I like the idea of the roll down feature (other than the fact that it doesn't extend to the 2 of 6 level - still only a single free ticket for a 2 catch). The problem is that sales appear to be slow so far and that it's taking forever to get there (after 9 drawings through 10/11 the jackpot is still only $1,738,488 - I earlier thought there was a chance of a roll down on Thursday but now it appears that it will likely not be until next Monday {assuming nobody hits the pot outright}).

At the current rate we're only going to see 4-5 roll downs per year, with no chance of the grand prize being much more than about $2.2 million.

I wonder why ticket sales are so slow. I think the $2 cost is more of a barrier than the lottery might have thought.

Another interesting thing is that with a $2 ticket, the lottery has priced themselves out of season ticket sales, so they won't get that revenue that might increase jackpots faster.

That's the state's estimate, but I have my doubts - it would take an increase from Monday's jackpot of almost $262K to push the pot into rolldown range and they haven't come close to that in any drawing yet (the closest was $207K betwen the 3rd and 4th drawings - I'm still not sure if the potential of a roll down can draw money into this particular draw).

i think they may need to reduce the price of the tickets.

I've redone my website.  Go to www.dr-ew.com.  I kept a lot of the old stuff, and I've added some new stuff.  Look for more new stuff in the coming weeks.

i see ca$h winfall to be a harder, more expensive version of FL's mega money.  think about it.  2 draws a week, jackpot starts at $500,000, and rolls down at $2 million.

                      >They kept pushing the Mass Megabucks (Pick6/30) numbers up from 30, then to 36 and then finally, to 42.

I wish Megabucks would go back to 36 numbers. Then it would be fun again. I don't think it matters anymore if jackpots slowly climb to $10 million or more, people who want huge jackpots will skip Megabucks and play Megamillions.  The increasing size of the jackpot is no longer the big sales draw it once was.  But if there were better odds and regular winners of between $400,000 and $1 million, that would be a draw to me. But that's not going to happen with 42 numbers. Will the announced Megabucks "fix" roll it back to 36 numbers? I doubt it.

I agree, I would have liked to have seen MassMillions end with no immediate replacement game, then do the Megabucks changes. They should have given people a little break before attempting the $2 gouging. As long as Winfall costs $2, I will be hoping it goes down the tubes.

i think Ca$h Winfall should be done away with.  if anything, MA should learn from this past winfall that they are not selling enough tickets, and the big factor is the $2 price.

Ca$h WinFall is far better than "Unlucky for Life".

you state a good point, but i think MA would have been better off with revamping Mass Millions.

                              From the MA lottery site:

                              >With the roll-down, four lucky players matched 5 of 6 numbers to win $134,767.00 (the previous winnings for 5-of-6 numbers was $4,000). Another 517 tickets matched 4 of 6 numbers to win $1,999.00, and 8,767 tickets matched 3 of 6 numbers to win $66.00.

This makes me wonder...even if you loved getting your $2 Winfall ticket, why would anyone want to play it on a non-winfall drawing? Why not let someone else pay to build the pot and then try to collect their money?
