OnlineStar Signposts: Week of New SolLunar cycle September 13-20
The Northern Tetons ~ Mt. Moran
“Sky PhoenixSwan” photograph by Lyn Dalebout
My sincere apologies for posting late. Today’s New Moon/Solar Eclipse felt so momentous I sensed I had to experience my own shift via deep listening before I could report back to you. Our physical life here on Earth mirrors where our consciousness resides. That might entail traveling in various dimensions, being consumed with various thought forms, or obsessions, sports trivia, food enthusiasms. It’s all good. My own consciousness has been out exploring ‘deep time, deep space’ (as my wise young friend Heidi Paravati Christine defines it) while also wandering in the autumnal rainbow beauty, watching Grizzly cubs fattening up for the coming winter, as part of contemplating this important September eclipse.
Here’s a mini astronomy lesson. A Solar Eclipse always occurs at the New Moon. The Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun and can cast physical shadows upon the Sun and the Earth. But this event also severs invisible but very real energetic ties. My colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza defines Solar eclipses this way: “They offer an opportunity to redefine concepts of self and the roles we play in the world, or how we articulate ourselves in life. They are about shifting octaves in the nature of our self-perception and self-expression, and addressing issues that keep us from doing so. They can invite a new beginning, way of life, or new way of participating in life.”
What a truly dynamic period we are entering with this New SolLunar cycle. We have the upcoming Eclipse cycles. The rare Jupiter/Neptune opposition, exact on the 16th, has been working on us for several weeks, and will continue to do so for the coming 6 years. Prioritize your creative life this week, making extra time for events, activities that call forth the contents of your imagination. This aspect it more dreamy than realistic. It’s time to dream big again. In addition, Mercury goes retrograde again on the 17th. We are entering another perfect storm of celestial influence that will pressure us further to trust and follow our inner compass, the truest guide.
~~~~~
Here’s a list of New Moon characteristics compliments of my friend/sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza at lunarplanner:
“Beginning the Sprouting Phase of the Lunar Cycle, expressing a New Theme: A new theme emerges. A new idea, a new concept sprouts forth. This is an inner message, an impulse expressing from a field of all possibilities deep within the unconscious mind. Often this process is one of discovery, slowly revealing a simple theme over a day or two, or it may be quite clear and specific, a spontanious message, even suggesting a major life change. The New Moon is a perfect time for meditation or a quite walk—to go within self and listen. A simple word or phrase may pop into your mind during this quite time describing the new lunar theme in a way that is unique to you, or perhaps a simple feeling or knowing will come over you. The ability to listen, honor and trust the inner is all that is required at this time. The ideal time to attune to your New Moon theme is exactly as the New Moon occurs, or at sunrise after the New Moon if the New Moon occurred during the night.”
~~~~~
Please note: I make my posts according to the Lunar cycles, posting on the New, First Quarter, Full and Third Quarter Moons. I seek to support you in working with and within the natural flow of time and energy, which will help your life flow with more ease and grace. Also, I base my interpretations and predictions on the true sidereal astronomical alignments.
~~~~~
Sat September 12:
Balsamic Moon: We complete this fading SolLunar cycle with the joyful, re-creating Leo Moon. Some cycles end in exhaustion, this one, thankfully, might complete with an impending feeling of a returning optimism as you are about to take a really really big leap of faith toward your dreams in the coming weeks. Celebrate yourself, your Light, your infinite creative Self today and in the coming month.
Sun September 13
New SolLunar Eclipse in sidereal Leo: This new SolLunar cycle begins in the last degrees of Leo, calling forth your creativity in vibrant new expressions. Repeating what I wrote above, here’s the influence a Solar Eclipse may have upon us. Solar Eclipses offer opportunity to redefine concepts of self and the roles we play in the world, or how we articulate ourselves in life. They are about shifting octaves in the nature of our self-perception and self-expression, and addressing issues that keep us from doing so. They can invite a new beginning, way of life, or a new way of participating in life.
Moon shifts to Virgo: By time today is over, the Moon leaves Leo and shifts into industrious Virgo and makes a conjunction with relational Juno, then the North Node of your future destiny. That means you may inadvertently yet synchronistically connect with an important soul mate, soul colleague as you navigate your day today. Or tonight, make space for some journaling time with your own true Self, exploring in conversation the deeper questions that you are pondering at this time. Deep space, deep time. The essence of wisdom.
Mon September 14
Moon in Virgo opposite Vesta in Pisces: I think of this aspect as clearing out layers of disorganization, even sloth, that have accumulated around you in the previous weeks. Sloth is a wonderful word as it sounds like what it is: reluctance to work or make an effort. You may be highly efficient and organized in some aspects of your life, but not so in others. Today’s a good day to tidy up some corner of your world.
Tue September 15
Mars enters sidereal Leo: This is a welcomed shift, in my opinion. Action-oriented Mars has been forced to be underwater as it transited through Cancer. Now this fiery planet re-enters a fire sign, this time Leo, which manifests as increased drama, new creative desires, surging passion. This alignment will be in play till early November 2015.
Moon/Mercury conjunction in Virgo: This once-monthly alignment naturally lends itself to obsessive cleaning and cleansing, and criticizing, all expressions of Virgo.
Wed September 16
Jupiter in Leo opposite Neptune in Aquarius: This once-every-six-years event ensures amped up creative inspiration and motivation and also helps to to shift our cultural awareness in more compassionate directions. Jupiter is a ruler of pop culture, is very progressive and positive, and Neptune rules the organ of our awakening collective Heart, which is still under construction, but heading in the right direction. This alignment occurs once, today, but will return in May 2016. That means these coming months can be a time of renewed inspiration. It’s time to follow up on dreams you once imagined could happen, then maybe unimagined them happening through fear or doubt. Yes, sadly, we are good at doing that. Don’t judge yourself harshly. Sometimes we just need to get better prepared to eventually follow through. This aspect launches a time of reawakening those dreams and following through on exciting new opportunities. As this aspect is more dreamy than focused, so prioritize taking time off from your ‘daily grind’ activities and spend more time pursuing your creative life, making extra time to pay attention to the contents of your imagination.
Thu September 17
Mercury goes retrograde in Virgo: This aspect happens midday and can manifest as glitches in communication systems, like the internet going down, or an electronic gadget going figmo (that means ‘haywire’ by the way). Mercury will be in retrograde mode until Oct 9. That just means this is a good three week period to be more reflective, perhaps re-evaluating some situation before making a final decision. It’s noteworthy that when Mercury heads back into direct motion, it will be aligned with the North Node of future directions. That says to me that this particular Mercury retrograde cycle will have a lot today with researching/pursuing options/organizing around our future goals and dreams, not so much about dredging up and healing the past. Isn’t that welcomed news? Haven’t we done enough of that of late?
Sun enters sidereal Virgo: This time of year, as the Sun enters Virgo, we naturally want to focus more on health, finishing up projects, discover a willingness to prune and discard that which no longer serves our higher good and greater health. Gyms, nutritional counselors, life coaches, hospital wellness programs, health food restaurants all tend to see increased business and returning clients.
Fri September 18
Moon in Scorpio square Mars in Leo: You might experience a big ouch today either in the form of a combative conversation, a sudden inner fury taking hold, or an intense desire to control a situation. That’s because the controlling Moon in Scorpio makes a very tense square to Mars in forthright, egotistical Leo. You simple can’t withhold your feelings any more, nor should you. But beware, it’s a red flag warning kind of day.
Moon/Saturn conjunction in Scorpio: This serious and deeply probing aspect might bring a temporary cloud to your day or manifest as the need to stop outer activity so as to pay attention to what’s going on in your inner life. Kind of like a spiritual migraine. Cut the external stimulus and go within. Or some may want to stay firmly rooted in their current state of denial. So many options and ways to experience this challenging aspect! On a day like today, remember all astrological influences are like passing moods, temporary in the larger scheme of things. Today might also lead to a life-changing decision, if you will sound, and follow, your depths.
