Last Quarter Moon
“Earthheart” photo by Lyn Dalebout
This week, we will transit the Last Quarter Moon of this cycle. It can be helpful to re-read my previous Signposts if you want to remember what the focus of this SolLunar cycle was all about. In a nutshell, it has been the Taurus Moon of earthing our lives in a more grounded fashion/foundation. Thus my choice of this photo of an EarthHeart I came upon one day hiking. As Mercury has been in retrograde in Taurus during this SolLunar cycle, you may have been repeatedly triggered or pressured to make clear conscious choices (no more feigned unconsciousness). This week we move into the completion cycle of this phase as Mercury will go direct. And then spiritual creative Neptune will begin it’s lengthy retrograde.
Remember, too, that the Sun has been coming closer and closer in previous days to Mars, which always catalyzes conflict, revolution, activism and increased motivation. By the end of this week, they will make an exact alignment on Sunday. The question is this: What motivates you? When you wake up in the morning, what gets you out of bed? What drives you, makes you passionate, what motivates you to keep living? That’s the question I’ll continue to explore the following week as the next New SolLunar cycle begins, in lockstep with Mars.
Here is a description of the qualities of the Last Quarter Moon phase compliments of my friend Nick Anthony Fiorenza, lunarplanner.com.
“This phase completes with our Inner Needs surfacing to consciousness, to become aware of what is important to self and what is not. A sense of completion comes forth with a recognition that the past scenario has served its purpose and it is time to leave what is antiquated behind. Essentially a lesser self is what we will be shedding. It is now time to plow under the crops so they may become the fertilizer for the next cycle. This is a transformational time, a time for personal change. Step forth from old facades, and free yourself from past ways of participating in life. Knowing now what our Truth is, it is time to consciously live it. Doing so provides a choice for others to also live theirs. Not making the realized changes keeps ourselves bound in a circle of old patterns of growth; changing allows us to spiral to a new octave of experience—one that will eventually sprout in the next lunar cycle to come.”
Once again, I will be offering my Summer Solstice discounts on all astrological readings through the end of June. Please send me an email if that might be of interest to you! Thank you!
Tue June 9
Last Quarter Moon: Sun in Taurus square Moon/Chiron in Aquarius: Because the intuitive Moon is making a monthly conjunction with Chiron ~ the archetype of the wounded healer/shaman/artist ~ today’s last quarter square of Sun and Moon can be particularly challenging or creative depending on your current life circumstance. You might feel a bit wobbly today so be super conscious of activities/foods/herbs that ground you. Trust that what is happening is truly what is meant to be occurring. Navigate the present moment with faith, trust, and wonder. All is well and it really will work out for the best, in the long run, despite what might look like a temporary crisis. Break free of your own habitual patterns that no longer serve you.
Chiron in Aquarius squaring Pallas Athene in Scorpio: This aspect implies you may have to make adjustments to some strategy or plan you previously set in motion due to what’s actually happening on right now. We can make our plans, but sometimes Life has a greater, better plan. Stay present and be open to sudden shifts.
Wed June 10
Sun in Taurus sextile Uranus in Pisces: Sextiles tend to create positive spontaneous opportunities, so be open and spontaneous today! The earthy practical Sun in Taurus dances with experimental Uranus in creative Pisces, sparking intuitive insights and surprising courageous leaps of faith.
Moon/Vesta conjunct South Node in Pisces: This sky collaboration is sure to bring a profound emotional outburst or push you to focus on your feelings, especially if you have been avoiding feeling lately. The South Node is always linked to past traumas/life scenarios so today offers an opportunity to be released from past grievances, but not without shedding a few tears in the process.
Thu June 11
Mercury goes direct: ! Yes, it’s always exclamation point time when a planet completes it’s retrograde cycle, which simply means you may have had to go inward and reevaluate key aspects of your life plan. Now we can all move forward with the next step with a renewed clarity of vision. If things have been stalled in the past three weeks, like loan applications, missing mail, even your vehicle, things will now shift gears from neutral to GO.
Sun opposite Pallas Athene: And so it begins, your next life strategy or organizational plan. Give some thought to that today.
Mars in Taurus square Chiron in Aquarius: This aspect might bring to the surface smoldering conflicts between men or with your man. Or this sky dynamic will spawn conversation about healing the wounds to the collective masculine, and also encourage vulnerability in our male populations. Lastly, as Aquarius rules our friendships, this aspect can lead to a sensitive revealing conversation about what’s really going on with a friendship.
Moon/Uranus conjunct in Pisces: Grieving past events may continue under this alignment or just be a-okay to be a puddle of emotion as you tap into a global sense of compassion for all those suffering at this time on our sacred spaceship of Earth.
Fri June 12
Neptune goes retrograde: This annual reversal of Neptune heading into retrograde (from the perspective of Earth) until November 18 2015 marks a time for internal review or private creation surrounding your artistic projects, your spiritual aspirations. The question is what is it you truly desire and what are the necessary steps you need to take to make your dreams come true? You may have already been sensing this strongly in the past three months and this retrograde cycle will encourage you to set in motion the steps to make it all real, eventually. Sometimes it takes longer than we would like for our ‘envisionings’ to happen in this denser earthly Field, so patience is required, and faith (Neptune’s gift) a necessary ingredient for eventual success.
Sun in Taurus square Chiron in Aquarius: When the Sun and Chiron dance together in a tense square, a healing crisis might be at hand or a completely magical unexplainable moment or event might appear out of nowhere. This is the realm of Chiron, our great magician, bringer of miracles and wise guide to our deepest healing. If you will allow yourself the gift of being vulnerable with a trusted friend or even a stranger, you can set in motion an even more authentic self expression of who you are NOW.
Moon in Aries square Venus in Cancer: Struggles may arise in key relationships surrounding the conflicting needs of freedom/ independence versus security, safety and control. You might experience some version of this tension today.
