National Brown-Out Night?

I'm posting this here to ask if last night 7-30-07, Monday night, anyone else experienced the loss of electricity in their town.

Yesterday I was shopping in a store when the power went out. Later on the 4 o'clock news they gave the area, about 3 square m iles and said it was out 3 hours due to a "birds nest".

At 7pm, I was anxiously waiting to write down the numbers off T.V. when my pow er went out.  It stayed off till 12:30 AM last night. It was awfully hot with no air conditioning.  A nieghbor came home from work in a nearby town and said a sign in Starbucks annouced they were closed for "National Brown-Out Night".

Today I used a couple search engines but found nothing for that term. Hummmm. They want to build a nuclear power plant here. . .could this be to rally us around the idea, I'm thinking.. .

Did anyone else have power outage last night??????? What town???

Top Google Video REMOVED

The top #1 video watched "MARTIAL LAW" on Google with over 500,000 veiws recently was removed by Google.

Something is in the air, that's why so many people went to see that movie.

Can still see it at the source,  www.infowars.com

and it's twin site,  www.prisonplanet.tv

What would happen under martial law anyway?  The feds have been issuing hints of another 9/11 worse incident iminent.  The prez has been writing Executive Orders lately "in case of emergency" he's the dictator! AND, July 17th Exec Order criminalizes war protesters. Sheesh, the dollar is plunging and stocks. It's enough to make me take inventory of my supplies, etc. WEll, that's one thing I can do and I will today.

Now I really want to see that video!

Heal the World on July 17th!!!!!

Last night o n Coast to Coast I heard this woman's miraculous story of how she and her young son went off the road and into water and both died.

While she was struggling to get out of the car and save her 4 yr. old son a "being of light" started giving her calming instructions of what to do, and that they would both be fine. Well, it took 15 minutes for the rescuers to arrive, etc etc. They both had died but came back. Oh you gotta read her story.

Now the Light Beings have instructed her to do the same for this dying planet!

On July 17th, get on board, read all about it at: www.firethegrid.com

Get your instructions now for July 17th. It will only require 1 hour of time on July 17th, pray, meditate, etc. at 11:11 Greenich time, her website tells you what time in your area. Also, hear a sample of the healing music on the home page. E N J O Y  . . . ..

ps. this weekend is free streamlink on www.coasttocoast.com radio where you can replay the show I heard last night (7/8th) and hear Shelly tell her story. BLESSINGS . .

Cherokee wisdom

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, My son, the battle is between two "wolves" inside us all. One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, Which wolf wins?"
The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

Art Bell's wife died

Romona Bell, beloved wife of Art Bell of Coast to Coast over night radio fame, died Wednesday night apparently from an asma attack in her sleep.  The couple had not spent one day apart in their fifteen year marriage. They were visiting Laughlin, Nevada on a short vacation.  This was announced last night by George Nory at the beginning of Coast to Coast.  He said Art was in deep seclusion. You can read more about it on the home page.www.coasttocoastam.com  Romona was 47 years old.

This news made me very sad for Art.  I hope in the future he will find another companion to share his life with.

Poetry Night

It's Tuesday night and open mike night just 2 blocks away at Club Fred.  The Freds are Fred Flintstone, Fred Astaire, Fred Mertz, etc, all in the mural.  It's only $2 cover and $2 drinks and if you can hang 'til about 10:30 free pizza arrives from Pacifica Pizza, the best around.  It's been months and months since I went over there.  The gal in charge wanted to run some kind of far out beat-nic music behind my poems and just never connected to that.  I thought I'd get in the groove by posting a poem here first.  This one about money seems appropriate for LP.    (wish me luck)

IF YOU'E GOT MONEY

If you've got money

and you're cold

you can start the fire,

you don't save newspaper

for lining your attire.

If you've got money

and you're tan,

it came when you were pool-side,

not waiting for a van,

not from picking peas

or hussling on your knees.

If you're monied

and your ribs show, you're glad,

you spent  a lot on that diet fad.

It's not from fainting hunger

drove you mad.

If you've got money

you've got friends

not because they like you

it's because you're twins.

If you've got money

but should lose it

thus and so--

visit the poor.