Sat September 19
Juno conjunct North Node in Virgo: This rare alignment shows up as important new relationships and partnerships of all kinds entering your life that will support you going forward. It also heralds a time when your current committed relationships long to explore new terrain. For some of you, this aspect gives you permission to break out of old relationships that have seen their day and need to be released. That can include the relationship you’ve have with yourself that might involve destructive patterns or negative beliefs. Virgo’s influence always supports greater health, using the power of our wisest discernment to know and trust what is in our best interests.
Moon in Scoprio square Jupiter/Neptune opposition: Square aspects often manifest as key turning points in our lives. This lunar one is fleeting, but no less important, as it acts as a trigger to the Jupiter/Neptune opposition I wrote about above. You are further guided to take a creative risk or leap of faith, perhaps financially, as Scorpio is often associated with money issues.
Sun September 20
Moon/Pallas Athene in Scorpio: The fast-moving Moon often functions like a portal or access point, like a door opening, to whatever planetary energy it is in alignment with. Today’s monthly activation of Pallas Athene, the asteroid of creative intelligence, strategy, wisdom, makes for a day that helps you understand the unfolding creative quilt of your life. What pieces might still be missing? What new colors make you feel more alive? This is a great day to create a new vision board of Self.
OnlineStar Signposts: Week of First Quarter Moon September 21-26
Autumnal Equinox
What a dynamic astrological week ahead ! This year, Fall Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere, always an important and sacred turning point each year, will be Wednesday September 23, 2015 at 2:22 AM MST. Mighty Pluto will complete it’s retrograde from April 2015 and face forward again. In addition, the always intense, driven, frustrating and combative Mars/Saturn square takes hold of us. Lastly, as our igniting Sun makes an annual conjunction to Juno, the ruler of our core partnerships, you might be forge a dynamic new relationship this week.
At the end of this post, I have included a special personal note. This week, I will be receiving an award for my Dad, posthumously, for his induction into the Intermountain Ski Hall of Fame. Dad was the inventive genius behind the DaleBoot ski boot, other inventions, and changed the world of skiing forever. It will be a poignant honor to receive this award for him. I know he is very happy and satisfied this is finally happening.
Here’s a list of the First Quarter Moon characteristics compliments of my friend/sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza.
“The First Quarter Moon of each lunar cycle draws an external stimulus to initiate action as we move from the inspirational quarter of the lunar cycle into the action quarter. Now is the time to drop all hesitation and take the steps to move forth on what you were inspired about. The inspiration is now gone, it is time to now participate in trust and knowing. Remember, the flower that is about to burst forth from the bud is not yet visible. Trust in the process. Demonstrate this trust in physical action and you will be supported. This time is stressful or traumatic only if action is ignored. What you are putting together now is the groundwork for the manifestation of the theme. Simply, this phase is a time to work.”
Please note: I make my posts according to the Lunar cycles, posting on the New, First Quarter, Full and Third Quarter Moons. I seek to support you in working with and within the natural flow of time and energy, which will help your life flow with more ease and grace. Also, I base my interpretations and predictions on the true sidereal astronomical alignments.
Mon September 21
First Quarter Moon in Sagittarius square Sun in Virgo: This aspect usually launches some form of action in your life and helps you overcome procrastination. That is particularly true today as the Sun is in hard working Virgo and the Moon is in fired up, motivated, athletic Sagittarius. The square aspect can sometimes create a pit of fear, hesitation, doubt, but hopefully you won’t let that stop you on a day like today.
Moon in Virgo square Lunar Nodes/Juno: As today progresses the action oriented Moon makes a square first to the Lunar Nodes which triggers you leaving behind old patterns and stepping into new habits and goals. Secondly, as the Moon squares Juno tonight, a tense confrontation with your mate may ensure, or you may realize you are not happy about what’s going on with a professional colleague. You might have to be more direct about that tomorrow.
Tue September 22
Moon/Pluto in Sagittarius square Mercury retrograde in Virgo: As I hinted at in yesterday’s post, this aspect is about taking direct action on the communication front. The current Mercury retrograde has already had you pondering, brooding over your interactions of late, and today you might suddenly need to step forward a share your truth ~ that’s always the gift of Sagittarius ~ while honoring your own boundaries ~ the gift of Virgo.
Wed September 23
Autumnal Equinox at 2:22 AM MST: This day marks a sacred turning point in the terms of Light on Earth. The Sun is halfway to it’s southernmost destination that will occur on Winter Solstice. This is a day of heading into the harvest period of your 2015. What needs to get finished by the end of this year in terms of projects, relationships, inner shifts, outer goals? If you can make time today, create a ceremony of intention for the coming three month period. Decide first, then the doing is easy.
Venus in Cancer trine Uranus in Pisces: This lovely aspect brings heartfelt connections to you throughout today, especially in regards to those your consider to be family. Spontaneous displays of affection abound. Great day to spruce up your domestic scene with surprising new colors, fabrics, dining ware, bedding. That’s Uranus’s influence. Take a playful risk today.
Moon/Ceres conjunction in Capricorn: A great day to connect with a special elder in your life. And this once-monthly alignment is excellent for organizing details of your business or doing advance planning in terms of your kid’s schedule and schooling.
Thu September 24
Sun conjunct North Node in Virgo: Once a year our Sun aligns with the Lunar North Node, a place in the zodiac that is synonymous with stepping into your future destiny, sometimes with trepidation, sometimes with excitement, often with a feeling of ‘this is meant to be’. They are aligning in sidereal Virgo which encourages you to use your finest discernment in making an important choice, creating healthy boundaries, committing to a life of greater health and vitality.
Moon in Capricorn opposite Venus in Cancer: This aspect can create a tug of war between your work responsibilities and requirements on the home front. Or you may want to stay home, but you need to go to work. Venus rules desires and Moon governs our needs. Today they can be at odds. I am grateful I’ll be receiving Dad’s award today as this is also a lovely expression of recognition by society for something pursued personally.
Fri September 25
Pluto turns direct: Yipdedoo! Woot woot! I always like the day when the ‘cosmic backhoe’ (one of my definitions of Pluto) turns direct from it’s five month retrograde period. Chances are some part of your life was turned upside down last spring, simply meaning that each new year naturally brings things that need to come to completion so new creative shoots will eventually emerge. The composting process of Pluto is complete, at least for now. Time to anticipate the new life emerging or projects coming to fruition. There’s always a bit of caution when a mighty planet like Pluto is shifting directions. Best to move/drive with extra caution and care in the coming days ahead.
Mars in Leo square Saturn in Scorpio: Always profoundly challenging, this aspect means it’s time to push yourself to go beyond previous limitations get on with it. Out of your enormous frustration or procrastination, you may finally feel ready to stop avoiding the inevitable. It can also mean it’s time to stop doing something because it’s no longer in your best interests to keep doing the same old same old. And sometimes that ‘stopping’ action is brought on by someone stopping you, such as a police person giving you a speeding ticket, or an accident that slows you down for a bit. This is a great day to lift a whole new poundage of weights, if you are a weight lifter. You will be surprised by your own strength and will.
Sat September 26
Sun/Juno conjunction in Virgo: This once yearly aspect shines light on the nature of all your core relationships. Things can suddenly become clear about whether to stay or move onto beckoning pastures. This might include your relationship to a place, your home, your Self. Sometimes this is a day of transition for those ready to leave, perhaps seeking another dimension. Be super present today to the quality of how you relate to others, and perhaps discover ways to improve those relationships.
Moon/Neptune/Chiron conjunction in Aquarius: The friendly and eccentric Aquarian Moon makes a rendezvous with artistic, spiritual Neptune and magical, healing Chiron. Classes fill to the brim today. Take in the galleries, visit communal spaces of creativity, like a good bookstore, your library’s nooks, your favorite coffee shop cafe. You can make some really interesting, life-altering connections today.