Sat June 13
Sun/Mars conjunction, exact tomorrow: I write about this as a warning, in hopes of alerting you to the potential for major warfare, enhanced aggravation with others or self, road/boat/plane rage, sudden bloody accidents. Sorry to be so blunt but all this is possible as the Sun makes it’s annual conjunction with Mars. I’ll be more positive in tomorrow’s post about this crucial powerful aspect! Read on.
Aries Moon square Jupiter/Juno in Cancer: This doesn’t help. The impulsive emotional Aries Moon squares off with Juno in family minded Cancer, surely sparking direct combat, the need for clarification around issues, or at best, a playful sparring amongst beloveds. Good luck navigating the ferocity of today and tomorrow.
Sun June 14
Sun/Mars conjunction in Taurus: Okay, we have arrived at the exact moment of this annual conjunction. It takes place around sunrise so many of you will arise extra early, get out the door for a long day of play and exercise and adventure. That would be an exceptionally positive use of this dynamic. Mars rules our physical vitality, our desire to speak our inner truth and take actions that express that, thus Mars rules activism. Mars rules our personal will, so battles of will may arise today in all sorts of relationships. Wear red if you want to enhance these attributes or wear and eat green if you know you need to chill! This aspect increases heat and inflammation in the body, so eating green cooling foods is a good choice.
Moon in Taurus opposite Saturn in Scorpio: This aspect can create a momentary financial tension in your life, like who might pick up the tab while eating out. Spend less, save more is the usual advice for this aspect.
Moon/Mercury conjunct in Taurus: This monthly alignment allows you to feel and integrate your heart and mind, allowing you to intuit what is truly in your best interest.
Mon June 15
Last day of SolLunar cycle: On the last day of a SolLunar cycle, the conventional astrological wisdom is rest, relax, play, take the day off, don’t push yourself. But that advice doesn’t apply today as the activating Sun is still conjunct action-oriented Mars. And the Moon is closing in by tomorrow’s New Moon. Use the energy of the last day of a dying lunar cycle to really push yourself through any linger procrastination and clear out the old, so you can be prepared for the exciting new SolLunar cycle in Gemini tomorrow.
OfflineStar Signposts: New SolLunar cycle in Gemini June 16-23
New Moon in Gemini
“Shadow and Light” photo by Lyn Dalebout
This New SolLunar cycle begins in in Gemini and conjuncts action-oriented Mars. Gemini is the sign of lovers, both inner and outer soul mates, of either feeling forever split between impossible options or finally finding a place of integration. Integration involves honoring both the shadow and light of how you are innately designed. It is part of our humanness. Perhaps you will find a greater space of peace and acceptance within yourself, for yourself, or for another, during this SolLunar cycle.
Jupiter and Venus, our two brightest planets, are getting closer and closer, reaching an exact conjunction early July. This is an exquisite sky spectacle not to be missed every night at the setting sun. And Jupiter and Uranus make a wondrous trine of completion on Monday.
This week also includes Father’s Day, linked to Summer Solstice. Blessings to all the loving devoted fathers and father-figures that bless and nurture our world in positive, necessary ways. They bring a much needed Light during these challenging, chaotic times.
Here’s a list of New Moon characteristics compliments of my friend/sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza ~ lunarplanner.com
“Beginning the Sprouting Phase of the Lunar Cycle, expressing a New Theme: A new theme emerges. A new idea, a new concept sprouts forth. This is an inner message, an impulse expressing from a field of all possibilities deep within the unconscious mind. Often this process is one of discovery, slowly revealing a simple theme over a day or two, or it may be quite clear and specific, a spontanious message, even suggesting a major life change. The New Moon is a perfect time for meditation or a quite walk—to go within self and listen. A simple word or phrase may pop into your mind during this quite time describing the new lunar theme in a way that is unique to you, or perhaps a simple feeling or knowing will come over you. The ability to listen, honor and trust the inner is all that is required at this time. The ideal time to attune to your New Moon theme is exactly as the New Moon occurs, or at sunrise after the New Moon if the New Moon occurred during the night.”
Tue June 16
New SolLunar cycle in Gemini: This coming four week period is extra hot, volatile, passionate and active, like a bubbling potentially reactive volcano. Will it/you explode or will you be able to keep finding ways to channel the stress and potency of this dynamic combination? A friend just wrote me today at the launch of this New Moon: “I am in the midst of a ‘take charge of your life and stop being a victim’ week.” Well said, and an excellent attitude as to how to approach this entire month, indeed, how to live life itself.
Juno enters sidereal Leo: This is exciting news in terms of joyful, creative partnerships suddenly entering your life or a return to more playfulness and possibility in your current key relationships. In recent months, Juno transited sidereal Cancer, the sign of family relationships, and you may have seen a profound reorganizing of your role and preferences in your family constellation. In addition, Cancer usually carries a certain amount of letting go, loss, and the ensuing grief that accompanies such losses. Now the mood can lighten and out of the death of the old, a personas and partners may emerge as you follow your bliss. Leo demands you follow your joy and your bliss.
Wed June 17
Mars in Gemini trine Juno in Leo: People can certainly become energized to explore internet dating sites or book a hiking/biking travel trip as a way of meeting potential beloveds/compatriots as Gemini loves travel and adventure and Mars encourages greater athleticism.
Gemini Moon trine Neptune in Aquarius: This very conversational, friendly and friendship oriented alignment is perfect for socializing with another, or in a group setting. You may find yourself happily spilling the beans about what’s really going on in your life.
Gemini Moon opposite Pluto in Sagittarius: In the evening, the emotional mood can become deeper and more obsessive with Pluto’s influence digging up unconscious terrain. Don’t be surprised by a sudden emotional swing that comes out of the blue. Explore the depths just below your surface emotion and find treasures.
