This morning when I logged on to my lottery software, there was a message sent to all users of the software by the company that sells it. (Interestingly the company is located in Clearwater) The message talked about the fact that FF5 now has two drawings per day, and if users want, there is a way to filter out the midday drawings, and just use/see data from the evening drawings. The message had instructions in it as to how to filter out the midday draws.
So I now have a decision to make and that's do I want to filter out the midday drawings and only use data from the evening drawings, or do I do nothing and use data from both the midday and evening drawings. Right now, I'm thinking I should keep the data from the midday draws and use it in combination with the evening drawings. That's because many times when I pick numbers to play, the numbers I pick came from the most recent drawing. I usually play repeaters because 43% of all FF5 drawings have at least one winning number that was drawn in the previous drawing. I also like to play "adjacents". An adjacent number is a number that is immediately adjacent to (either one lower or one higher) a winning number that was drawn in the most recent drawing. 41% of all FF5 drawings have had at least one adjacent number from the previous drawing. As you can see there's a good chance that a repeater or an adjacent will be drawn. Using this strategy is why I think I win a lot of Free Tickets.
If I eliminate midday draws, then I wont be using the most recent drawing when selecting a repeater or an adjacent. The software doesn't care how many draws per day are held, just as it doesn't care if there are only two drawings per week, as is the case with Jackpot Triple Play.
It's my guess that the top hitter of any given year will now have approximately 120 hits. (Usually with just one draw per day the top hitter of the year had 60 hits) The evening jackpots will be the bigger of the two drawings so I think I'll skip the midday drawing and only play during the evening draws but use the data from all draws. Today is Friday (usually Friday has a BIG jackpot) and the evening jackpots amounts have been about $140,000. (not split among multiple winners) There is that promotion going on right now, so the jackpot amounts are probably higher than they will be when it ends. It should be interesting to see what the jackpot amounts for today's midday draw as well as tonights will be. G5
