Maybe the last time that I used Internet Explorer I used Internet Explorer 6, I use WinXP so I can't use some versions of Internet Explorer.

Edgar Hoover, while I would like to say that they don't make them like him anymore, they do.

Anyhow, I do much prefer not to use the Chrome browser  and Chrome based browsers and have them know everything that I do and or don't, but they know anyway, there is no way out of that, that also goes for Microsoft with Windows and mostly now with Windows 10 and also with the government not to mention also everybody else out there and in here.

There is Firefox, but they now also want to get into everything and also maybe make a dollar or two.

But they might have changed their mind some about that, also there are the browsers based on Firefox.

Probably there is no such thing as a really secure browser, just as there might also not be a really secure operating system, not only their makers might have put back-doors on all of them, but if not there are those who make their own doors in and out anyway.

They say that rules were made to be broken and I guess that browsers and operating systems were also made to be broken, not to mention Web-Sites, passwords, software, files, Etc.

I like Firefox and browsers based on it maybe because Firefox has been the browser that has given me fewer problems than all the others.

So Firefox and Firefox based browsers is what I use and what I have used for a very long time.

Except for Comodo IceDragon  as I don't trust Comodo.

One thing I don't like is always having to update, browser  and Flash Player versions, I also used to hate having to update Java and directx, but I no longer worry about neither Java nor directx, nowdays Flash Player is the biggest source of problems while browsing the Internet and looking at videos and or trying to like at videos.

While I have no problems looking at videos on YouTube, for some reason I can't look at videos and or at full videos on at Internet T.V. sites, it is upsetting, but I already tried everything that I could think of and I still can't, like if my Web browsers and or operating system are too secure or something, well I least I am O.K. on YouTube and maybe on some other sites were they have videos on their web pages, but not on all sites were they have videos on their Web pages.

Such is life!

I bought one of them new, a very long time ago more than 7 years ago, I think, but I don't remember when, I bought it at Radio Shack.

It is very small and now it is also very old, but it is still just like new, now-days it can be said and maybe even then, that it was and is a small low-end digital camera, I have not used it for very many years 'till now.

I need to get a new tripod as I gave mine away some time ago, yesterday I took these pictures, it was hard, because my sight is not as good as it used to be and because I still don't remember how to use the camera just right, I need to read the manual just as I did years ago.

They are TIF image files, so I am not sure if you all can see them or not, I myself can with Firefox.

I took all of them without a tripod so they might not be as good as they should otherwise be.

Using a tripod would have made taking the pictures easier and better, I need to buy a tripod soon maybe today or tomorrow, or later if I order one online.

The picture images come from the camera as JPEG, but I converted them to TIF image files.

As I have not taken photos for so very many years I have forgotten how to take them, so here we are going to re-learn:

The aperture controls the depth-of-field.
 
Depth-of-field is how much of the picture is sharp, and how much is blurry.

What you will see is at F/1.4 the background is totally blown out and your focus is very narrow or shallow. As I change the F Stops and go up in numbers you

will see how the background starts to come out and become more clear.

If you want to take a picture of a sweeping mountain vista, you’d want to use a small aperture size (high f-stop number) so that the entire scene is in sharp

focus.

SHORT Depth of Field refers to a narrow field of view that is in focus. When objects in the foreground, mid-ground OR background are exclusively in focus,

this is referred to as short depth of field. This is most often used in portraiture, in which the photographer wishes to focus attention on the portait

subject by showing landscapes, buildings and/or other objects in the background as a blur.


LONG Depth of Field, by contrast, refers to a wide field of view that is in focus. With long depth of field, objects are in focus both the foreground and

mid-ground, or in the mid-ground as well as background, or even from the foreground all the way through to the background...all are in focus!

HOW TO GET SHORT DEPTH OF FIELD:

1.  Position your subject away from any background walls; You must show depth in the background to see any
     depth of field effect.

2.  Aperture Priority - Choose the lowest f-stop available on your lens.  You want to shoot with a wide aperture.

3.  Get close to your subject.  The closer you are to your subject, the shorter the depth of field.  (ie. macro
     shots almost always have extremely short depth of field)

4.  Use a little zoom.  Zooming to about 80-130mm on a DSLR camera will provide an increased short DoF
     effect.

5.  Focus on your subject and snap the shutter!


HOW TO GET LONG DEPTH OF FIELD:

1.  Just as with short DoF, position your subject away from any background walls; You must show depth in the
     background to see any depth of field effect.

