Most states these days have both Powerball and MegaMillions, so I wonder if people in those states will just buy MegaMillions and not Powerball.  My state only has Powerball and no intentions to add MegaMillions, so I guess I'm stuck.

PrisonerSix, at least you have 2 State Lotto games you can play where Oklahoma has 0 NONE!!!!!

So what am I missing here 32.5288 * 2 = 65.0576 and the new game is giving 63.9512, seems like your paying out less on the dollar.  Oh I forgot (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) there will be more second prize million dollar winners.  Good one.

    Jimmy

You are missing the total payout of all prize levels.  The total payout for all prizes stays the same; just a little moving around among the prize levels.

As it turns out, this transition is easiest for people like me who played Powerplay already.

I can understand the complaints of those who didn't play Powerplay because when all is said and done, what this looks like is everybody being forced to purchase Powerplay for the one million dollar 5+0 prize by including it in the price of the ticket.

gonna wait to see how it shakes out, played mm instead cause odds were slightly better.

I could be wrong but when they changed it awhile back and added more numbers to either the white balls or red balls, they claimed higher or even record setting jackpots were going to take place. I didn't really see any of those so to plug the stats and say the average jackpot won is going to be a certain amount(powerball website says $255 million) is silly. I usually play 5 picks on each draw which costs me $10 a week, but thats gonna now cost $20 a week? I think I'll put my $5 from pball to the $5 I play on mega and increase myodds a little with mega.

Bang Head    POWER BALL LOTTERY EXECUTIVES TAKE NOTICE :

In these difficult times and the people that usually play power ball are                                                                                  usually those that have barely 2 pennies to rub together...

They think "sucking" more money out of each player will get more people to play ??                                                   ***Making it "Easy" (like when power ball first started) will get more people to play!***

I think Power Ball will suffer.  They think this lottery is suffering, wait til the changes come in Jan.                                          * Also it's not "just" the  power ball lottery. They think they are the only lottery "suffering" ??                                                They better "Hope" that the economy Improves. That's the only way more people are going to                                            play more. If people have a full time, "secure" job and have all their bills paid and a roof over their heads...                        then they will play.

I think Power Ball should think of lowering the pick five numbers as well. What about making them

from 1 to 42 ... that was the highest they went to when they first started... right? and keeping it at

1$ not 2$...  with their power play option ( that's the power ball executives preverbal  "Icing on the cake")                                                                                                                                                                                                                       There are also very good options  for change that other power ball players have posted here.                                              I think Power Ball executives should consider them "All" before undertaking "Their" changes in Jan.

It seems as if power ball executives have gotten greedy.                                                                                                         What,  power play isn't the cream on their coffee anymore?

The gambling public isn't "Stupid" like they think. The "Little" "Piddling" changes won't have                                             people winning more often. That is what Power Ball said when they increased the pick 5 and                                               the power ball numbers.  OOOOooooo, another 2% easier to win.... OOooo I'm just shaking with                                       anticipation to want to buy a ticket to win ! (not ) Thumbs Down

Power Ball players are the gambling and  the poor public.

They are "Dreamers" hoping to win the jackpot.

They have stars in their eyes when they pay for their Power Ball tickets. Hoping to "Win" the Big one !                       Hoping that "When" they hit it, they can "dig them selves out of the

Financial hole they are in".  Hope that their lives will be a little better for a little while.

"Hope" is the one thing the Power Ball lottery has that is keeping them going.

            Keeping all the lotteries going.

If the Lottery jacks up the price of "Hope"...     "Hope" is going  to go into the gutter.

and that's where the power ball lottery will be.

Me.. I "Hope" once in a while. I don't play all the time, every drawing.                                                                                   There probably are people that do. I think those  people are the gamblers                                                                           that "Can't" stop. Those are the people that loose their jobs, their families                                                                           and their homes because they  can't stop. they have a problem.

Because of the economy and the fact that I now have a part time job                                                                                    (which is better than nothing) I wait til the kitty is large and only play 5 or 10 bucks,                                                             no power play. if the cost of playing were to go to 10 or 20 bucks....                                                                                       I wont be playing that often if at all.

If Power Ball does go thru with it and goes to 2$ per play...

I'll be "Hoping" that mega millions or megga bucks come to LA !

Hurray! HEAR THAT MEGGA BUCKS ?? MEGA MILLIONS??? ....  COME ON DOWN !Hurray!     Party

Not at all happy about these changes!!!  Cussing Face!!!!   This is nothing more than a way for all the lotteries to earn more money by making us spend $2 instead of $1.  And the odds changing from 1 in 35 to 1 in 31.8.....HA!  What a freakin' joke!!!!  Glad I live near the Georgia border where I can, and will, continue to play MegaMillions for just $1.

            I Agree!

A mind once stretched by a new idea never returns to its original dimensions!
