The 3 tickets in VA looK  like they were all sold at the same store...so someone bought 3 tickets without the multiplier??? So they will win 3 million vs $12 million before taxes ???? Omg.

    Artist77,

    From the thread in News:

In the same drawing, the wealth was really spread around, as a total of 14 lucky players matched the first 5 numbers for a $1,000,000 prize: 1 from California, 1 from Georgia, 1 from Kentucky, 1 from Minnesota, 1 from New Jersey, 2 from New York, 1 from North Carolina, 1 from Pennsylvania, 1 from Texas, 3 from Virginia, and 1 from Washington.

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

I know Coin toss but it looks like the person had a hunch so bought 3...has to be one person. If you have a hunch, spend the extra dollar. Lol And none of them spent that extra dollar....too dumb. Chair

That's why smart players always play MM with the megaplier.  BashWhat a waste but it is still better than nothing.

I think you are correct that it's most likely one winner/group that had all three winning tickets....not a bad payout.

Looks like they had a hunch on the first 5 numbers, so spent their $3 budget on different red balls hoping to get the big one.

I don't buy megaplier either.  Would rather have that extra ticket to try to hit the 5+0 instead.

I'm guessing what they did was pick the same white balls for all three, with different megaballs, trying to improve their odds of a jackpot. They should have spent the extra $12 for all the other megaball possibilities.

There comes a point where spending an extra dollar on a second line is a (probabilistically) better use of your money than spending that dollar on the megaplier, and this jackpot was past that point.

They were smart enough (or lucky enough) to hit the five white balls--maybe they didn't have "extra" money.  Congratulations to them Smile

To those of you "smart" players who powered up your losing tickets--would you rather have $3 million or "a poke in the nose"?

                  LOL  better luck next time.

If that extra ticket did hit 5 + 0 wouldn't you then wish you had the megaplier?

The additional dollar could be worth $1million to $4 million more.

The group or individual could have been playing several combinations and completed them with their 3 favorite mega balls. Playing all MBs in this instance might have proved cost prohibitive.

I have tried this strategy for PB but it turned out to be too rich for my pockets so I stopped. I know people who play pick 3 & 4 do this all the time

The Megaplier is really a "What if?" side/sucker bet. They trade on peoples' anxiety and therefore I wouldn't play it out of principle.

I've been playing megaplier for the past month and  not even been coming close