Thu June 18
Moon in Gemini square Uranus in Pisces: A tension can arise today as the intellectualization of feeling (Gemini Moon) squares off with the empathy for all (Uranus in Pisces). It’s like wanting to sympathize with someone’s plight, but having plenty of well-reasoned reasons not to.
Mercury in Taurus trine North Node in Virgo: This aspect makes for a very solidly productive day, like really checking those to-do’s off your list so when you head to bed tonight everything is to-done.
Moon enters Cancer: This begins a two-day emotional shift where you can become instantly moody or need to rush home to nest and cocoon yourself. It’s also time to spruce up whatever your current home base may be. And given the upcoming conjunction with abundant Jupiter, you might splurge on a home-furnishing/cooking treats you’ve been longing for.
Fri June 19
Moon/Venus conjunct in Cancer opposite Ceres in Capricorn: You may need to focus on parental/family responsibilities by choice or by necessity, given the nature of these two signs. In addition, when Moon ~ your needs ~ and Venus ~ your wants ~ make a monthly conjunction, you can experience a deep harmony arising from within you, a feeling that everything is integrated (unlike the split psyche of the Gemini theme I’ve been talking about). Be sure to witness this triad of beauty tonight at dusk. You will see one bright planet, that’s Jupiter, and an even brighter one, that’s Venus, and the lovely crescent Moon nearby. You can use this divine portal of Love in very practical ways, too, by setting intentions, sending prayers, and most importantly, giving gratitude for all the good in your life.
Sat June 20
Moon/Jupiter conjunction: This aspect continues and amplifies what I wrote about in yesterday’s post. Re-read if you want to know what’s up.
Moon/Juno conjunction in Leo: Late at night and into tomorrow morning, this romantic configuration is great for cuddling, connection, even creative collaboration that comes out of partying late with your friends. It’s a joyful playful alignment and you just might decide to stay up all night and greet the dawn. When was the last time you did that or even wanted to? Don’t fight the urge if it presents itself. It is the longest day tomorrow and we need to soak of this cherished solar light for our energy batteries.
Sun June 21
Summer Solstice at 10:39 am MST: This Father’s Day holds a special celestial treat. It is aligned with our longest sunlit day in the Northern Hemisphere. I can not comprehend that we are halfway through 2015, but that is the celestial truth of the Sun reaching it’s northern most point and then beginning its turnaround tomorrow. I always feel a twinge of sadness about this heavenly fact and reality.
Leo Moon transits: The emotional Moon makes several notable alignments today. You might move through various emotional spaces and energies in reasonably rapid succession. Early in the day, Moon squares off serious Saturn, then squares mental Mercury in Taurus and lastly opposes imaginative Neptune. You may start your day feeling limited and trapped in your circumstance (Saturn), but slowly, slowly, you remember to shift your thoughts (Mercury), reaching for a more positive thought, which catalyzes the infinite power of your imagination (Neptune) to re-imagine your life.
Mon June 22
Jupiter trine Uranus: This heavenly aspect is considered to be one of the most positive alignments in astrology and is often found in the charts of our most innovative inventive citizens. Jupiter restores faith and Uranus sparks revolutionary, evolutionary solutions. Jupiter is almost done with its year long transit through Cancer and Uranus is currently inhabiting Pisces. Feel renewed confidence and take your own leap of faith today.
Tue June 23
Mercury in Taurus square Neptune in Aquarius: Remember our recent Mercury retrograde cycle that may have brought some challenging aspects and releases from your life? Today marks the completion square of mental Mercury to imaginative Neptune. You might want to ask yourself this: are my thoughts aligned with my greater dreams or am I still feeding the negative monkey-mind of fear, doubt, victimhood? You really do have a choice as to what floats through your head at any given moment. But you may have to get more committed about choosing a better thought so your life can flow more easily in the direction of your heart’s true guidance. The coming Jupiter/Venus conjunction will greatly enhance your ability to know what is your heart’s true guidance. Stay attuned.
WOW! I just finished reading June, 16.
Yesterday when I opened my mail, I found a purchase on my credit card for an overseas purchase.
I hit the roof, I had to call Chase only to find out my credit card had somehow been hacked, I don't have to pay, but I didn't need the stress.
I spent the rest of the day putting my focus on things around the house.
I look forward to reading your Star Signposts and Thank you for your time, energy and dedication.
For all you do Harve$t Moon.
First Quarter Moon
“Greek Spiral, Cappadocia, Turkey” photograph by Terry Tempest Williams
This week, we move into the First Quarter Moon of this SolLunar cycle, which means it’s time to set things in motion. Thank you beloved Terry for sharing your photograph of this compelling spiral. The spiral can be a fitting symbol for these times. Do you feel this awakening spiral of evolution in the circumstances of your own life, or do you, at times, feel you are spiraling out of control? Life can be a mix of both of these interpretations on any given day.
The spiral is an ancient symbol for so many things. Do some research or meditation on the spiral. I personally relate to the spiral as the merging of my physical body with my Lightbody. I feel the spiral of my ascension of my physical body as it gets Lighter, and I also feel the spiral of my descending spiritual Self getting more physical and embodied. I hope that makes some sort of sense! Essentially the infinity sign symbolizes the integration of the ascending and descending spirals. No wonder things can feel a bit disorienting at times as we navigate this historical evolutionary shift affecting every human, all of creation. Yes, it’s that big. Don’t forget you have some level of control of this process and remember to ground yourself when you feel the out of control spiral trying to take charge of you. Consider practices like qi gong, earthing by simple walking, yoga, or lying quietly on the cool green Earth.
Here’s a list of the First Quarter Moon characteristics compliments of my friend/sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza.