SPECIAL NOTE: My father will be inducted into the Intermountain Ski Hall of Fame this week. Below are the words that will be on Dad’s plaque to be permanently housed and the Alf Engen Ski Museum near Park City, Utah. We are grateful to all who made this happen. Thank you.
MELVIN (MEL) W. DALEBOUT ~ INDUCTED 2015 (1927 – 2014)
Developing a comfortable, high-performance ski boot was the lifelong passion of Mel Dalebout. It was a passion that today still transcends thousands of devotees worldwide who will attest that his innovative DaleBoot is the holy grail of ski gear.
The holder of 14 patents, Dalebout revolutionized boot making by encasing customized, foam-fitted liners in shells, first made of magnesium and later of plastic. His invention became the standard for performance-enhancing boot making and was the cornerstone of the DaleBoot USA ski boot company he founded in 1969 in his hometown of Salt Lake City and sold in 2007.
Dalebout’s other inventive contributions to skiing include removable boot soles, the first-ever canted soles, a stiff-top racing boot and a unique ski pole design and basket.
A graduate of the University of Utah, he was a mentor to many, set ski race courses and won the first race he ever entered, the Snow Cup B and C Trials. His skiing talents led him to be a second alternate for the 1952 U.S. Olympic Ski Team.
A trained engineer, Dalebout designed a state-of-the-art home at the base of Mt. Olympus where he nurtured his deep love and devotion to his family.
The Mel Dalebout inventive genius left a big, indelible imprint on the world’s ski and snowboard slopes. It reads: DaleBoot USA.
OnlineStar Signposts: Week of Full Moon Eclipse September 27-October 3
Full Moon Lunar Eclipse
This week, get ready for loads of emotion washing over your world, through your heart, potentially cleansing your eyes so as to see the world anew, with greater clarity. I explain more about that in the September 27 post below.
Don’t be surprised if you are more tired than inspired for this coming week. Our world, and most likely your personal world, has come through some pretty spectacular events in recent weeks and now is the time to reflect upon what has happened. Remember Mercury is still in retrograde until October 9, so gifting yourself some quiet time, restoring activities would be wise celestial advice.
That’s certainly how I feel and here’s why. I admit I am emotionally spent, yet savoring what I just completed in terms of my own family legacy. As I mentioned in last week’s post, I received an award for my Father posthumously (who would have been 88) for his contributions to downhill skiing. At this event, I realized this joyful link: Dad built our lovely home beneath the towering Mt. Olympus in Salt Lake City, and his final plaque of recognition for his life’s accomplishment now sits at Olympic Park near Park City. As we completed the ceremony, under a growing Moon, an energetic courageous group of future Olympians were soaring down steep slides, doing spectacular flips and twists, then landing in a frigid gigantic pool. Many of our most famous, aging skiers watched, spell-bound, in awe of the ever evolving talents of each new generation, applauding them on, as wise elders do.
I’d like to share these words from my acceptance speech honoring Dad:
“Mel Dalebout was the quintessential, eternal optimist, always believing in progress, evolution, invention, improvement. This quote by Eurpides describes one of Mel’s many philosophies: ‘The wisest follow their own direction’. Thank you Dad, for embodying what it means to follow your dream, to tap into the unique resources of creativity and passion that each of us has. We just have to have the courage and faith to follow those instincts to fruition, as you did with your DaleBoot. The last words Dad spoke were these: ‘Let’s stay positive dear.’ That is essence of who Mel Dalebout was. Thank you, Intermountain Ski Hall of Fame members, for this honoring of his wise and kind and creative soul.”
It was one of the best days of my life. Okay, thanks for listening, back to this week’s StarWeather report.
My sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza has this to say about the Eclipse cycle:”Eclipses tend to bring about endings and new beginnings. Eclipse lunar cycles are ideal times to set new six-month goals to create personal change in our lives, not necessarily on the solar or lunar eclipse, but based upon the realizations we have throughout the eclipse lunar cycles.
Lunar eclipses tend to be more emotionally palpable in nature, how we feel about things on the inner and how we respond to our life experience. They are about releasing the emotional bonds within ourselves that glue us to involvements that are less than we truly want or deserve. They are also about the emotional and experiential aspects of our relations with others and with the world. Lunar eclipses provide opportunity for an emotional resynchronization.”
And here is a brief synopsis of Full Moon characteristics that hold true to every Full Moon. Thanks again, Nick Anthony Fiorenza
“The Full Moon marks the point of coition in the lunar cycle, the climax, the point of excitement, a time of celebration. The day just after the Full Moon is a time for the realization of the theme to emerge, of what the activities of the first half of the lunar cycle, culminating into the enthusiasm of the Full Moon, are really about. Relax and allow this realization to occur. There is no need to force it as it surfaces on its own.”
Please note: I make my posts according to the Lunar cycles, posting on the New, First Quarter, Full and Third Quarter Moons. I seek to support you in working with and within the natural flow of time and energy, which will help your life flow with more ease and grace. Also, I base my interpretations and predictions on the true sidereal astronomical alignments.
Sunday September 27
Full Moon Eclipse: Moon in Pisces opposite the Sun in Virgo: What makes this a Lunar Eclipse is the Moon in Pisces is aligning with the South Lunar Node which holds the keys and clues to your ancient history. And I mean ancient, as this point also is linked to your past life timelines (if that’s something you are willing to consider). The emotional Moon transiting the sign of compassionate Pisces can often trigger memories of grief or loss, as well as an overwhelming love for everything and everyone. Simultaneously, the Sun is making a conjunction with the North Lunar Node, which governs your future Self. The future You is ever-ready to emerge from the endings and completions of the past. For those of you who are able to hold back tears, this alignment in Virgo can bring a sense of reserve as to how you will choose to express your inner emotional downpour. In addition, remember it’s always okay to honor your own boundaries as you leave behind situations that have been a drain for far too long. That’s another gift of today’s life-shifting Lunar Eclipse.
Mon Sept 28
Sun in Virgo opposite Vesta in Pisces: Both of today’s aspects are like day two of yesterday’s intensely transformational Lunar Eclipse. The same forces I wrote about above are still very active today. The Sun’s opposition to Vesta ~ focus, dedication to a cause ~ encourages you to be in a more focused place. Additional clarity and insights are bubbling up from below. Make time for reflection if you want to receive the wise guidance from your depths.
Moon/Uranus conjunction in Pisces: Uranus can trigger sudden events, like accidents or swift intuitive choices. The compassionate, emotional Moon in Pisces aligning with shocking Uranus gives you further permission to let the healing waters of love erupt between you and the world around you.
Tue Sept 29
Mercury retrograde in Virgo inconjunct Neptune in Aquarius: This aspect can be highly creative if you are willing to throw out what you thought was the best paragraph of your book and open yourself to a whole new channel of inspiration. I’m talking to the actual writers and thinkers who read this blog, but also this advice can apply to anyone seeking solutions for a life dilemma.
Wed Sept 30
Mercury Retrograde conjunct Sun in Virgo: Get ready to receive a flash of genius surrounding something you have been trying to design, resolve, write, heal. This aspect always functions as an illumination ~ The Sun ~ of the mind ~ Mercury ~ and is considered to be an aspect of genius if it occurs in a natal birth chart.
Venus reenters Leo: At last, Venus now completes her time in Cancer, finishing up this summer’s Venus retrograde cycle that saw many losses and sheddings. I’ll be writing more and more about how creative Venus is now entering happier Leo and nudging closer and closer to Jupiter this fall. You can see Venus shining with a startling brightness each morning at first light. Make a point of visiting this portal of inspiration in the pre-dawn morning as often as you can in the coming month.
