WSLS,

A word on the Pick-4....

The P4 permutation file is corrupt.  Meaning that it is not entirely accurate.  So using the permutation limit filter with the P4 will produce flawed combinations.  The file is named combo4a.txt.....

I tackled it once, but it is too much for this one man to complete.  10k lines is a lot to debug.

If any developers could give me a hand by generating this permutation file, it would be most appreciated.  I'll replace the one in the zip file and host the new combo4a so everyone can replace the copy they are using currently.  I would do it myself but I'm terrible with FOR NEXT loops.

Thanks,

    George,

Do you want someone to correct the combo4a.txt file?

Are there duplicates in the list of the 10,000 Pick 4 numbers?

    Thank,

    wsls

      WSLS,

Yes, if possible.  Here are a few examples:

      9677-9767-9776-6977-6797-6779-6767-6776-7967-7976-7697-7679-7796-7769

There are errors like these throughout the file.

If it's the Straight list those don't look like errors.  BobP

          Bob,

The numbers to the right of the first number are supposed to be all of it's permutations.

              Reddog,

George can certainly correct me if I am in error, but I suspect what your problem is, is that you are thinking that a "sed file" i.e. Profile for SMWS (set of specific parameters) is going to show the exact same results for every state's game that it is used for.....But since these profiles are run against particular state's drawfiles, and each state has a different drawfile (because each state's draw rersults are different each day) a Profile that works for one state may not work for another. In Wisconsin, for instance, it is virtually impossible to use/produce any Profile that involves using an Unbiased Matrix. That is simply the nature of my state's game.

Try loading your state drawfile (the 25 draws) then load the Profile again and run "Check". WHen it gives you the "cannot compute matrix" text, start by changing (just experiment) one of the parameters at a time, click "Check" again and keep doing that until you find a set of parameters that produces a computed matrix. Once there, click "save Profile" so you don't lose those settings. Then you can continue to experiment with that profile until you can perhaps find an even high Hit Ratio, then save that as another Profile (give it a differtent name) This is one way, as I see it, to build yourself a bunch of profiles to use in the future. You can "cherry pick" -- since your Pick 3 game will change over time as the draws are made, you can fiddle a round using different profiles on any given day, until you find one that produces the highest Hit Ratio. Then Click on the Run Matrix and Show Combos and use those combos as your basis for that day.

IF anyone is looking for some kind of "Click here and get one combo that will win tonight" software, it aint gonna happen. Nobody can do that. If they could, the lotteries would go out of business. But George has a really neat program here, and one that is fun to use and experiment with -- you could do a lot worse.  You just have to put in some effort and time (which you must do with anything to be successful) and I think IMHO it will serve you well.

                retxx,

                Load yuor drawfile.

Load the Profile (the sed file that Winsum sent you)

                Click on the "Check" button.

That should be all you need to do to show something. Nothing will show up in the windows if all you do is load the files. You have to click "check"

The following Profile (sed file) produced a 196% Hit Ratio as of yesterday's draw in Wisconsin (027)

Tonight's draw was 432 -- I never bet 3 sonsecutive digits because the probability of this happening is too meager for me. Also it was a SSS draw (ref Spike/Trough filters) and SSS draws don't happen enough in our game to make it worthwhile.

However, after the 432 draw, the same sed file (below) shows a 10-day backcheck hit ratio of 366.66%

Evidently I'm not understanding the way the Hit Ratio is computed. BUt here is the Profile mentioned above (sed file) - Remember this is for WISCONSIN so  it probably won't show the same hit ratio for other state's games...