“The First Quarter Moon of each lunar cycle draws an external stimulus to initiate action as we move from the inspirational quarter of the lunar cycle into the action quarter. Now is the time to drop all hesitation and take the steps to move forth on what you were inspired about. The inspiration is now gone, it is time to now participate in trust and knowing. Remember, the flower that is about to burst forth from the bud is not yet visible. Trust in the process. Demonstrate this trust in physical action and you will be supported. This time is stressful or traumatic only if action is ignored. What you are putting together now is the groundwork for the manifestation of the theme. Simply, this phase is a time to work.”
Please note: I make my posts according to the Lunar cycles as a way of helping you work with the natural flow of time and energy. Also, I base my interpretations and predictions on the true sidereal astronomical alignments.
Wed June 24
First Quarter Moon: This alignment takes place just as you might be greeting the day. The productive Virgo Moon makes a manifesting square to the energized Sun/Mars conjunction in multitasking Gemini. Chances are you will get check many things off your life-list today. Remember there’s no need to rush through the day. Take pauses, long breathes, then move onto the next thing at hand. This way you will not feel depleted at the end of today, but energized by your accomplishments.
Moon in Virgo/North Node opposite Vesta in Pisces/South Node: This aspect carries the feeling of being freed up from an old focus/loss/grief that has been following you around for too long and gives you a nudge to make a conscious focused effort to move on. Your future life is beckoning so sense all you still want to be and do.
Thu June 25
Moon in Virgo sextile Venus/Jupiter in Cancer: This lovely aspect creates a feeling of a helping-hand showing up in regards to a home/garden project or in helping to plan an upcoming service for a beloved who has passed. That’s because we still have Jupiter completing the year long transit through sidereal Cancer ~ the passing of our Elders and also many other wise souls who completed their time, this time, on Earth.
Moon in Virgo squares Pluto then opposes Uranus: The organized, health-conscious Virgo Moon activates the seemingly never-ending Uranus/Pluto square that is still rapidly pushing us in the evolutionary spiral of awakening. On a day like today, you can get your next insight about what that means for you in terms of making healthier choices that support your positive growth. Or you might get a nudge from the physical dimension to pay attention so as to avoid spiraling out of control.
Venus in Cancer trine Pallas Athene in Scorpio: You might receive positive financial news about a potential loan to fix up your home, or feel a desire to re-organize a space so it’s both beautiful and efficient, or a source of unexpected funding for a creative project gracefully lands at your door.
Fri June 26
Moon in Libra trine Sun/Mars in Gemini: This fleeting feel-good trine sparks plenty of harmonious discussions and even peace-making all around.
Sat June 27
Sun in Gemini squares Lunar Nodes: The North and South Node of the Moon are conceptual points in the zodiac that indicate where we’ve come from (South) and where we are headed (North). The infinitely curious, friendly Gemini Sun is helping you turn a corner from what you focused on the past three months, to where you might want to be three months from now. Gemini also rules travel, reading, investigating, and the technological world. This is a good day to make travel plans, research a new tech tool that will support your future goals.
Sun June 28
Sun in Gemini square Vesta in Pisces: Vesta is all about being extremely focused or dedicated to a cause. She is also the goddess of hearth and home, and ruler our sacred sexuality. A complex archetype indeed. So with today’s illuminating Sun in a decision-making square to Vesta, any one of the above aspects might require some attention, encouraging you to inhabit a new way of being. The blessing of change, always a blessing.
Moon/Saturn in Scorpio square Juno conjunct Regulus: This aspect feels quite intense as I attune to what it possibly might mean for you readers. Juno is the ruler of our core relationships, be that a marriage partner, a business colleague, a dear friend. Today’s alignment of Juno with Regulus, the royal star dubbed the heart of the Lion, ensures the need to speak more honestly than ever before about our heart’s truth. In addition, the emotional Moon and serious Saturn in delving Scorpio can bring forth even a brutality of honesty, or that’s how it might feel. This is a turning point kind of day for many.
Mon June 29
Venus in Cancer trine Uranus in Pisces: Out of yesterday’s very honest discussions and realizations, this softer aspect is welcome news and will help integrate the shifts that are taking place within our familial relationships, which can include many others beyond your nuclear family.
Tue June 30
Grand Trine in Water~ Moon in Scorpio/Venus in Cancer/Uranus in Pisces: What a lovely way to end this phase of our current SolLunar cycle in preparation for tomorrow’s Full Moon. This aspect brings together what we need emotionally ~ Moon ~ with what we most desire ~ Venus ~ with diversity-appreciating Uranus. Water,the most life-sustaining element on Earth, is the element that allows us to be Beings of feeling and this aspect gives permission for all to connect with their deeper emotional Self.
Sun in Gemini trine Neptune in Aquarius: Neptune is the ruler of the dreamtime, our spiritual essence, our imagination. This aspect will happen overnight so you can expect an important dream tonight, if you so desire it, or you might feel uplifted about your life in general.
Full Moon
“SunFlower” photo by Lyn Dalebout
It’s important to note that whenever we have a Full Moon, we are also experiencing a fully illuminated Sun, a Full Sun. I believe the Sun responds to the Moon’s light just as the Moon’s light is triggered and evolved by it’s ever changing relationship to the Sun. They are in a primal relationship, a tandem evolutionary dance, that greatly influences we humans here on Earth. And when the Sun undergoes events like last week’s intense Solar Flares that translate to severe geomagnetic storms here on Earth (you can follow these events at http://www.spaceweather.com/) it is assured that we too are being accosted energetically to shift rapidly into a more evolved Self. This process can be suddenly eruptive to us, just as it is in the Sun. As above, so below. This can manifest to some as increased anxiety, massive uncertainty, intermittent outbursts of swearing, to name a few symptoms. At least, that was my experience last week! And let’s not forget outbursts of grief for so many as we navigate the accelerated transitions happening in and around us.