Thu Oct 1
Moon in Taurus opposite Saturn in Scorpio: This monthly aspect might force you to pay attention to money matters as both Taurus and Scorpio rule the financial world. May there be no foolish attempts at another government shutdown!
Mercury retrograde conjunct Juno in Virgo: You will have a key conversation or brainstorming session with an important future client or colleague, your marriage partner, a health consultant or counselor.
Fri Oct 2
Mercury retrograde in Virgo opposite Vesta in Pisces: This alignment is excellent for harnessing the power of a focused mind to overcome any lethargy, sometimes associated with dreamy Pisces, and get on with the plan or making plans.
Moon in Taurus square Jupiter in Leo/Neptune in Aquarius: And this aspect has you considering the financial end of a creative endeavor you might be launching or already immersed within.
Sat Oct 3
Moon in Gemini square Mercury retrograde in Virgo: The Gemini Moon is always intellectually curious and friendly but can also be prone to gossip. A good use of the demanding square to discerning Mercury in Virgo might be to clear the clutter of your desk/desktop/emails. Also give some thought as how you can clear the clutter of unwanted thoughts, unhealthy habits. Some form of meditation will be helpful today.
Last Quarter Moon
“Northern Lights” photograph by Melissa Miller
Thank you Melissa for this inspiring night sky portrait. It’s a fitting image for the potentially exciting week that lies ahead with Mercury turning direct again, a rare energizing Jupiter/Pluto trine, and our Sun squaring transformational Pluto and opposing revolutionary Uranus. It’s sure to be a week of following up and finishing a multitude of tasks so you can embark on a new adventure, refreshed/reset, as we all collectively enter next week’s New SolLunar cycle.
~~~~~
Here is a description of the qualities of the Last Quarter Moon phase compliments of my friend and sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza at lunarplanner:
“This phase completes with our Inner Needs surfacing to consciousness, to become aware of what is important to self and what is not. A sense of completion comes forth with a recognition that the past scenario has served its purpose and it is time to leave what is antiquated behind. Essentially a lesser self is what we will be shedding. Step forth from old facades, and free yourself from past ways of participating in life. Knowing now what our Truth is, it is time to consciously live it. Doing so provides a choice for others to also live theirs. Changing allows us to spiral to a new octave of experience—one that will eventually sprout in the next lunar cycle to come.”
~~~~~
Please note: I make my posts according to the Lunar cycles, posting on the New, First Quarter, Full and Last Quarter Moons. My hope is to support you to work with and within the natural flow of time, the Thirteen Moons of each year, which can help your life flow with more ease and grace.
~~~~~
Sun Oct 4
Last Quarter Moon: This point in every Lunar cycle is always a time to leave behind an old way of being or way of participating in life for a new way that is more fulfilling and nurturing. Today’s multi-tasking, curious Moon in Gemini makes a last quarter square to the Sun in organized, perfectionistic Virgo. This ensures your day might be about getting down to business or just intense busyness, or extended conversations going longer than you expected.

Moon in Cancer opposite Ceres in Capricorn: Midday, the Moon will depart the outward sociality of Gemini and enter more interior Cancer. This shift might bring up the desire to leave work early and head home to the comforts of your nest, Cancer’s domain. Whenever the Moon makes the monthly transit through Cancer, home cooking, sharing a secret with someone your trust, snuggling with your beloved pet or partner or favorite book are all favored activities. Time to refresh in your nest.
Tue Oct 6
Sun in Virgo square Pluto in Sagittarius: There is a potential today for power struggles, empowerment issues, sudden toxic clearing in your body in the form of stomach upset or a quickly developing cold. Pluto rules our relationship to power and often guides what’s happening to us at the biological level. A day of intensity is in store. Ride the wave of Plutonian change, which always has our best interests at heart, but oftentimes feels a bit fierce and often terribly uncomfortable.
Mars in Leo opposite Neptune in Aquarius: This highly creative aspect ensures your current passions might get a well-deserved supportive helping hand arising in a magical way, be that an internal inspiration from your own muse or guardian angel, or outward support from an earthly compatriot. Sadly, this aspect can manifest as the less evolved of our species declaring holy warfare. May the wise, compassionate deities, angels, guides keep offering their protection, guidance, and upliftment to we humans during these trying times as we continue to evolve to become more like them in thoughts, words, deeds.
Wed Oct 7
Venus aligns with Regulus, heart of Leo the Lion: Wake yourself up by 5 am to witness the sparkling beauty of Venus rising. In addition, attune and mediate and absorb this wondrous sky alignment of love, integrity, holy joy, sacred courage. That’s how I experience this energy which happens once a year. Regulus is considered to be a truly regal star that assists us, guides us to align our heart’s true calling with our actions here on Earth. How I wish this star portal weren’t so fleeting….but I will gratefully soak up every hour of this divine alignment and carry it’s inspiration and support with me into the coming year.
Thu Oct 8
Mercury in retrograde conjunct North Node in Virgo: Greater mental clarity about your future directions, goals, desires can arrive today especially if you give yourself time for introspection, journal writing, meditation, all activities supported by the retrograde, inward-looking cycle. If you are researching new purchases, career directions, health options, as part of this cycle, which is often the case, you might actually make your choice today, or in the next two days as Mercury hovers and recrosses the North Node on October 10.
Leo Moon conjunction Venus/Regulus: Now the emotive Moon joins Venus and Regulus, continuing to insist we live a life of integrity, Regulus’s core teaching. This alignment will only increase the joy vibration on the planet, in your life, if you choose to see life in all it’s wondrous possibilities despite all the current challenges. May you experience your own version of this, through the delight of watching your children, the antics of a beloved pet, the unfurling beauty of flowers. There so many, many endless ways to experience beauty every day.
Fri Oct 9
Mercury direct in Virgo: You might experience a completion in regards to some relationship/question that’s had you a bit flummoxed in the past three weeks. Virgo’s influence supports you in discovering how your own boundaries serve you as you serve others.
Moon in Leo conjunct Mars/Jupiter: It’s a festive Friday for sure with this triad of planetary players teaming up with energy, joy, passion, optimism. Things can also get quite exaggerated, with over the top enthusiasm, like the zealous athlete that pushes farther than their current state of ability. But hey, sometimes that’s what it takes to know one’s limits while continuing to take impossible leaps of faith.
Sat Oct 10
Mercury direct aligns with North Node: I’ll repeat a little of what I wrote about October 8, but now Mercury is in forward motion. Important difference. Greater mental clarity about your future directions, goals, desires can arrive today. If you have researched new purchases as part of this cycle, you might actually make the purchase today. A profound clarity of thought can surface today. Remember the potency of aligning your thoughts with your words with your deeds. The key to sure-fired success.
Venus in Leo square Saturn in Scorpio: This aspect is great for sitting yourself down at the easel, before the scary blank page, at the design table, wherever, whatever you are creatively inspired to create, and overcome procrastination, and just begin. Don’t let the fear, the pressure, the old tapes interfere with starting again, seeing with fresh eyes. This same advice might apply to questions surrounding love, as Venus rules art, heart, love.
Sun Oct 11
Jupiter in Leo trine Pluto in Sagittarius: From a global perspective, this rare aspect bodes well for new configurations of power dynamics emerging. Big shifts are happening in all arenas linked to politics, finances, leadership. This aspect also carries extraordinary vitality, so you might experience a renewed sense of energy. Or consider once again, can I run a marathon, at this age? YES! If that’s what you want, you could do it. What do you want? How will you make that happen? Give some thought to those kinds of questions today.
Sun in Virgo opposite Uranus in Pisces: This once annual alignment offers the opportunity for sudden breakdowns or surprising breakthroughs depending on how you choose to live life. A feeling of liberation and release is part of this dynamic. You have worked so very hard, for so very long, to arrive where you find yourself today. Congratulations! Celebrate yourSelf today.
