Not going to disclose anything or asking for any number picking systems. But I have my own unique way of choosing numbers and often come close to the winning numbers.

My ticket for 05/31/2017 drawing. The first five numbers were just a few numbers off from the winning numbers.

Just thought it was something interesting to share. Or maybe I'm just grasping at straws ?

For me, I don't pay attention to 'how close' I was; Either I won money or I didn't.

Real close. I go to USA Mega, hold my ticket up to the screen to compare my numbers against those drawn and if I'm not wearing my glasses, I have to get really close to the winning numbers to make 'em out.

No you don't. A miss is as good as a mile, and depending on the game the lottery picks balls or electrons. That the numbers associated with those balls or electrons have some relationship to the winning balls or electrons means nothing.

To me, "one-offs" don't make any difference. It doesn't matter if you're one-off, or twenty-off, you lost.

But here's the situation where I never want to have a "one-off". I play the Pennsylvania Millionaire Raffle. Players don't get to pick numbers, the lottery terminal assigns the buyer of a ticket (or tickets) the next available six digit number.

In past raffles, I bought multiple tickets in one shot , but sometimes the ticket numbers I received were not completely in sequence. Instead, a number was missing. (It was skipped because someone was buying a ticket elsewhere in The State of Pennsylvania at the exact same time I was buying my tickets, and they got the number that I didn't get.)

Skip ahead in time to the day after the drawing. I'm checking my numbers and find that the number I didn't get won a million dollars! How bad does that suck???? What if I had the six digit number immediately before the winning number, and I had the six digit number immediately after the winning number? Not good.

There's been quite a few raffles since PA started offering them in the early 2000's. I bet it's happened.

And yes, I do know better than to buy multiple tickets in one fell swoop, but because I have to drive an hour to get them, I don't bother to buy just one at a time. G5

True if someone buys quick picks or plays the same numbers every day. If someone has a system... i.e. trend or whatever, then being close is encouraging. I'm talking RNG computers, nothing man-made is totally random and as such, it can be predictable to a certain extent. Wana see random? Look at raindrops hitting a sidewalk during a rainstorm.

What other parameters are there to be usedin a numbers game? You can actually only be one off or two-off three off or four off max on each digit in a win 4 draw.

Simplify..

l couldn't resist LIGB.

That's like saying l was standing at a cross section and Jennifer Lawrence was a couple of feet away from me.l couldn't look her in the eye,but next time l am going to hold her hand.

I Have had a few draws where I have been off by 1 number for each number. posted a pick of a power ball draw a few years ago every number was 1 off. prob still on my facebook somewhere
