Not the dictionary' s  definition, but yours? Do you think that some people are predisposed to win the lottery or is it as some folks * meself included advocate" Being in the right place at the right time?". One of the member's signature says " Luck favors the prepared"..cute, but are we not all prepared or do you think you are totally unprepared to win? Thoughts anyone?

Surely LUCK plays a big part in any equation, but the second part, FATE may even be a stronger trump in the final analysis

First of all you need that strong bankroll. You couldn't bet like a Gates, a Buffett or a Trump at lotto. You need the luck!

I always considered "luck" to be a similar but lesser form of grace...an unmerited gift from God.

Oh, there's so many examples. Remember the female corrections officer in NY that thought she played MM, but had played PB and won the jackpot!

The 19 year old girl in Georgia that won a jackpot with the first tickets she ever played.

                  Just two of many.

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

I guess I subscribe to "The harder I work, the luckier I get" theory.  A lot of lottery winners have been playing a long time; some buy lots of tickets; some play the same numbers until they hit; or focus on one scratch game until they win. I consider all of those actions as work.

The person who just decided to play one time and just happened to get a winner is either lucky or blessed.

I would say luck is receiving something positive in ones' life that wasn't expected to occur, or even necessarily thought about as occurring.  Usually the event is preceded with the words "I can't believe".  As examples:

                          I can't believe I passed that test!

I can't believe I got a date with the little red head!

I can't believe I got this plush job!

I can't believe we had triplets! (well maybe not)

I can't believe I have a trust fund that nobody told me about!

I can't believe I won the lottery jackpot!

                          Lep

I'm feeling a jackpot win coming my way!

Absolutely Sully. Like this mornings lottery news. Mr Meadows from California goes from winning $1000.00 to $10 mil minutes apart. How scary is that?