Last day of SolLunar cycle: This final day of the completing Lunar cycle is happening in hard-working Virgo, which means the organization bug might take hold and keep you up late into the night. As the feeling Moon aligns with mental Mercury and partnership Juno, late-night conversations with key beloveds might also take place. Sweet dreams to all of you. Tomorrow we begin the next SolLunar cycle.

OnlineStar Signposts: Week of New SolLunar Cycle October 12-19
New Moon “Earthy Dusk” photo by Lyn Dalebout
I just returned from a mini-retreat in Yellowstone where I captured this moment, captivated by the colors of dusk in the sky mirrored exactly in the sunset of this bubbling hot spring, creating new earth out of ancient volcanic waters. It truly is magic, what goes on in Yellowstone, day in, day out, for eons. By late autumn, much of the human hubbub is gone so the great silence rising up from the land can be fully experienced, absorbed, inhabited. It is a time of healing Grace.
Another dynamic week lies ahead as we converge/merge with the fierce, fiery, militaristic Mars/Jupiter conjunction in Leo. This volcanic aspect might be tempered a bit by the creative, compassionate Venus/Neptune opposition. Make plans for the coming weekend that involve some form of joyful movement, or maybe you will dive headlong/heartstrong into new creative urges and relationships. Time to frolic and express your wilder side.

As many of you readers know, I am a student/teacher of sidereal astrologer, the astrological system based on the true astronomical alignments. Starting this week, I am going to post an image to accompany my words, to help you more fully understand and appreciate the sidereal zodiac
Here’s a picture from my favorite StarWalk app that shows the literal alignment of this week’s New SolLunar cycle in the constellation of Virgo. See both Sol and Luna in midsection of Virgo? And can you also see how Mars and Jupiter are closing in on one another? Get the StarWalk app and educate yourself about our daily star weather!

Here’s a list of New Moon characteristics compliments of my friend/sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza at lunarplanner:
“Beginning the Sprouting Phase of the Lunar Cycle, expressing a New Theme: A new theme emerges. A new idea, a new concept sprouts forth. This is an inner message, an impulse expressing from a field of all possibilities deep within the unconscious mind. Often this process is one of discovery, slowly revealing a simple theme over a day or two, or it may be quite clear and specific, a spontanious message, even suggesting a major life change. The New Moon is a perfect time for meditation or a quite walk—to go within self and listen. A simple word or phrase may pop into your mind during this quite time describing the new lunar theme in a way that is unique to you, or perhaps a simple feeling or knowing will come over you. The ability to listen, honor and trust the inner is all that is required at this time. The ideal time to attune to your New Moon theme is exactly as the New Moon occurs, or at sunrise after the New Moon if the New Moon occurred during the night.”
~~~~~
Please note: I make my posts according to the Lunar cycles, posting on the New, First Quarter, Full and Third Quarter Moons. I seek to support you in working with and within the natural flow of time and energy, which will help your life flow with more ease and grace. Also, I base my interpretations and predictions on the true sidereal astronomical alignments.
Mon October 12
New SolLunar cycle in Virgo: Today’s New Moon (see picture above) is happening with both the Moon and Sun opposite the wildly experimental Uranus. Breakthroughs are possible, along with breakdowns that lead to upgrades in your technology, your nervous system, your inner realizations. What happens with today’s SolLunar launch will continue to work on you, through you in the coming four weeks. You may experience numerous awakenings, many intuitive leads (don’t get attached…just follow one lead to the next), neurological symptoms like anxiety, nervousness, even seizures, as well as spontaneous outbursts of emotion. It’s all part of the cosmic plan to seize your attention so you really are moving your life in the direction you want it to go. You are the navigator, but have you seized the wheel?
Tue October 13
Mercury in Virgo opposite Vesta in Pisces: This aspect is like the mop-up from the earlier Mercury retrograde cycle, remember that? You can always re-read my former Star Signposts on my blog if you need to refresh your memory. Mercury ~ your mind/ideas~ in analytical Virgo makes an opposition to focused Vesta in compassionate, emotional Pisces, helping you release something near and dear, like your manuscript, your beloved pet, an old way of viewing the world that is best laid to rest in order for you to thrive going forward.
Wed October 14:
Moon in Libra sextile waxing Mars/Jupiter conjunction: Thankfully, the peace-seeking Libra Moon brings a desire to partner with like-hearted colleagues on some emerging collaboration be that designing a home, imagining an upcoming adventure, planning for this coming weekend. The passionate torch of this once-every-two years conjunction of Mars and Jupiter is taking place in creative, playful, egotistical Leo. There are many choices as to how you will use this fiery portal or allow it to use you. Sparks will be flying in the coming days.
Thu Oct 15:
Mars in Leo trine Pluto in Sagittarius: This upbeat athletic alignment bodes well for great endurance to help you complete any task that currently has your attention. This aspect is like a life-coach enthusiastically encouraging you that you can and will meet your goals. Trust your own exuberance, joy, and sense of accomplishment today.
Fri Oct 16
Venus in Leo opposite Neptune in Aquarius: This aspect can call forth either deceptions surrounding love/creative endeavors, or brings you back to your truest dream, including a destined, chance encounter with a soulmate beloved. Neptune is our ruler of both magic/wonder, as well as delusional thinking. Both Venus and Neptune are portals of love, one personal, one cosmic/divine. As they come into geometric opposition, you might be wondering if you should choose intimacy and a lover, or opt for celibacy and head to the convent?
Moon/Saturn conjunction in Scorpio: This serious and at times depressive aspect is happening as you awaken from sleep (if you slept at all and weren’t up much of the night with fret). You can accomplish much with this focused alignment as well, which will carry through much of today. Something might bring limitation into your life, like a temporary lack of funds, a deep exhaustion, a feeling of being leaden or held down, all compliments of Saturn.
Sat Oct 17
Mars/Jupiter conjunction in Leo: It’s here! This planetary portal is often associated with many dynamic leaders, like being the General in the military, in charge of strategy, the most exceptional athletes, the best joyful positive educators and coaches, the most charismatic politicians, the most egocentric surgeons. Bigger means better in regards to this dynamic. So use this day to celebrate and express your surging creative urges, doing what makes you happiest, most joyful, most optimistic. May you feel a renewed sense of confidence and child-like wonder.
Sun Oct 18:
Moon in Sagittarius square Lunar Nodes: Today the Moon’s alignment with strategic Pallas Athene bodes well for making solid life plans and taking the next level of healthy risk to ensure you are ever aware of being freed of the past (symbolized by the South Node) stepping into the future (symbolized by the North Node), all the while LOVING ~ EMBRACING ~ APPRECIATING~ THE PRESENT MOMENT. ALL CAPS because I think this is one of the key truths of life: Love, embrace, appreciate the present moment.
Mon Oct 19:
Moon/Pluto in Sagittarius square Juno in Virgo: The Moon tends to indicate the overall daily emotional field happening all around us and within us. There is a way we are unified, all connected, despite our differences, in our divine planetary Field. Whenever the Moon opens the Plutonian portal of change/death/ressurection, it will tend to be a day of extreme emotions and events, both positively and negatively. As these two are in square to Juno, ruler of our key partnerships, big exciting or exaggerated changes are in store for relationships today.
First Quarter Moon
“Magic of Autumn” detail of painting by Sue Ewald Cedarholm
Consider rousing yourself from slumber early to greet the ongoing Venus/Jupiter/Mars alignment shining bright at dawn’s first light. This week we can view and experience the exact Venus/Jupiter conjunction on October 25, sure to mark a turning point for many in regards to following the guidance of your HeartLine. It is a powerhouse of a portal for sending out prayers and intentions that are emerging from your one true heart.
