For players such as myself that don't live in PA, there's a hidden danger in buying raffle tickets.
Because I live in New York and have a about a 45 minute drive to the NY/PA border, when I buy tickets, I buy a set of 7 tickets for my office pool at work. I'm forced into doing that because it'd be very impractical for me to drive to 45 minutes to PA day after day.
In past raffles, I bought a set of seven tickets and received a set of numbers that look something like this;
XXX100
XXX101
XXX103
XXX104
XXX105
XXX106
XXX109
Now, I understand how/why that happens, and I accept the fact that it will very likely happen. (especially late in the sales cycle) But suppose ticket number XXX102 was drawn as a million dollar prize winner!!!! I'm willing to bet $500 that it has already happened to someone. We, the raffle playing public, never hear about it, but I'm sure the PA Lottery is aware of the fact that it's happened to someone. I never wanna be the guy who bought ticket numbers XXX101 and XXX103. (Although when I go to PA, I could avoid this situation from happening by buying a single ticket in one store, go to a different store and buy another ticket etc until I've bought a set of 7 tickets.) So if you live in PA, and plan to buy multiple tickets, do yourself a favor and buy just one ticket a day! Good luck to all tonite!! G5
