GG It would be CHOMPING! Not Champing, sorry just so you know and obviously you did not read the whole story correctly!

Nope. The word "champ" ("to bite or chew impatiently") is correct in the phrase "champing at the bit".

"Lots of jealousy" BUNK. These people don't have a clue about what they have done.  Another episode of

how the lottery ruined my life.  It won't be the lottery, it was the divorce lawyer they took to advise them.

They even carried the ticket around, even to New York before they made an official claim.  What if they had

ran it through the laundry by mistake.  A lottery ticket will dissolve in water and without the ticket there is

no way to collect.  The guy even carried it around in his shirt pocket.  I don't see lots of jealousy here I see

people stating facts.  Most Lotteries post information on there websites, what to do when you win.  God

help them and I hope they get some good advise and follow it.

When I was younger I always had a horse and I used the word "chomp."  If someone would have told me back

then the proper word was champ, I would have thought they were nuts or from NY.  Thanks for the update.

I think that some people have an idea of what they would do if they won and then they project that on other people who either win or their friends, family or even strangers who discuss and state what they would do and like everything in life most of us have our own individual opinions some of which seem absolutely absurd to others.

That is the beauty of living in our great country, we have options, we have choices and freedoms and of course the best thing is we have the lottery, right?

I don't agree that it's a good idea for them to go back to work but what will be, will be.  If they go back to work and they are still enjoying their jobs and the people working there are treating them the same or well then good for them since those were their wishes.  Yeah I find it hard to believe that will happen but who knows and does it ultimately effect YOUR life?  If not then who really cares as it's their lives to live the way that they choose to however seemingly right, correct, just, stupid, insane, fantastic, perfect, unbelievable and the list of what could and could not happen goes on and on but ultimately it doesn't effect your life so best to just move on and hope you win then you can do EXACTLY what YOU feel is the "right way" or the "best way".

In the realm of being positive, let's hope that they find their way to a positive outcome and they don't do a David Edwards or a Marie Holmes who recently made the news once again !  Wishing them all the best!

Again, those are minorities. This family doe snot appear to be drug dealers and convicts. John and Marie had those issues before winning. What about the West family who won $340 million back in 2007? Everyone said the same things yet I have not seen story about them having any issues. So yeah it is just envy from those who lost. They want to see you their downfall because they did not win. They could care less as they never even seen them before.

i'm sure they will have no choice but to move. not so sure rich and or professional people in a gated community will warm up and accept them. certainly won't socialize with them. their only option would be start their own smaller gated community in a cul-de-sac and fill it with their relatives. sort of a world among themselves. they'd have to spend a fortune (not an issue) and put a high fence around it with a security shack and gate manned 24 hours a day. that might work.

No one in the gated community would accept them? Where did you come up with those theories? No one in a gated community is going to give a crap how much money you have or how you got it. It is none of their business. You think they are all going to run up to you and start asking how much money you got and how you got it? Um I don't think so. If they did I would be telling them to get the F off my property before I knock them off.  I know people who live in a gated community and they keep to themselves they do not socialize with neighbors and that is how they like it. They stay in their houses and mind their own business.  And if they didn't like them who gives a crap? If they discriminated against them just because they won the lottery they are trash anyway. No one is going to know anything about you anyway. Most have their own lives they are living.

Also these people won't be moving at their age and they are not letting anyone scare them away nor should they. They will not be doing even one of those things that you suggested because it would make them insane idiots who were self-centered and overly paranoid. You may as well not even play the lottery if you are that worried because you will only become a prisoner of your own self-centered paranoia. The reality however is that the world is not going to stop and revolve around you just because you won the lottery. Those who have issues are in the minority and usually had issues long before winning and were shady to begin with. Self-destructive thinking like that would do far more damage than any "imagined" criminals would.

CNN had another lawyer come on for a 2nd opinion and he just said what I was already thinking. I'm not over reacting here folks. This lawyer a  Half-wit

                    ignoramus.

(Note CNN  news reporter is wrong about the state law of TN. Reporters repeating the same BS over and over without checking the facts. )

Also, see if you can notice something odd about who is in photo:

"All smiles: The Robinson, right and center, appeared on the Today show along with their daughter Tiffany, left, their lawyer Joe Townsend, second right, and Mr. Townsend's daughter Eileen, second left "

                    Noticed it yet?

Why in the hell is the Lawyer's freaking daughter Eileen with them during their trip to New York city to go on the news?

She was also at their state lottery press conference.

Yeah, that lawyer looks REAL trustworthy. LOL Looks to me like an angry jealous lawyer who was made that he didn't get the call and a piece of the big pie and exposure. When do you see any lawyer competing for clients another lawyer? You don't, they are competing. When you get down to it the lawyer is not  going to make much of a difference in the end anyway. Frankly I don't trust ANY liars...or I mean lawyers. LOL

They really could not have picked a more incompetent attorney. His rationale about "the American public wants to hear from them" is bizarrre. He DOES NOT represent the American public. Of course, he was entitled to bill for all this media and travel time. I would expect a first year law student to have more sense.

Here is what should have been done by the attorney.

                          -validate the ticket first

-if the winners are required to do a press conference, keep it short. Let them tell a funny story about buying the ticket but no job details.

-Have the attorney state and make it clear this will be the one and only press interview and since they are represented by counsel, no one should solicit or contact them....period.
