  I get what you are saying. But in the news story the PA lottery suggested it was the first time they came across a trustee that was adamant about not revealing the actual winner(s) name(s). I don't think any other PA lottery jackpot has been claimed anonymously prior to this. I have played in PA and I called the lottery and asked if I can claim anonymously through a trust, the answer was flat out no...same answer in CT and VA. 

  I am happy about this turn of events in PA, I will be more inclined to get advanced tix when I pass thru. Just surprised and thought I should share given PA is not listed as an anonymous state on most list of states that allow a winner to claim anonymously.

  Why bother to be anonymous?  I’ll have a big press conference and maybe even get my own reality TV show when I win.

  The story about the anonymous claim was published at Lottery Post back on April 30.  (This is old news.)

  If you are looking for a news story about the lottery (the original poster here said "I did not see a post on this in the discussion forum, so started this thread"), it is easy to find what you are looking for.

  Of course you can use Search to find anything on Lottery Post.  Just type the search terms in the Search area in the upper-right part of the page.  For example, if you type "powerball pennsylvania" in the space and then click the News option when you get to the search page, the story is shown.

  Or, an even easier technique is to use the Tag Cloud.  (Available in the Resources menu.)

  Every single news story on Lottery Post is tagged with multiple keywords that describe its content.  Just click any of the keywords shown in the tag cloud to get a listing of all the news stories containing that keyword.  (Shown with the most recent story first.)

  So if you went to the Tag Cloud and clicked "Powerball", it is shown as the fourth story down.  If you clicked on "Pennsylvania" in the Tag Cloud, it is shown as the fourth story down.  If you clicked on "Anonymous" in the Tag Cloud, it is shown as the fifth story down.  And so on.

  All the keywords that are tagged to a news story are shown directly on the news story (to the right of the article — right under the Related Stories section), so you don't need to guess what they are.

  Finally, it is a rule on Lottery Post that news stories cannot be posted in the forums.  So if you're looking for a news story, don't look in the forums.  Only look in the News section, using Search or the Tag Cloud — or by clicking "News" on the left side of any page.

  Thanks Todd. I somehow missed the related article. But u was not trying to post as a news story, moreso wanted to discuss the potential to claim anonymously even in a state that is in favor of disclosing name, city and state of the winner.

  I will keep the rule you pointed out in mind next go round.

  I understand what you're saying, but the discussion about a news story would typically take place in the comments section of the news story, rather in a redundant thread.  Of course if a news story is older and it's comments have closed, then it is perfectly fine to create a new discussion thread that revives the discussion about it.  In that case, including a link to the original news story in the first post is a good idea in order to give people an idea of what it is referring to.