The Moon reveals our subconscious motivations and the Sun is associated with our conscious motivations. Each of us is a complex flux of these two equally powerful forces working on us at any given moment. At any Full SunMoon, like we will experience this week, each of us can gain a greater understanding of who we are and what is guiding us from the unfathomable mystery of our personal and planetary Being-ness.
Here is a brief synopsis of Full Moon characteristics that hold true to every Full Moon. Thank you Nick Anthony Fiorenza ~
“The latter part of this phase, building up to the Full Moon, matures our efforts into vision and enthusiasm. It is the intermixing of opposites that creates the magic to bear the fruit of our passions. The day and night just before the Full Moon is the most potent, exhilarating energy—a dynamic social and alchemical time. The Full Moon marks the point of coition in the lunar cycle, the climax, the point of excitement, a time of celebration.
The day just after the Full Moon is a time to kick back and relax. It is a time for the realization of the theme to emerge, of what the activities of the first half of the lunar cycle, culminating into the enthusiasm of the Full Moon, are really about. Relax and allow this realization to occur. There is no need to force it as it surfaces on its own.”
Wed July 1
Sun/Mars in Gemini opposite Moon/Pluto in Sagittarius: Today is the Full SunMoon, building to a climax all day and aligning exactly in the early evening hours. But the Moon in athletic, truthful, know-it-all Sagittarius first opposes forceful Mars all day. This can lead to some very direct, confrontational exchanges, even accidents, so be sure to take deep calming breathes all day long to help balance this fiery energy in your nervous system before you erupt in sharing your truth. Because this Full SunMoon cycle is linked to Pluto ~ catharsis/death/rebirth ~ it can be a super-charged time to follow-up through with dynamic changes you have wanted to make. Pluto naturally clears out the dross in our lives, so purge those closets, literally and metaphorically.
Mars square nodes: In addition, Mars is making an once every two-year waxing square to the Lunar Nodes. That means a shift is taking place in where you have focused your energies the past six months (leaving behind the South Node of our historical Self) to where you want to be heading the next six months (now moving toward the North Node, calling forth your future Self). A great aspect to sleuth out information to support a project or dream as Mars is in informational, curious Gemini.
Jupiter/Venus conjunction: Ah this magical beauteous alignment, which you have probably been observing, is now through it’s first conjunction completing in sidereal Cancer. Cancer is the ruler of family dynamics, encourages a love of being home in our sacred space, or needing to spend time celebrating the vegetative Earthly abundance of chlorophyll and wildflowers. Take in this nourishment through all your senses and discover how beauty ought to be considered a food group, in my humble opinion. By the way, when they meet up again in late October, they will be rising in the early morning hours, instead of at sunset, as they unite in playful, creative Leo.
Sun in Gemini trine Neptune in Aquarius: This festive aspect supports connecting naturally, synchronistically with just the right folks who nurture you in ways you weren’t even aware you needed nurturing. That’s because both Gemini and Aquarius are astrological signs that are willing to be more open, curious and experimental. Staying youthful, no matter your age, involves openness, curiosity and experimentation.
Thu July 2
Mercury in Taurus sextile Uranus in Pisces: As Mercury nears it’s completion of the long transit through sidereal Taurus (that’s because it went through a three week retrograde in May/June) you may find yourself pleasantly surprised today (Uranus brings both shock and surprise) by some out of the blue news in regards to a financial matter, a real estate transaction, or your physical health as these are all domains linked to Taurus.
Moon in Sagittarius square Uranus in Pisces: As you continue to glean insights from yesterday’s Full Moon, this planetary square can fire up your will to be a super-charged athlete, pushing yourself hard, even too hard. A cautionary note: listen to what your body really needs as this aspect also includes the desire for some Piscean rest, restoration, lingering longer by the mountain stream. Strike a balance between fire and water today.
Fri July 3
Mercury in Taurus square Chiron in Aquarius: Mercury is the ruler of our mental state and is linked to how we experience the world because of our ideas and beliefs. If you are occasionally bogged down by fear-based thinking or poverty consciousness, this decision-making square could be used positively to seek and practice a new way of viewing something. Chiron rules magic and miracles, if you believe such things are possible. Explore your options today.
Mercury in Taurus sextile Jupiter in Cancer: I will repeat a bit of what I said yesterday as this dynamic holds a similar energy. As Mercury nears the completion of it’s long transit through sidereal Taurus (that’s because it went through a three week retrograde in May/June) you may find yourself pleasantly surprised today (Uranus brings both shock and surprise) by some out of the blue news in regards to a financial matter, a real estate transaction….and to that I add this….a family matter might be nicely resolved or a home-improvement project finds completion.
Moon/Ceres conjunction in Capricorn: As Ceres is linked to care-giving and care-receiving (make sure both are finding expression in your life), today is a good day to ask for what you need ~ the Moon’s question ~ in your key relationships. This aspect can also show up as needing to care for an elder or be extra vigilant about what your kid’s are up too. That would be what the energy of Capricorn symbolizes in this alignment.
Sat July 4
Mercury in Taurus sextile Venus in Cancer: This lovely communicative aspect bodes well for positive social interactions all day long. As Venus is leaving Cancer and entering sidereal Leo in the evening hours, the influence of playfulness and opening will expand the peoples’ hearts, like the flowering joyful fireworks blanketing the United States of America tonight. May you feel and express the love in your heart.
Sun July 5
Mercury enters Gemini: It’s assumed by astrologers that Mercury loves entering Gemini, it’s most natural mercurial home. This several week transit is excellent for the logistical, multi-tasking side of life. Your mind can become quicker, sharper, and a sense of humor can return as Mercury is the Trickster archetype. Taking road trips can be extra easy and fun during this transit, or looking and booking ahead for a future journey.
