Melania Trump’s ‘revenge’ on designers who won’t dress her

Defending the former model against critics who harped on the garment’s $51,500 cost, the Washington Post’s Robin Givhan opined, “Frankly, the floral coat is beautiful.”

“There is a softening, a melting,” stylist Phillip Bloch told me. “Fashion people are fickle and fake. They are starting to see she is a beautiful woman who is married to the president, and it is an honor to dress her.”

Deliveries to Trump Tower have picked up. “Most days, the lobby is brimming with wardrobe boxes delivered for Melania,” a source told me. “Once she tries on the outfits and decides what she will keep, the boxes come back downstairs.”

Not since Jacqueline Kennedy has there been a first lady who needs less help.

“She doesn’t need couture. She can buy off the rack, and it looks beautiful,” Bloch said. “She knows her size, and she knows what works on her. She luxuriates in minimal.”

My take from this is to research candidates prior stances on issues, not glitzy ads or how slick their presentation is, and vote accordingly. Don't wait for someone to do something about issues. Vote to elect officials who will give more than platitudes to a situation which enforce a double standard of two sets of rules.

It gave us Ferguson, Middlebury College, Berkeley, and “Punch a Nazi” – which, conveniently for the left, translates as “punch normals.” And many of us have had personal experiences with this New Hate – jobs lost, hassles, and worse. Some <snip>s at an anti-Trump rally attacked my friend and horribly injured his dog. His freaking dog. ...."

Trump Budget: Child Care, Earned Income Tax Credits Would Require Social Security Number

"We'll start at the beginning. Yes, apparently receiving tax breaks from the U.S. government for child care or low wages doesn't currently require that you have a Social Security number.

At least according to CNS News, which reported this week on the new requirement in President Trump's budget. Under the new rule, "those receiving the child care tax credit and the earned income tax credit now must have a Social Security number to claim those tax credits," the news agency reported. ..."

Plant trees. Bare root (not growing in a pot) seedlings are very inexpensive and in many instances acclimate easier than larger more expensive trees. In warmer areas use water gel when planting to hold water so roots can absorb as needed. Decreases need for watering, fosters growth.

Academics: Global Warming Created So Many New Plants They Made Earth Colder

"Global warming is spurring so much plant growth that some parts of Earth are starting to cool, according to study released Thursday by Ghent University.

The study concluded that rising carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions are causing an increase in plant life, which generally has a moderate cooling impact on the local climate.

In warm areas, CO2 emissions increase the amount of leaf cover, leading to localized cooling. Cooler places see the opposite, with temperatures rising slightly since less sunlight is being reflected back from the surface from increased leaf coverage.

In total, researchers say that these effects have mitigated global warming by roughly 14 percent. ...."