I know I write often about letting the heart lead, as I believe it is the wisest organ responsible for the leadership of our lives. As you know, you can be guided by many organs in your body, such as your gut instinct, your sexual desires, etc. The mind’s guidance is excellent for gathering needed information, researching, considering options. Yet in the end, if you allow your heart to lead, funneling all those other intelligences through the directive arrow of your HeartLine, surely goodness, kindness, mercy, creativity, joy, abundance will follow you all the days of your life. You may not desire any of those attributes. I, for one, find them desirable. You can use this week’s heart-based Venus/Jupiter conjunction to explore what you believe about the meaning of life, your life. Find out what works for you. Willingly discard old notions, beliefs, ideas, attitudes, and practices of a self-identity that are no longer relevant or helpful to you going forward.
Remember, it’s Back to the Future on October 21, 2015!
Thank you Sue Cedarholm for this vibrant autumn watercolor on shikishi board. You can see more of Sue’s inspiring and colorful work at InspiredWildDesigns.
From StarWalk ~ Notice the Moon entering the First Quarter phase in Capricorn
....
Here’s a list of the First Quarter Moon characteristics compliments of my friend/sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza ~ lunarplanner
“The First Quarter Moon of each lunar cycle draws an external stimulus to initiate action as we move from the inspirational quarter of the lunar cycle into the action quarter. Now is the time to drop all hesitation and take the steps to move forth on what you were inspired about…. it is time to now participate in trust and knowing. Remember, the flower that is about to burst forth from the bud is not yet visible. Trust in the process. Demonstrate this trust in physical action and you will be supported. This time is stressful or traumatic only if action is ignored. What you are putting together now is the groundwork for the manifestation of the theme. Simply, this phase is a time to work.”
Tue October 20
First Quarter Moon: Sun in Libra square Moon/Ceres in Capricorn: This aspect might create a bit of tension in regards to your closest relationships or familial/professional relationships. Libra seeks to create balance while also relating to others and can also manifest as a desire for peace and harmony. With the Moon in responsible Capricorn making a monthly conjunction with Ceres ~ nurturing and caring for self and others ~ a tension may arise today and tomorrow between the responsibilities you have to others versus the responsibility you have to also honor your own needs for nurturance. The First Quarter Moon is always about taking action. Take deep slow breathes, get clear in the direction you want to move, and then dive in, leap, take one simple step in that direction today.
Wed October 21
Back to the Future Day: There’s lots of worldly hype and hoopla around this day finally arriving, ever since it was chosen in the movie “Back to the Future” many decades ago. There may be some culturally significant events occurring today, the same way 1984 and 2012 worked on our collective psyche to create big shifts in our body politic. Give this a try: Use this day to venture to some future date in your timeline and literally see yourself engaged in that Future Self, doing the things you love, with the people and creatures you will love. Give your natural intuition free reign to see what you come up with. Make it fun, feel it for real, launch that spark of magic in your life today!
Sun in Libra square Ceres in Capricorn: This aspect mirrors yesterday’s post, so please re-read. Things get more intense today, forcing a decision or confrontation. Time to get upfront and honest about what you need so as to avoid future reoccurring dysfunction in your relationships.
Thu October 22
Mercury/Juno conjunction in Virgo: This aspect marks the completion of Mercury retrograde shadow period that started in September in regards to alignments with Juno, the planetary ruler of marriage, key partnerships. As they meet up for the final time in sidereal Virgo, it’s all about speaking honestly, openly, perhaps setting necessary boundaries to create healthier relationships, if that’s what you desire. Intense conversations are inevitable today. You can also use this aspect to harness the incredible creative power of a focused mind and have a very productive day.
Fri October 23
Venus in Leo trine Pluto in Sagittarius: Joyful news! This aspect will naturally open avenues/venues for rebirthing yourself in regards to love, money, creativity, artistic directions. Pluto is all about the natural process of evolution: completing the past, paying attention to what is being asked of you in THIS MOMENT, entering the next exciting future field. Pluto’s influence always seems to pressure us to allow for daily mini-deaths, releases, to keep us fresh and new, exactly like the natural biological forces that govern our physical health every single day. It’s a friggin’ miracle really. Support this Plutonian biological miracle by making daily healthy choices and you will live long and prosper.
Mars in Leo opposite Chiron in Aquarius: You might feel pressure building to have an honest conversation with a friend, like opening a big wound in hopes that a new level of healing might occur. Or you may actively support a friend in need, like helping them pack up and move. Or feel the activist’s desire to get more engaged in a cause you care about. Mars always seeks external expression and direct action.
Mars in Leo inconjunct Uranus in Pisces: The inconjunct implies an adjustment needs to be made in regards to some situation between the needs for self-preservation while observing another engulfed in their suffering ~ often the domain of Pisces. Only you can know which path you need to take….some of you toward choosing your own health, while others may opt to help another through a challenging time.
Moon/Neptune conjunction in Aquarius: This most friendly of aspects is great for open minded sharing, and creative collaborations magically appearing. Neptune rules the realm of the invisible world where all possibilities are imagined before they become reality. Play around in your imagination today and see what longs to be born into this physical dimension. Also, Neptune is synonymous with spaciousness or spaciness, so keep an eye out for your keys and valuables if you don’t want to spend time later looking for something you misplaced.
Sat October 24
Moon/Chiron/Vesta/South Node conjunction: This pileup of planetary energies might grab your attention today. It’s all about revisiting aspects of your past (the meaning of the South Lunar Node) in hopes of experiencing a healing portal of shift. You may also need to redirect the focus of how you have experienced your own suffering, or another’s, and find a more helpful way of seeing the situation. We are malleable and ever evolving as humans, one of our greatest gifts. The fluid energy of Pisces allows for dissolving a former pattern and flowing into a new form.
Sun October 25
Venus/Jupiter conjunction in Leo: These two ‘benefics’, as they are often called in the astrological literature, can bring some form of tender loving care and support into your life. You might find your heart brimming over with a desire to reach out to others. Open your heart despite your fear or uncertainty about what might happen in the future. This aspect knows no limits in terms of treating yourself or others to something special and desired, often of the highest quality and often costing more than you had expected to pay. Find a way to indulge your sensual delight today, so says the stars.
Mon October 26
Moon/Uranus conjunction in Pisces: This aspect precedes tomorrow’s early morning Full Moon, perhaps catalyzing a sudden clarity, like a late night epiphany. When the emotional Moon makes a monthly alignment to spontaneous, erratic Uranus, there’s always the possibility for taking an emotional risk or leap of faith, or experience a swift storm of release, all part of the grieving process. Don’t deny yourself the experience of the healing power of water in the form of life-sustaining tears.
Was just reading the Star Signpost for 10-22, so true, had a heart to heart with my 15 year old niece this morning before she went to school, needless to say it was very productive.
Happy Father's Day.
OnlineStar Signposts: Week of Full Moon October 27-November 2
Full Moon in Aries
“The Milky Way over the Grand Tetons, Wyoming” photograph the R.J. Walter
This week we will experience a very dynamic cycle, beginning with the energized, independent, activating Aries Full Moon on Tuesday and completing with the important conjunction of Mars/Venus on Monday, bringing to completion an important envisioning period that began in late August/early September.
I see myself as a reporter of the cosmic news. I want to support you in your attuning to the bigger picture, the longer view, as a way of finding meaning and creating context for the unfolding events in your life. We all lead extraordinary lives, sometimes full of drama, other times resting in relative peace and calm, often just engaged in the wonder and beauty of our daily days. I have some good news to report: the completion of the Jupiter/Venus/Mars conjunction in sidereal Leo. I find it extremely interesting that part of the sky teachings of 2015 involved going through more of a death cycle in the summer, and now as we head into the harvest of autumn, are are about to experience a rebirth/resurrection cycle.