Moon in Aquarius: The friendly eccentric Moon in Aquarius makes a couple key aspects today. It will first oppose Juno in Leo ~ what each partner loves to do ~ which might bring up polarities in conversation about how each individual wants to play today. Take time to go back and forth, reviewing the options, then find that common ground that works for both of you, all of you. By the late night hours, Moon aligns perfectly, exactly with dreamy, imaginative Neptune, encouraging a spaciousness of heart to dream bigger than you might have before. Dreams are extra visionary tonight.
Mon July 6
Sun in Gemini opposite Pluto in Sagittarius: This extra fierce, annual opposition of our illuminating Sun to power-oriented Pluto can bring up power struggles or battles of the will between parties, and also manifest as extreme endurance or exceptional productivity. Also note that Sagittarius often guides philosophers and visionaries, and Gemini sparks the desire to bring that etheric idea down to Earth in practical details. Both aspects are necessary to get the job done.
Moon/Chiron conjunction in Aquarius: This monthly aspect can call up a sudden feeling of vulnerability or sense of being exposed. Chiron is associated with both our woundedness yet also supports us to heal ourselves by honoring who we truly are. And Aquarius is the sign of truly being yourself, so live your diversity, revel in your uniqueness, BE the authentic YOU.
Tue July 7
Moon in Pisces conjunct South Node: We finish out this Full SunMoon week with more open-heartedness and vulnerability as the compassionate Moon in Pisces makes a monthly transit over the South Node of forgiving and moving beyond our past, our old story. Or this aspect may feel like a sense of just wanting to sit and do nothing. You may choose to call that tiredness or you may decide to name that the need for inner quiet and reflection.
Moon in Pisces conjunct South Node: We finish out this Full SunMoon week with more open-heartedness and vulnerability as the compassionate Moon in Pisces makes a monthly transit over the South Node of forgiving and moving beyond our past, our old story. Or this aspect may feel like a sense of just wanting to sit and do nothing. You may choose to call that tiredness or you may decide to name that the need for inner quiet and reflection.
Last Quarter Moon~Spiral Two
“Roman Spiral near the Great Theater at Ephesus” photograph by Terry Tempest Williams
I end this SolLunar cycle where I started it, with the image of spiral. Thank you again Terry for the gift of this ancient spiral from Turkey.
It’s a big week ahead, read below. With the completion of this SolLunar cycle, we will also complete the year-long transit of Jupiter through sidereal Cancer. When I talk about Jupiter in an astrological reading with my clients, I always talk about spiraling to a new level of awakening and opening (sadly you can also spiral in the other direction downward and out of control). Jupiter will enter Leo for the coming year on Tuesday July 13. I personally have been awaiting and anticipating the opening of the expansive positive portal. Astrological transits are true energetic openings, or portals, that we all experience on multiple levels. How we respond to these cosmic opportunities and nudges determines how we work with and within these galactic cycles.
Here is a description of the qualities of the Last Quarter Moon phase compliments of my friend Nick Anthony Fiorenza, lunarplanner.com
“This phase completes with our Inner Needs surfacing to consciousness, to become aware of what is important to self and what is not. A sense of completion comes forth with a recognition that the past scenario has served its purpose and it is time to leave what is antiquated behind. Essentially a lesser self is what we will be shedding. It is now time to plow under the crops so they may become the fertilizer for the next cycle. This is a transformational time, a time for personal change. Step forth from old facades, and free yourself from past ways of participating in life. Knowing now what our Truth is, it is time to consciously live it. Doing so provides a choice for others to also live theirs. Not making the realized changes keeps ourselves bound in a circle of old patterns of growth; changing allows us to spiral to a new octave of experience—one that will eventually sprout in the next lunar cycle to come.
~~~~~
Please note: I make my posts according to the Lunar cycles, posting on the New, First Quarter, Full and Third Quarter Moons. My hope is to support you to work with and within the natural flow of time and energy, which will help your life flow with more ease and grace. Also, I base my interpretations and predictions on the true sidereal astronomical alignments.

Wed July 8
Last Quarter Moon: With the Moon in Pisces making a turning point waning square to Sun in Gemini, you might want to bring closure to what you launched three weeks ago and begin to anticipate where you want to be physically, emotionally, spiritually, mentally a week from now at the next New SolLunar cycle. Sun in Gemini has an energy of up and out and makes you mentally excited, while Moon in Pisces is more downward and inward, calling up subconscious emotions and need for quiet and inner reflection. Life often demands we inhabit two places (or more) simultaneously. Practice this shape-shifting today.
Mars in Gemini trine Neptune in Aquarius: As Mars currently makes a once-every-two years transit through sidereal Gemini, your passion for knowledge, reading, travel, investigation can be ignited. Today’s helpful trine to creative, imaginative Neptune in community-minded, friendly Aquarius might align you with the right people who share similar desires. Book a trip with a friend, or sign up for a class and make new friends.
Mars square Vesta: This aspect supports the above post about Mars/Neptune. Vesta’s influence always supports increased focus, gives you the courage to make a commitment. The square implies it might take a little extra effort or push on your part to move you forward.
Moon conjunct Uranus in Pisces: This once monthly alignment can paradoxically amp up your need for rest and reflection. This alignment falls on the heels of the above aspects that are more about DOING…..this one is about BEING. Rest after the push.
Thu July 9
Moon in Aries trine Venus/Juno in Leo: This aspect lights up the skies with a desire for joy and action. The monthly cycle of Moon in Aries that happens for the next two days tends to make us more impulsive and spontaneous. Venus ~ planet of love, money, creativity ~ and Juno ~ asteroid of key partnerships ~ are in playful Leo. A great day to play in nature and paint with extra color on the canvas of your life. Trust that leap of faith you may have taken yesterday.
Moon in Aries sextile Mercury in Gemini: This aspect is excellent for harmonious communication between your thinking and feeling sides. Journal writers, talk to yourSelf via paper and pen, to glean clear direction about your life, both past aspects and future callings. Or pick up the phone and call a friend for similar clarity.
