But some people just like getting up and dressed for work and going to work. Although I would go part time maybe. I like the hustle and bustle. I lIke challenges.. Lol

Artist...Who would hire you on a "maybe" part time basis?  Face it...You'd quit and relax somewhere on a tropical beach like the rest of us.

I am not really a self indulgent person and I worked too hard for my professional degree. Part time can be an option.

Bored not working? Not a chance!  Maybe I am easily amused, but I won't have any trouble filling my days.

For all those that want to quit their job and open their own business remember this...

"By working faithfully 8 hours a day, you may eventually get to be a boss and work 12 hours a day. "

                                                                                                                                     Robert Frost

My winter hobby is making beer, so starting a business and working 12hrs a day would be Heaven if i could do this every day.

I didn't see any ages posted in the story. My thought is younger folks would keep working, older... may already be thinking of retireing. Personally I am 54. I would have two words. See ya!! 1 million in my pocket? I'm gone.

A lot of things would come into play for me to make that decision. How much I won,my age, what are my future plans,I do like my present job, decent pay with benefits. But I will say this if the jackpot is huge u best belive I will be making plans to quit, maybe not right away, don,t want to draw any attention to yourself. But surely I,ll stop working.Next question what will u do when ur not working? Anything I want.

Double nickel baby here, I'd be gone.  That's about $670K in KY.  Already getting an Army pension so why stick around?  They canceled a co-worker to come in @ 11 yesterday and the two of us worked like dogs in a 26 bed PICU, so being treated like that makes up mind once and for all.

Did you ever notice how a lot of people die within one year of "retiring?"

I can't think of any.  I do know of several who died a few years before retirement age.

One of our salespeople passed away last year after a serious illness. Guy was 67, had a bad back and was always in pain and misery. I remember a year or so back before I asked him what the heck was he doing here. Wife had a good job. He hated his job worse than I do, but he felt like he couldn't afford to quit. Well, he retired alright. The hard way.

I do not want to be him.

Why would you give your time to enrich some corporation or some business owner?  I'd rather donate my time to the needy all day at some helpline org or open my own charity and get busy that way.

First thing I'd do after winning the lottery is buy a big RV and travel across the US.
