I have a feeling that she has been spending a lot of money on the lottery. As others have said, there are a lot of great charities that she can give that money or set up a charitable foundation.

on a side note, I know a lot of you take offense to a pastor admonishing his/her congregants against gambling, and years ago I questioned a pastor I knew as to why, when it wasn't biblically based. I've always respected his response. He said he makes a blanket statement against gambling because he has an issue with a father behind on child support spending money gambling, or a mother who can't make ends meet without outside assistance throwing what little money she has on a scratch off. If a person can afford to play, then no problem, but people in financial difficulties with children need to put gambling aside and focus on taking care of their kids.

In his church this was a problem.

I'm okay with that explanation. It would make sense he would steer them away from gambling. Don't know about other ministers, but that was his take.

If you don't gamble then you never should have played. Your winnings could be a curse.

The thing that bugs me is that it's not "anti-Christianity" to gamble.  This lady is all distraught over nothing.

If a pastor wants to rail against gambling in his sermon, then that's the pastor's opinion, not the Word of God.  Nowhere in the Bible does it say anything about gambling being morally wrong.  In fact, quite the opposite: the Bible makes mention of lotteries, as a simple statement of fact.

Preachers, especially non biblical money tithes teaching preachers, speak against gambling because they are the ones who want more of your money.

It is a fact that nowhere in the Holy Bible does scripture describe tithes as money. It is only agricultural products. The one time the Bible advises a believer who has to travel too far of a distance to be able to physically carry his agricultural tithe to place of worship, it instructs him to exchange it for money and then to use that money to buy whatever his heart desires at place of worship, be it good meat, bread, oil, and fermented beverages.

it is a shame how pastards guilt trip people over money.

Get MONEY!!! Winning a JACKPOT lottery is all the HOPE and CHANGE I desire!!!  NOW give me MONEY!US Flag

The guy who won the presidency in 2008 really won the lottery...he is now millions richer, travels in first class style, and even has a staff that would be the envy of the richest Powerball winner (she has a staff of 2). Every night he goes to sleep, he probably plays the close of Dave Chappelle's Show: I'm rich beyatch!

This woman need to do one of two things:

                a) Get a clue.

                b) Stop thinking we're fools.

"It's good to have money and the things that money can buy, but it's good, too, to check up once in a while and make sure that you haven't lost the things that money can't buy." - George Lorimer

just throw the winning ticket in the collection basket ,and God will decide its fate. And say three Hail Mary's ,and two Our Fathers ,.................oh and light a candle for the homeless.

LOL!  I was thinking the same thing.  Who do they think fills those baskets with BIG cash??  GAMBLERS, woo hoo!!  Priests, Preachers and Pastors LOVE Gamblers.

I picture them after mass counting the money in the collection baskets....

"Gee George, by the looks of things it does not appear we had any big lottery winners attend mass today."

There is an obvious solution to this woman's problem. If she hates that she won so bad she can give all her money away. Problem solved. Roll Eyes

I Agree!  I'll be happy to take her money! Wouldn't want the little dear to suffer from guilt anxiety! Big Grin