Fri July 10
Moon in Aries sextile Mars/Sun in Gemini: As the fading crescent of the Moon makes its waning sextile to the Sun, a sense of peace and reflection can arise. Both of these planets are in the active, communicative elements of fire and air however, so you might feel antsy in a good way or giddy about recent events and have an overwhelming need to express that to others.
Mercury in Gemini squares the Lunar Nodes: Late tonight, Mercury ~ planet of ideas, technology, communication ~ makes a turning point square to the Lunar Nodes, indicating a shift from past motivations to future directions. Meditate at some point today, especially this evening, to gain the full benefit of this aspect in terms of increased mental clarity. You can calm the chatter of monkey mind, and awaken to the greater clarity of your higher Mind. Your choice, always.
Sat July 11
Moon in Taurus square Venus in Leo: This fleeting aspect might unfold like this: You find the most beautiful object, piece of clothing you want to purchase for yourself, or another, but a fear around spending the money is equally strong. Good luck deciding what is in your best interest at this time.
Sun July 12
Sun in Gemini square Uranus in Pisces: This is big news today and always warrants extra caution and care. As you drive or just move around today, move with more consciousness so as to avoid accidents or a sudden falling on your face, which occasionally happens to me when my Guides/Angels/Ancestors/Animals are trying to get my attention. I call it ‘cosmic chiropract-ry’ or ‘divine re-alignment’ and I always pay attention. On a day like today, you can also have a sudden epiphany or satori or creative surge that can blow your circuits while also producing a lot of good work. Throughout today, be sure to utilize the tools you have to calm your nervous system, like restorative yoga, breathing, tulsi tea. Just a few minutes here and there can make all the difference to stay balanced today.
Jupiter leaves Cancer: Can you hear my sigh of relief? If you have read my blog, for a year I have written about this profoundly important transit that has brought much depth, release, sadness, loss, especially with our Elders and other beloveds. This has manifested as a year of profound transformation as well as great death in this world, yet also heralds resurrection in the other realms and in our new family constellations. Take some time today to pause and really give thanks for all you navigated and to those who passed on this past twelve months.
Mon July 13
Jupiter enters Leo: Can you hear my cry YES! and scream of happiness as jovial optimistic Jupiter enters sidereal Leo, an astrological sign that is sure to increase creativity, playfulness, joyfulness in our collective planetary Field. This aspect, which begins today and happens for twelve months, will be a supportive background energy to help us as we are still required to navigate these very intense, chaotic times. More to come on this for months to come. Celebrate in your own way today.
Sun in Gemini trine Chiron in Aquarius: Spontaneous healing can occur today between friends, in therapeutic circles, and in the world in general. Or solutions finally appear after months of negotiations.
Tue July 14
Moon/Mercury/Mars conjunction in Gemini: As we complete this SolLunar cycle today (tomorrow is the New Moon), it promises to be a highly communicative day. The ruler of emotions ~the Moon ~ aligns with the ruler thoughts and ideas ~Mercury ~ and both of these align with activist, truth-telling Mars. This passionate, stimulating conjunction takes place in curious, talkative Gemini, and is sure to make for a day of over-the-top social media activity, everyone talking with their hand gestures, enhanced desire to go walking or running with friends, possible travel glitches.

Pluto
“Pluto’s Heart” photograph by NASA
I am both obligated and delighted to post this brand spanking new portrait of Pluto that has excited and catalyzed our world. When we first document an event in our vast Universe, seeing it in a whole new perspective, this moment of awakening also symbolizes that we are ready to shift and evolve internally/externally as well. If you study the history of the science of astronomy/astrology, you will see this is so. Last time we glimpsed Pluto via a flyby photograph was in 2010. The image was stunning, but blurred. Now it is 2015. This time the image is much clearer in the ability to recognize what’s happening on Pluto. We are ready to see power through a new lens.
Pluto is our planetary ruler of how power is used/abused, it governs our biological processes, and Pluto shows up as both death, transformation, and rebirth in our lives. Such is the on-going nature of creation, nothing is stable, everything is in flux, always. Best to get used to that fundamental reality. Best to find ways to live in the present moment and be guided by your gut instinct, also a domain of Pluto.
Pluto is my planet as I was born with Pluto rising aligned with my Moon. Translation? I have been in contemplation of Pluto’s evolutionary, always revolutionary messages my whole life long. Decades ago, I told a fellow astrologer “Pluto is the love of power of the power of Love.” I had never heard that before in regards to Pluto but I trusted what came out of my core knowing. As you study this recent portrait of Pluto, we literally see that cosmic heart embedded in the very earth of Pluto. Who knew? It’s surprised us all. Perhaps this signifies we really are ready to shift away from dominating power models and embrace a more universal notion of shared power that is the center of all loving relationships.
We have arrived again at another New Moon, this one taking place in sidereal Gemini. This is also called a new SolLunar cycle, as the Sun is involved in this rebirth and planting of a new seed into our world. It is an extremely dynamic, explosive beginning as both planets, along with Mercury and Mars are all in relationship to plutonian Pluto. What synchronistic timing that this portrait of Pluto emerges as this cycle is about to begin.
And this: Jupiter has now transited into playful, creative, artistic Leo. Ode to Joy. Soon, Jupiter will square the more serious Saturn and we will all turn a corner in terms of making new commitments and aligning/realigning ourselves to create new forms in our lives.
Here’s a list of New Moon characteristics compliments of my friend/sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza ~ lunarplanner.com
“Beginning the Sprouting Phase of the Lunar Cycle, expressing a New Theme: A new theme emerges. A new idea, a new concept sprouts forth. This is an inner message, an impulse expressing from a field of all possibilities deep within the unconscious mind. Often this process is one of discovery, slowly revealing a simple theme over a day or two, or it may be quite clear and specific, a spontanious message, even suggesting a major life change. The New Moon is a perfect time for meditation or a quite walk—to go within self and listen. A simple word or phrase may pop into your mind during this quite time describing the new lunar theme in a way that is unique to you, or perhaps a simple feeling or knowing will come over you. The ability to listen, honor and trust the inner is all that is required at this time. The ideal time to attune to your New Moon theme is exactly as the New Moon occurs, or at sunrise after the New Moon if the New Moon occurred during the night.”