2.  Aperture Priority - Choose the highest f-stop that your lighting will allow.  F-stops at 16 and 22 will give you
     the best results.  Remember, narrow apertures result in longer-distance focus.

3.  The farther your subject is from the lens, the longer the depth of field will be.  If you must get a close-up,
     move your subject to a point at least 1 yard (1 meter) from the lens.

4.  Do NOT use ZOOM or a telephoto lens!  Widen your zoom as far as it will go.  If you have a non-zoom wide
     angle lens, this will deepen the long DoF.

5.  Focus on your subject and press the shutter!

So suppose you take a picture that is too bright.  How do you fix it?  Simply choose a smaller aperture.  Simple! Aperture sizes are measured by f-stops.  A

high f-stop like f-22 means that the aperture hole is quite small, and a low f-stop like f/3.5 means that the aperture is wide open.

Factors That Influence Exposure

The shutter is a small “curtain” in the camera that quickly rolls over the image sensor (the digital version of film) and allows light to shine onto the

imaging sensor for a fraction of a second.

The longer the shutter allows light to shine onto the image sensor, the brighter the picture since more light is gathered. 

A darker picture is produced when the shutter moves very quickly and only allows light to touch the imaging sensor for a tiny fraction of a second.

The duration that the shutter allows light onto the image sensor is called the shutter speed, and is measured in fractions of a second. 

So a shuttedr speed of 1/2 of a second will allow more light to touch the image sensor and will produce a brighter picture than a shutter speed of 1/200 of a

second.

So if you’re taking a picture an it is too dark, you could use a slower shutter speed to allow the camera to gather more light.

A high ISO such as ISO 1,600 will produce a brighter picture than a lower ISO such as ISO 100. The drawback to increasing the ISO is that it makes the

picture noisier.  Digital noise is apparent when a photo looks grainy.

When you shoot aperture priority mode, you set the aperture (the f-stop) and also the ISO. 

The camera will then set a shutter speed for you so that the picture is properly exposed.

If you’re usually shooting your portraits at f/2.8 or a similar low aperture.  Suppose, also, that you’re using a 100mm lens and standing 7 feet (2.1 meters)

from the subject.  Did you know that, with these settings, that only 1.4 inches (3.5 centimeters) of the photo is sharp?  That means that, if you focus on

the person’s cheek, their eyes and nose will be partially blurry.

So if you want your photos to come out crystal clear and sharp, you need to focus PRECISELY, and make sure you have enough depth-of-field to make the subject come out sharp. 

When shooting portraits, you will almost always focus on the person’s eye.

New is good enough, but they now sell a few used ones, if they are not damaged then they should still be good.

It is of course no-state-of-the-art camera, but should be more than good enough, it does have 2 things that might not be so great:

1st: It eats batteries up big time, so you might need either high capacity batteries and or rechargeable batteries.

2nd: Same as most small digital cameras it can't be connected to an external flash, so most of these cameras need good enough light if you want to shoot things that are far away.

Also, it comes with some zoom, both optical (3X) and digital (5X) = 15 total zoom, so it doesn't have a super zoom, optical zoom is always the best zoom to use and not so much digital for better quality pictures.

What I don't like about the Canon PowerShot SX530 is:

JPEG Compression Mode
Still Image: Exif. 2.3 (JPEG)
Video: MP4 (Image: MPEG-4 AVC/H.264; Audio: MPEG-4 AAC-LC (Stereo))

That is it produces a JPEG picture type when RAW, PNG-24 and TIFF are superior, JPEG produces much lower quality images.

At least the Canon PowerShot SX60 does produce both RAW and JPEG, but it is like $429 versus $249 that is $200 more expensive, too bad, I guess that JPEG or not the Canon PowerShot SX530 HS would be the better buy or even the Canon PowerShot ELPH 350 HS at $159 and:

= 12X4= 48 Total Zoom. Not too bad!

And a lot cheaper, but no burst mode, too bad.
