Teenage boy later escaped and returned to parents

The teenage son of a couple from Loutsa, east of Athens, Greece, who had won 280,000 euros in the Joker lottery escaped from his kidnappers yesterday hours after the two men abducted him and demanded the winnings from his parents.

Police found the 15-year-old wandering close to Athens International Airport yesterday afternoon. He told officers that he had been tied and blindfolded and left in a shack that he believes was located somewhere in Markopoulo, east of Athens.

The teenager was abducted shortly before 6 a.m. when two armed men wearing hoods burst into his house after his father had left for work. They demanded 200,000 euros from his mother. The suspects mentioned the lottery win, immediately arousing the woman's suspicions. She tried to pull back the hood of one of the men to see if he was someone she knew but failed, police said.

The two men took the teenager hostage, telling his mother to gather the cash to ensure his return.

Pretty sloppy plot for it to be professionals,  my guess is that a close fried or distant family member is behind this.

Sounds that way. Sad.

I'm glad he escaped. It does look like it may have been someone who knew the family.

That is just horrible.... see that is why I always say that when I win I love that Ohio allows us to remain nameless and I WONT tell NO ONE  about it just drop off the face of the earth. Hell these days ya would have to blind fold people to bring them over to visit so they dont know where you live damn!!  Welll I am glad he is ok.

I agree with you Sassy.  I once had to ask for a restraining order because a man I dated wouldn't leave me alone. it didn't work -  he broke into my home. This might sound like something entirely different, but it really isn't. Some people are crazy and greed only makes them crazier.

Sad story, but at least it had a happy outcome- the boy is safe.  Lets hope they catch the people.