Here’s how this astronomical cycle played itself out this summer. Venus is our planetary ruler of love, beauty, creativity in general, personal finance, self care. Remember how in late June and throughout July, we were seeing the beautiful Jupiter/ Venus conjunction just after sunset? Venus was in her Evening Star mode at that point. They were uniting in sidereal Cancer, which is a sign that is often tied to our family history, our own historical timeline, our Elders. Chances are, in the spring and summer, you experienced the passing of some of your Elders and guides, and also changed up your role in your familial relationships, revisiting your history, releasing your past, appreciating where you came from, being grateful you could let go of some old conditioning or way of being that no longer serves you and those around you.
Then Venus went retrograde late July till early September, then re-emerged as the Morning Star during this autumn cycle. In early October, Venus left Cancer and entered creative, joyful Leo, hooking up again with Jupiter and also Mars. This dynamic trio has been visible in the early dawn hours for a month now. They have been transiting the astronomical constellation of Leo, which is all about living the joy, sensuality, playfulness, creativity that naturally wants to erupt from each and every one of us. Leo is the living truth that we are meant to take charge of creating the life we truly want, and coaches us to know we have the power to do just that IF we will use the tools of manifestation we’ve been given by the divine Mystery that lives in the center of our Being.
Here’s the last part of this miraculous unfolding starry story: When Venus meets up with Mars on Monday, November 2, they will unite in the last degree of sidereal Leo, indicating the completion of the creative envisioning process of the summer, early autumn. Then both of Mars and Venus (this the miraculous part!) swiftly shift into Virgo, an astrological sign associated with doing the hard work and energetic service it takes to make our personal and collective dreams a reality. We’ve all been working on deciding what to do, now we become more the doers. This energy will support much manifestation in your life in the coming months.
Very exciting news! Read on! And thank you, Rebecca Walter , for your exquisite night sky portrait of our galactic home, the Milky Way.
Here is a brief synopsis of Full Moon characteristics that hold true to every Full Moon. Thanks again, Nick Anthony Fiorenza ~ lunarplanner ~
“The Full Moon marks the point of coition in the lunar cycle, the climax, the point of excitement, a time of celebration. The day just after the Full Moon is a time for the realization of the theme to emerge, of what the activities of the first half of the lunar cycle, culminating into the enthusiasm of the Full Moon, are really about. Relax and allow this realization to occur. There is no need to force it as it surfaces on its own.”
Please note: I make my posts according to the Lunar cycles, posting on the New, First Quarter, Full and Third Quarter Moons. I seek to support you in working with and within the natural flow of time and energy, which will help your life flow with more ease and grace. Also, I base my interpretations and predictions on the true sidereal astronomical alignments.
Here you can see our Full Moon entering the determined and pioneering energy of sidereal Aries (from StarWalk).
Tue October 27
Full Moon ~ Sun in Libra opposite Moon in Aries: As you can see in the visual star photograph above, this Full Moon is transiting through independent, determined, head-strong Aries. This aspect is great for initiating new trends in your life, yet it can also be very impatient and impetuous, taking action before you really have thought something through. I imagine a number of accidents might be happening in our world with this Full Moon, as well as the launching of new initiatives. Feel yourself as that energized focused Ram, pushing through piling-up tasks or old stagnation and doubt.
Moon in Aries trine Pluto in Sagittarius: The Moon’s supportive trine to power-packed Pluto supports the above message of strength and will to accomplish what needs to be done. Excellent day for more extreme athletic endeavors as well.
Wed October 28
Moon in Aries trine Jupiter/Venus/Mars: Keep in mind, the day after a Full Moon, we are still deeply experiencing the releases and awakenings each Full Moon brings to our Earth. Keep listening, keep paying attention, keep celebrating, all part of the Full Moon dynamic. Today the Moon in Aries makes a spectacular supportive trine to the Jupiter/Mars/Venus portal in Leo. Remember we are still in the creative envisioning period so use this week to explore and research options.
Thu October 29
Moon in Taurus square Neptune opposite Saturn in Scorpio: Notice I haven’t talked about Saturn much of late? Maybe that brings a sense of relief to many of you! We’ve been experiencing the more upbeat, expansive energy of Jupiter. But today, the more restrictive, even pessimistic energy of Saturn might need to take hold for a bit. This might manifest as the question of how to finance a project or upcoming trip. It’s about also being realistic (Saturn) about your dream (Neptune). This can feel like that moment when you are involved in painting a painting, writing a poem, cooking a meal, where you feel everything sucks and is stupid. We all know that feeling. It is an intimate part of the creative process, and you will move through it, refining your creation in the process.
Pallas Athene in Sagittarius square Vesta in Pisces: Pallas Athene represents wisdom, strategy and what is generally called ‘creative intelligence’. Vesta shows up as a focused dedication to a cause or in a certain arena. The square symbolizes decisions need to be made, work needs to be done to move forward. So in general, today is about getting serious, completing the tasks that currently have your attention.
Fri October 30
Moon in Taurus square Jupiter/Venus/Mars: Today’s financial, security-oriented Moon in Taurus continues yesterday’s theme of how to fund your dream. Steer clear of fear and hoarding, Taurus’s dark sides, and use the determination and stubbornness of Taurus’s horns to plow those fears into the ground where they are lovingly composted back into the Earth to eventually re-emerge into fresh vegetation.
Sun in Libra trine Neptune in Aquarius: This upbeat aspect happens once a year. Our harmony-seeking, beauty-loving Sun in Libra makes a waning trine to spiritual, artistic, compassionate Neptune in community-minded, revolutionary Aquarius. Spend time with community members and friends that share your interests, or reach out to those with different views. It’s easier to find common, universal ground today.
Sat October 31
Grand Trine: Moon in Gemini ~ Sun in Libra ~ Neptune in Aquarius: This energy builds upon yesterday’s forecast and today Luna joins the mix in curious, mercurial Gemini, forming the flowing, grand trine, one of astrology’s most grace-filled aspects. Gemini loves to take short journeys, read, multitask, gab. What a wonderful energy this will be for those of you who celebrate Halloween.
For those of you who don’t know this, this day is actually an Earthly HolyDay. It is called a cross-quarter holiday and it honors the astronomical fact that our Sun sits halfway between Autumnal Equinox and Winter Solstice. There can be a turning point kind of feel with this energy. Time to embrace the dark of yourself, or enter this darkest time of year (for our Northern Hemisphere) with consciousness and gratitude.
Sun November 1
Pallas Athene squares the Lunar Nodes: Keeping in mind what I wrote in my introduction about tomorrow, this aspect also carries a turning point kind of energy. This is All Souls Day, the Day of the Dead, and it is particularly fitting this year given the completions we experienced with our ancestors, Elders, etc. As wise Pallas Athene makes a square to the Lunar Nodes, we can integrating our past and future longings, as well as strategize our next moves.
Mon November 2
Venus/Mars conjunction: Please re-read my introduction to fully appreciate the momentousness of today’s transit. In addition, whenever we have a fusion of Venus ~ what you want ~ with Mars ~ taking action ~ you can experience a profound integration and fusion of those two parts of yourself. And I am re-posting this part into today’s post:
“Here’s the last part of this miraculous unfolding starry story: When Venus meets up with Mars on Monday, November 2, they will unite in the last degree of sidereal Leo, indicating the completion of the creative envisioning process of the summer, early autumn. Then both of Mars and Venus (this the miraculous part!) swiftly shift into Virgo, an astrological sign associated with doing the hard work and energetic service it takes to make our personal and collective dreams a reality. We’ve all been working on deciding what to do, now we become more the doers. This energy will support much manifestation in your life in the coming months.”
Moon in Cancer square Mercury in Libra: The secretive, moody Cancer Moon makes a challenging square to open-minded, relational Mercury in Libra, stimulating tugs and pulls in our communications with key partners, hopefully while speaking honestly about each person’s needs.
