Is what you want to do is to have people serve to their own selves their own LotSoft draws updates?
That is to have each person setup in their on computer a sort of FTP server and then you will post a download link here on L.P. of a draws file and each person will download it to their own computers and then they will start-run their copy of LotSoft and from LotSoft they will update their LotSoft draws using their own FTP on their own computer which will also be up and running at the same time that their copy of LotSoft is running?
Can a person have both a FTP server and FTP client running at the same time on their own computers and serving themselves data from their computer to their own computer at the very same time?
I have before used FTP clients, but mostly very many years ago, like more than 10 years ago maybe.
But I have never setup a FTP server on my computer and I don't know anything at all about FTP servers.
I use WinXP, I will try to see how many or if any of the free FTP servers that I just found and downloaded works which WinXP and then I will try to use them and see if I can figure out how they work more or less, then I will start-run and FTP client and see if I can thru the Internet or whatever serve to my own selve that is transfer a file from my own computer using my FTP server to my own computer again, for example maybe something like sending a file from the desktop or whatever to the documents folder using both the FTP server and the FTP client, you know it sounds like a crazy thing to do and who knows if it can be done or not.
It would have been better if LotSoft had been made to MASS UPDATE all the draws on it ALL AT ONCE from some sort of file that a person would download from somewhere on the Internet and put on their desktop, without the need of having to setup a server on their own computer so they could tranfer draws from their computer into the LotSoft program.
As it is now LotSoft is setup to update its draws in 3 ways:
One draw at a time on a particular game, state and daily draw.
Many draws at once using the import function on a particular game (pick 3 or pick 4), state and daily draw.
Or thru the Internet from some FTP server site somewhere or whatever and it can be a MASSIVE update of draws, maybe even all states and daily draws at once.
I still think that those people who use LotSoft everyday should try to restrict themselves to using and updating the pick 3 and pick 4 games of only 1 to 4 states and to do so by hand 1 draw at a time, after all, here at L.P. Todd shows the past lottery results.
A person just has to enter them into the LotSoft program and then recalculate the statistics.
Too bad that Ricky didn't make a partnership with Todd, LotSoft could have been made to update its draws from one of Todd's FTP data servers, it would have been free for those with a particular level of paid membership, they could update their draws so long as they were paid members of that particular level of membership.
If you do believe that you own the rights to LotSoftPro 5 then maybe you can partner with Todd on that, he himself can serve the updates, after all, he gets and updates the draws everyday, now he only needs to serve them to members who use LotSoftPro 5.
Well, it was just an idea.
Anyhow, How big are the combined database of past draws that you use on your server for the updating of LotSoft, that is how many MBs big?
Also, how many past draws are kept on it for each daily game? I would think that something from the past 100 up to the past 1000 past draws for each daily game would be enough, perhaps the last 300 past draws for each daily game should be more than enough for most people, even the last 200 past draws for each daily game might be enough, if the past draws database is or gets way too big then the last 50 to the last 100 past draws would have to be enough.
