There's no kind of "good" that would increase my chances of winning, so the only rational choice is to want to be lucky.

What do you mean by "Good" ??  Do you mean that you are good at selecting numbers, or you have a good lottery system that you're working with, or something else "good" ???

I'd rather be lucky...lots of good players out there, but the lucky ones win the JPs.

There are some folk who are pretty" good" at playing the horses. Some here are pretty" good" at pick 3 & so forth-that good as an example Floydster.

An old seasoned lottery player told me one time that CONSISTENCY in playing the game is 1% luck and 99 % concentration !

Sometimes it's extremely difficult if not practically impossible to get people to disregard the smoke and mirrors.  Instead, they seem to enjoy the ride down the proverbial Garden Path....... helpless to extricate themselves from being totally deceived by known forces in their midst who would argue that they have come here for the sole purpose of helping people.......str8ca$hhomie

I feel that this question is dependant upon the game being played because it does make a difference. In my honest opinion, a player only needs to be good more often than not good with the smaller games i.e. Pick 3/4. These games are controllable from the player which can allow them to generate reasonably consistent wins and keep some money in their pockets. In turn, the wins from Pick 3 can then be also used to finance playing the jackpot games which surely require pure luck for the player to win. There's no controlling a game with a range of (75) numbers + (1) lone ranger but, when a player is taking a portion of their winnings from an easy game to play the very hard one's, the losses are more manageable and are actually being afforded by someone else that's not so good on small games. To me, it's just business sense with moving money from here to there for a shot at something big at the expense of others...stock market gurus do it every single day. So, yeah, being good on one game will allow shots at the other, and, just maybe win some day. I believe in making things easy on myself, heck, life is hard enough already.

Small games, frequent wins, and regular payouts 'cause.....

There are seven days in the week...'Someday' isn't one of them.

If you want to win regularly good is better. If you're good at the Pick 3, 4 you can do pretty well at it.

But with the jackpot games, when you consider that with 292,000,000 to 1 odds, every single person old enough to play could buy one ticket and there still may not be a winner, well then if you win it's all luck.

The numbers will tell you what numbers to play. Pay attention to the numbers.

Don't just think outside the box, crush it.
