Before you play there are 2 choices to make. Low sum or high sum and consecutive pair or no consecutive pair. Choose correctly and you go from 120 combos down to 30. Not a bad starting point.

As members can see, I was not participating in this topic yet nutty Stats tried to bring me into in and falsely claim I made a statement about taxing lottery winnings. He is obsessed with several members.

The US taxes income and whether gambling was a full time profession or not, it would have absolutely zero effect on it being considered taxable income. It is taxable income and no court case could change that fact unless Congress amended the Tax code. It was another moronic statement by him.

You have to remember that this is the moron who posted about 1 being a multiple of 5 and has financial institutions tracking him down for bad debt.

Better off sticking to state games. I usually go for 10 or 20 tickets for the PB , so instead I'll do it all on the 1$ state lottery. It may be less to win but there's a better chance. Anyone who wins in the US has to pay taxes, which helps our roads and funds other services. Whoever wins in another country benefits that country 100%
A real estate agent, the seller, a dealership, local, state and natiowide charities, etc.
Do people really think that if a Britt wins they'll come running to the US to share their winnings and help the local economy? lol God knows Europe and probably the whole world despises Americans

They talk about the jackpot increasing rapidly, but who cares about that if we now have millions more taking that chance from Americans. We don't need billion dollar jackpots, we need more smaller wins to spread the wealth within our borders.

Greed... nothing but greed from the directors and the middle finger to tax paying Americans..... as always.

So yeah, this is wrong in SOOO MANY LEVELS.

Here's a fun fact: in the history of lotteries single winner has been somebody that that didn't contribute much of anything even if they played every drawing up until they drawing they won.

As usual, or grasp of reality has resulted in an opinion unsupported by reality. The amount of money that goes to any particular place tends to match how much money comes from those places.

Possibly it's your misunderstanding. There are some limitations on gambling across borders but while some states have expressed interest in restricting lottery couriers, they seem to offer a legal way to buy tickets without being in the jurisdiction offering the game.

When PB is offered in the UK a UK winner will be playing a UK game. It's pretty much the same as a winner in a US state winning a game that's also played in 45ish other states and territories. As for moving money out of (or into) the US, there are reporting requirements for large sums but there are no US taxes simply as a result of moving money from one place to another.

It's because some of us understand the connection between where the money comes from, where the money goes, and the probability of somebody winning. If your failure to understand that doesn't stop you from playing a game where the winner will usually be in a different state than the one you played in there's no sensible reason to have an issue with the game being offered anywhere else, either.

why the hell does anyone need to justify why they don't want to play certain games after they make a big change? "i don't like this game anymore because it now has xyz" is a statement of personal preference, not a supreme court argument.

I'd rather that the powerball sells in the uk but the price and odds remain the same, than that they raise the price to $5 the way megamillions did.

I guess that they're all trying to get more money in. They're just using a different approach. And I'll keep dreaming for $2 rather than for $5.