OnlineStar Signposts: Week of Last Quarter Moon November 3-10
Last Quarter Moon
“Out of the Clouds” watercolor by Sue Ewald Cedarholm
Winter is beginning to land here in the Tetons and elsewhere around the globe. This week marks the completion phase of this SolLunar cycle and with it comes a sense of bringing things to completion, even closure. It’s a fairly calm week ahead, from the astrological perspective.
Not so last week, and as a reminder of the potency of last week’s transits that you continue to integrate into you life this week, I am reposting what I wrote for November 2:
“When Venus meets up with Mars on Monday, November 2, they will unite in the last degree of sidereal Leo, indicating the completion of the creative envisioning process of the summer, early autumn. Then both of Mars and Venus (this the miraculous part!) swiftly shift into Virgo, an astrological sign associated with doing the hard work and energetic service it takes to make our personal and collective dreams a reality. We’ve all been working on deciding what to do, now we become more the doers. This energy will support much manifestation in your life in the coming months.”
Thank you Sue for your watercolor portrait of the Grand Teton. If you are a local, or visiting Jackson Hole, Wyoming, check out Sue’s current show, both paintings and scarves, on display at Cowboy Coffee on the northwest corner of Town Square. Here is a description of the qualities of the Last Quarter Moon phase compliments of my friend and sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza at lunarplanner:
“This phase completes with our Inner Needs surfacing to consciousness, to become aware of what is important to self and what is not. A sense of completion comes forth with a recognition that the past scenario has served its purpose and it is time to leave what is antiquated behind. Essentially a lesser self is what we will be shedding. Step forth from old facades, and free yourself from past ways of participating in life. Knowing now what our Truth is, it is time to consciously live it. Doing so provides a choice for others to also live theirs. Changing allows us to spiral to a new octave of experience—one that will eventually sprout in the next lunar cycle to come.”
Please note: I make my posts according to the Lunar cycles, posting on the New, First Quarter, Full and Last Quarter Moons. My hope is to support you to work with and within the natural flow of time, the Thirteen Moons of each year, which can help your life flow with more ease and grace. Also, I base my interpretations and predictions on the true sidereal astronomical alignments.
Tue November 3
Last Quarter Moon: The stay-at-home Cancer Moon is happening for the next couple of days, so you might want to or need to work from home. Today it makes a decision-making square to the Sun in relational Libra so family and relationship councilors might get extra slammed with last minute calls. Hold a family meeting if it’s something you have been putting off. Lastly, time to put your garden to bed, preparing your land for the deep restorative rest of the coming winter.
Venus/Mars conjunction in Virgo: This aspect is still strongly at work over the next few days. Enjoy an extra spurt of organizing energy or cook up super healthy nourishing soups and stews. Virgo rules our intestinal health, and warm soupy food makes the bowels happy and regular. Upgrade to an even better probiotic to ensure your immune system is in fine functioning order as we head into the ‘cold’ and colder seasons. And whenever Venus ~ what we love to do, be, experience ~ merges with Mars ~ taking action ~ there is a fusion of Self in terms of being able to take immediate action steps on behalf of our values, dreams, hopes, desires. Nice.
Jupiter in Leo opposite Chiron in Aquarius: This rare aspect might manifest as a supportive coaching session with a hurting friend or community member. Or it might re-open a still-healing wound and encourage everyone to find the best solution going forward for all. For designers and creative thinkers and doers, you might stumble upon an out-of-the-box solution to a nagging creative problem you’ve been working on for quite a while.
Wed November 4
Moon enters Leo: It’s a very mild day in the astrological weather world, nothing major to report. But the Moon will leave home-body, private Cancer, where it has resided the past three days, and enter outgoing Leo for the coming three days.
Thu November 5
Moon in Leo square Saturn in Scorpio: This aspect happens in the early morning hours and makes for a more serious tone to begin the day. This includes the need to get off the fence and commit (that’s what a square means) so book those tickets, sign up for that class, make a budget, a vow and stick to it.
Sun in Libra sextile Pluto in Sagittarius: The sextile aspect in astrology is titillating and exciting. Our Sun is currently in relationship-loving and peacemaking Libra and today sextiles probing and provocative Pluto. Conversations and interactions go deeper than ever before with a desire and willingness to explore uncharted terrain.
Moon/Jupiter conjunction in Leo: This aspect is forming late in the evening so if you don’t turn in early, you might experience a surprising burst of energy and enthusiasm surrounding a creative project. Or dance and sing wildly to loud music, frolic and play with a beloved.
Fri November 6
Mercury in Libra trine Neptune in Aquarius: This wonderfully imaginative dreamy aspect is exact just as you are waking up. A very insightful dream or message is right at your fingertips so be sure you have your journal nearby to capture the wisdom of your dream. Dreams are one of the truest trustable sources of guidance, and they are always free! In addition, you might suddenly want to contact an old friend this morning so follow your intuition in regards to who might also be reaching out to you.
Moon/Jupiter/Mars/Venus in Leo: Be sure to experience the visual delight of this aspect right before dawn today and tomorrow morning as all four are in a forceful focused conjunction in dramatic, showy, artistically inspired Leo. There is sure to be plenty of celebration this weekend under the fun-loving auspices of this joyful alignment. Keep in mind, Jupiter’s influence often brings excessive and over-the-top behaviors, including aggression (Mars’s possible influence). Steer clear of those who you sense are out of control.
Sat November 7
Moon/Mars/Venus conjunction in Virgo: Because this aspect closely follows last night’s possible over-imbibing, over-the-top behaviors, this morning you are ready to take the necessary more disciplined steps to rest and heal from over-doing it. Or if you found yourself taking a surprising leap into someone’s arms or committing to a new adventure last night, this morning you might wake up with great reserve and a desire to create boundaries or rethink your options ~ Virgo’s influence. This aspect is excellent for doing community service, another arena Virgo adores. And you might feel a desire for health, better health, and greater health so spend extra time and money today at your favorite health food store, exploring a new restaurant with different food options.
Sun November 8
Moon in Virgo squaring Pluto and opposing Uranus: This monthly aspect can create the need to rethink your plans, coming up with surprising alternatives, or it might manifest as a brewing crisis coming to a head. It’s good to know though that Virgo’s influence on the Moon can bring cooler heads and helpful solutions. Find ways to calm the body today by doing extra deep breathing, stretching, spending time in pristine nature, and making better nutritional choices.
Venus/North Lunar Node conjunction in Virgo: Once a year, our planetary ruler of love, creative drives, personal values and our financial choices makes a conjunction with the North Lunar Node, synonymous with our future direction. Today’s alignment means you might be setting boundaries with someone or making a choice in regards to a health choice. There will be a feeling of ‘no going back’, it’s time to move forward.
Mon November 9
Sun in Libra trine Chiron in Aquarius: This supportive aspect is like a helping hand showing up in a miraculous way. Chiron functions often as a healing influence and often manifests as a what we perceive is a miracle. Chiron shows us that magic is part of life on Earth if we are open to the possibility. Team up with a partner or friend today and share what magic and miracles you desire to manifest in your field of possibilities. We need to support one another in this emerging Field of Possibility.
Moon/Juno conjunction in Virgo: This aspect happens just after midnight. Juno is the ruler of all our key relationships, both personal and professional. You might wake up with a pressing need to talk something through with a mate, or you might feel absolutely clear about what partnerships serve you best, willing to release the rest.
Tue November 10
Sun in Libra sextile Jupiter in Leo: This upbeat jubilant aspect is sure to bring a renewed sense of optimism or good luck appearing out of the blue. It’s like a blue sky day, sunny, full of warmth, so soak up the grace of this fleeting aspect.
Moon/Mercury conjunction in Libra: This very talkative aspect closes out the last SolLunar cycle (tomorrow is New Moon and a new SolLunar cycle begins). A last minute key conversation with those nearest and dearest to you might bring sudden clarity about a choice that needs to be made.