Wed July 15
Mars in Gemini opposite Pluto in Sagittarius: Historic nuke deal signed by world powers, including America, and Iran…say no more. This global event is such a clear articulation of the revolutionary dynamic of Mars and Pluto, both planets that govern the rules of war and peace. There is both great fear surrounding this breakthrough as well as great hope. Both emotions are warranted. We are entering new territory, unexplored, unknown. We will have to see how this historic moment plays itself out on Planet Earth. But something had to shift given the nature of these times. And thankfully, it did.
Mercury in Gemini opposite Pluto in Sagittarius: This aspect is similar to the above post but now communications, ruled by Mercury, intensify and can become combative, even explosive. Both these astrological signs are associated with education, travel, information gathering, so you might experience excessive obsession or some disruption in those areas of life.
New SolLunar cycle in Gemini: Lastly as this day ends, we experience a New Moon, always a new beginning full of possibility and expansive growth. But note that the Moon swiftly leaves gregarious Gemini and enters homebody, private, moody Cancer. You have probably gone through many emotional waves today so this aspect supports seeking the comfort of bed early, perhaps ingesting some version of carbs (Cancer’s love) before drifting off, spent.
Thu July 16
Venus conjunct Regulus of Leo: This is a favorite astrological alignment of mine. Our planetary ruler of love, creative urges, and beauty is making an annual conjunction with the regal star of Regulus, the Heart of the Lion, a star noted to inspire the ability to stand fully in your integrity, no excuses, no doubts. But the gift will keep on giving this summer and into early fall, as we will be blessed three times with this celestial alignment during the Venus retrograde from July 25-Sept 6 giving us ample opportunity to discover/uncover the truth of our heart’s urges and callings. Much more to come on this grace-filled celestial gift bathing our entire planet. Attune to your true desires today.
Moon in Cancer opposite Ceres in Capricorn: This monthly aspect tends to bring child/parent conflicts to a head for further honesty. Always a good thing. Or you might experience a tension between spending time at home or engaged with work. Make time for both if you can so no one feels resentment.
Sun enters sidereal Cancer: Even though this New SolLunar cycle started in curious, investigative Gemini, the rest of this cycle swiftly shifts to Cancer, the sign of family dynamics, home, caregiving, real estate, parenting. It’s wise to use this monthly period to take more time to focus on those areas of your life. Gardening is good, cooking meals at home is pleasing, time spent with those you call family is supported.
Fri July 17
Moon in Cancer trine Uranus in Pisces: It’s a mild star weather day today, but I know you expect something each day from me. So, here’s news of a fleeting aspect. The interior Moon in Cancer makes a supportive trine to compassionate Uranus in Pisces. Be willing to connect with a stranger (what a strange word) and provide needed care and comfort. Or experience a surprising heart opening with a family member.
Sat July 18
Moon/Venus/Jupiter conjunction in Leo square Saturn in Scorpio: Wow that was a mouthful of an astrological pile up! This most notable beautiful aspect is visible as the Sun sets. This is a fusion of emotional support that you can feel from within or from those around you. A square to Saturn in the evening brings a depth to all conversations.
Mercury square Uranus: This late night aspect is fabulous for sparking quirky conversations both with others and inside your own head, a combination of genius and mental brilliance. Brainstorm away and be sure to write down all the strange ideas pouring through your head so you can sort through it all tomorrow. That way you can discover what has merit and what needs to be sent to the trash.
Sun July 19
Mercury in Gemini trine Chiron in Aquarius: If you did make note of last nights wild inspiration, today’s aspect encourages you to sort and sift and discover the healing creative solutions or answers to projects/relationships you are currently at work on fixing, mending, manifesting. Chiron is called the Rainbow Bridge and often manifests as an unexpected miracle. I believe. Do you?
Moon/Juno conjunction in Leo opposite Neptune in Aquarius: What a fabulous aspect this is for community social gatherings, romantic date nights, conversations with like-minded colleagues, reaching out to collaborate with another.
Mon July 20
Mercury enters sidereal Cancer: Now our collective mind can turn more secretive, internal, private, soul searching. This several week aspect might see some of you resuming some form of therapy to examine your issues and discover new secrets and awarenesses. On a more earthly note, some of you might be negotiating house contracts or upgrading the communication system in your home. Maybe that will translate as well to better communications within your home in the coming weeks.
Moon in Leo sextile Mars in Gemini opposite Chiron in Aquarius: Today involves joyful movement, animated healing conversations, like taking a fun-run or walk with a friend and discovering a profoundly supportive support system that was there all along. Give gratitude profusely today and reap the rewards of saying a simple thank you for days and weeks and years to come.
Tue July 21
Sun in Cancer trine Saturn in Scorpio: This lovely aspect supports an easy and natural discipline to accomplish whatever you want to accomplish. If you need to, focus on the family budget, create supportive disciplines, appreciate the value of routine.
Moon in Virgo conjunct North Node: The focus of our needs aligns with our future direction. As the Moon is in health-minded, boundary-setting Virgo, this may involve cutting ties with some aspect of your life so you may at last move forward.
Wed July 22
Moon in Virgo: A potentially volatile day as the Moon triggers transformational Pluto, aggressive Mars and shocking Uranus. Thankfully the discerning, analytical Virgo Moon can temper the turbulent waters of today with thoughtful care and calm.
~~~~~
Thank you beloved Pluto. You remain our most powerful surprising planetary force. May we never underestimate your power again.