They will take you in--

because

they know.                                              (aka TA)

Star Scrolls

I had to go out in the weather on a bus odyssey to get my Star Scrolls for the month.  I can't gamble without them. Started in July 1995. I saw they told me my lucky days so vowed to only gamble then.  The first week I won over 3k on 3 royal flushes and was so pleased that I phoned the company in Los Angeles.  I told the secretary and she was thrilled and wanted me to tell the president.  Anyway, you might have seen them sometime in the checkout line of a grocery store or drug store.  In a little box among the candy and magazines,  find your sign in a little scroll inside a little tube. Tah Dah!  Each day has pic 3 numbers as well as a pic six number along with daily horoscope and other info. I've been tracking mine  lately for pic 3 and it usually has 1 or 2 numbers right or all 3 or even an occasional straight! If you can find 'em they are a jewel.  I should prolly get them mailed to me so I don't have to keep tracking them down.

I buy 2 because I'm on a cusp.  Use to buy my rising sign as well.

Good luck and happy double ought six.  TA

OMG, ambulance, cat, firetruck

An ambulance pulled up out front and they went in with a gernie across the street at the lesbian's house.  Her elderly mother moved in with her a year or so ago. I was hanging myself out the side window to watch when I noticed this  big fluffy gray cat outside my window i never saw before.  I was talking to this cat, did he want to come inside and eat, etc. while watching the paramedics go inside across the street.  Then a firetruck came, 3 ppl went inside with anoher stretcher. Between watching and talking to the cat I decided I should go over there and offer my assistance in any way I could.  They wheeled the mother out on the gurnie and it looked like her face was covered over with the blue blanket.  I asked a paramedic if she was going to the hospital or was she deceased.  She said she was going to the hospital.  Then Diane came out and I said I'm here to assist you any way I can.  She said thanx but she's going to the hospital in the ambulance. The cat had disappeared.

Sheesh, I might die tonight like the song says by Three Dog Night.  I want to have some fun, I want to liiiiivvvveee---I'm alive and why am I living like a dead person all alone unto myself.  I think I will don my pretty clothes and walk over to the club and see what's shakin'!!!!!!!!!!! It's only 9:30 and what the hell. . . . nobody's showed up here anyway. . . .

New Year's Eve Musings

I suppose I'm glad this year is over 'cause it's been hairy to say the least.  I understand from Glynnis McCants it had something to do with my numbers and 2005 and I should have had popcorn and just watched it all like a movie and not tried to control anything at all.  Same numbers turns out as 1969 which was another totally huge fiasco.  So, I know I should be grateful etc.

A part of me wants to dress up tonight in this coat from the 30's. It was my Mom's and I only wore it once so far.  It is the thickest, most plush black velvet I ever saw and it's full length.  Plus, I want to wear all the guady huge fake diamonds and make-up and just get out their and tear up the town tonight. . . well, my neighborhood anyway. But, I'm planning to make this traditional southern dish, Hoppin' John with rice, bacon, onions and black eyed peas  plus,  some salmon tacos. Then if anyone shows up great.  If not, then fine.  I'll work on my mission statement for 006.

I wish a man would show up 'cause I need a few things done around here. Like stand on the step stool and change a light bulb. And like, change the battery in my smoke alarm, 'cause I can't get it apart. And then stay and eat and tell me how delishous it all is, lol.  And stay and tell me how beautiful I look, and stay and help me ring in the new year with a bang! LOL.  But the few I picture are scattered all over the country: New Mexico, Montana, and Texas.

I see they are playing The God Father tonight on TBS. I've heard it said a man can learn everything he needs to know from that movie. Well,  I feel the same way about Sex in the City.  I never thought I would want to look at anything with a title like that. Then I saw it once and I was hooked.  It's really really hard however to get a guy to watch it, LOL.

The other day a young man about 25 was reading a book at the bus stop.  I asked what it was.  We started talking books and he said he wouldn't mind seeing my shelves! A couple of old fat bald guys recently contacted me via my personal ad.  What is this, more jokes from the universe?  The ones  hitting on me are always too young or too old!!!

The other day I was at the Stop 'n Rob and I said to the clerk (19 from Pakistan?) "it's cold outside".  He says to me, "are you busy?" What the hell did that mean? Was he saying I was a hooker? (I wish) LOL. Sheesh, I don't get no respect. . . it ain't easy bein' me!!!!

I just hope I'm learning some lessons here on this planet this time.  I'm afraid of not getting it and having to repeat the same senarios in the next life!! Prolly tonight I will stay home and stay outa trouble. . .

Ciao and blessings & happy new year to all out there in cyber space!  TA

Kindred Penguin

Some of us must go

our own way.

We are not satisfied

by houses, cars, new

appliances, fad or

fashion.  Like a Ken

might be or a Gwen

might be.

Like a lone penguin

cuts himself

from the herd to find

a new warmer land.

We search interior

for the hidden gem

we study the cosmic

crack of spirit

to give birth

to some kind of art.

We do it all alone.

Only sometimes

we meet another

a kindred penguin

then, we have company.                                  (aka TA)

Don't Try This At Home

Hello dair,

Christmas eve I ate some beef strogenoff. Usually I avoid dead cow but this dish I hadn't had for maybe 20 years so I indulged. Then I didn't feel so good the next day. So that night I thought it would be "healthy" to sleep with the window open for fresh air. In the middle of the night there was a thunderstorm with a heavy downpour. The rain blew sideways into the window screen and got reduced to a fine mist. The cold mist sprayed on my smiling face as I rode through a foggy enchanted forest on a motorcycle, or so I dreamed.

Anyway, just getting over bronchitis, lol, and starting to feel better.  That's what I've been doing.  I feel a poem coming on.  May post here.

BTW, don't try that at home.  A fresh air window may be good but not right in front of your dreaming face.

Jazzy George Bar

Hi and cheers,

I was missing my friend George today who died this year.  He was 67 or 68, had a lot of health problems. We were good friends for 30 years. He was a great local jazz musician, astrologer, book and people lover.  He was always up for going to lunch, movies or musical gigs. He would send me the funniest cards, letters and emails I ever got.  He put me on one of his live albums just because the mike picked up my voice between tunes.  He was always encouraging me to get out there and self market my talents, like publishing or singing old songs in a nightclub routine like a sortof "Marlena Deitrick" thing. We were there for eachother when our mothers passed, and all kinds of other fiascos as well. George was really good at being in the here and now and doing his own thing.  Right up to his last day he was writing his music in his studio.  If I could call him right now he'd prolly say why don't I go over to the club and see old friends?

It really pi**es me off to lose him.  I wrote this poem about him in Nov. 2003.

JAZZY GEORGE BAR

George is a jazzy guy

who sometimes flies off

as if his thoughts can't help

but go on a riff

of improvisational notes.

This makes for great music

and interesting lunch conversation--

though lunch is sometimes hard

to follow.

And if the tune

is mad or sad

or paranoid--

well, that makes for noteworthy

music too--

and strange and mysterious lyrics.

Don't let any of this fool you.

Beneath the crusty layer

of worldly wounds

there's a golden nugget center--

for which a candy bar

should be named--

a "Jazzy George Bar"

my old friend.                                              (aka TA)

Chistmas Eve Eve Eve

I am so glad I'm almost done with putting out fires, dealing with bueracracies, paper trails and year end loose ends. I'm starting to think about Christmas. Since I don't seem to have any invitations so far, I got an idea today of something to do.  I could dress up tomarrow and take cards and candy canes over to the VA hospital and visit and pass them out!  Years ago, well high school actually, I signed up to be a CandyStriper at a senior 's hospital.  I took the classes and bought the uniform etc. I still have my Red Cross badge, lol. Well, I didn't last too long on that job. The first week a crazy old man in a wheelchair grabbed ahold of me and wouldn't let go.  After that I didn't return. Funny, I think if anything like that happens at the VA I'll just say "at ease soldier" or " oh are we dancing?"  So, wish me luck and I'll let ya know how it goes.

There's a neat Christmas story that I just love. In fact I've thought about writing the screenplay for it. It would be so cool on the big screen and why wouldn't Spielburg wanna make this movie? It's called THE TABLECLOTH and I was gona type it here but it's too much. You can read 2 versions of it at www. truthorfiction.com. I don't care if it's true or not, it's a really great story. For the script I picture Armin Mueller-Stahl (papa in MUSIC BOX) and Olympia Dukakis (mom in MOONSTRUCK) for the main characters. If you're anything like me you might want a box of tissue to read with.

Speaking of true or not, caught the film FAIRY TALE : A True Story, again the other night. This man use to live in Fresno and it took him 20 years to get this movie made.  Sir Arthur Conan Doyle ( played by Peter O'Toole) and Houdini ( played by Harvey Kytell) are some of the characters that get involved in the media blitz over 2 young girls in England that photograph fairies!! Oh, it's a terrific film!! I've got one of the photos on my puter but don't know how to post it here. Try and see the fim if you can.

If you get  cable channel TBS, Atlanta,  they are going to show A CHRISTMAS STORY for 24 hours straight starting Dec. 24 I think.  That's the film about the boy that only wants a BB gun for Christmas. Oh it's great.

Yesterday is only a memory, tomorrow my not come, we only have today, that's why they call it THE PRESENT!

Merry Christmas,

TA
