Days after Lottery Post first reported on six top-prize-winning lottery tickets being sold at the same Massachusetts store, the lottery reported that all six — plus one more that was purchased earlier as a season ticket — have been claimed by one person, who has playing those same numbers for 30 years.
(See Six tickets each win $100,000 Mass Cash prize at the same store on the same day, Lottery Post, Sept. 21, 2022.)
George Morano played the same lottery numbers for the last 30 years and it finally paid off, according to the Massachusetts Lottery.
Morano, a Quincy resident, won $600,000 Monday after playing those same numbers on six "Mass Cash" tickets bought at a Super Petroleum in the city, a spokesperson for the Massachusetts Lottery said. He won an additional $100,000 through the same numbers on his "Mass Cash" season ticket, the lottery added, winning $700,000 overall.
Players sometimes buy several tickets and play the same numbers, the lottery said. That is often the case with "Mass Cash," which offers the best odds of winning $100,000 of any of their games, according to the lottery.
A seventh Mass Cash winning ticket was sold on the same day, at the AM/PM Convenience on Bearses Way in Hyannis.
More than 770 winning lottery tickets worth at least $600 were claimed or sold in the state Monday — 21 in Springfield and 23 in Worcester.
A $1 million "50x The Money" winning ticket was sold at a Fall River Supreme Mart Thursday, according to a list of winning tickets maintained by the lottery. Another $50,000 winning "Power Play Cashword 2021" ticket was sold at a Community Convenience Store in Dorchester.
A $16.5 million "Megabucks Doubler" ticket sold at a Cumberland in Ware is the largest winning so far this year. Two $15 million prizes have also been won in the state this year.
The odds of matching all five numbers in Mass Cash are 1 in 324,632. A full list of odds and corresponding prizes can be viewed on the Prizes and Odds page.
Mass Cash drawings take place every day at 9:00 pm EST, and results are available on the Massachusetts Lottery Results page. Each play costs $1.
I will be the next winner ' because I have been Playing the same numbers for about 25 years.
I will contact Todd from Lottery Post to share my story.
I look forward to publishing your story!
I've done the same for years but haven't had any luck. This is a very common strategy for people in Massachusetts. Mass lottery is the best out of all state lotteries. Highest percentage of pay out and chances. Hopefully my strategy pays off too lol
Good for him.
I have 2 sets of Fantasy 5 numbers and I will start to play them
again today since I have taken his story as a sign to resume my play.
Good Luck to all of you.
You have a valid point there since MA did not convert to RNG.
Grumpy Grouper (me) stopped getting subscriptions a few years ago. For one, the call center is in Georgia for what that is worth. They used to just charge for the UPS delivery which was OK with, then with the new call center it is 2% more probably for the credit card charge. For a few years now you cannot do subscriptions @ retailers anymore. Used to have my Brother but mainly friends get me what I wanted and mail it to me. So to heck with them.
Yes, you can still play Mass Cash and MegaBucks through the phone; however for like two years I think now says a year subscription not available. I've voted with my wallet with them.
Anyway, all is good!
That's pretty much like his retirement bonus. Congrats and enjoy your win.
I wonder how long it would take to drive from Nashville to Massachusetts??
The drive is about 1090 miles and driving should take about 18 hours.
I'm very happy for him and I hope he enjoys his winnings. I've tried playing fixed sets of numbers for a long period of time and it never seemed to work.
In May, I often play the date of my wedding anniversary. One year, it won me $400. I still play it every year, hoping for the best.
Why are people wearing a mask? If he is smart enough, he should invest in some of the money on either stocks or something else.
From Philadelphia take about 6 hours.
Reading more and more stories about players winning after purchasing multiple tickets using the same number combinations. Betting $10 on a pick 3 or pick 4 doesn't change the chance of winning and though much larger odds, it works on fixed payoff games too.
Hats off to George Morano for his patience and perseverance.
Thank you sir.......This is what I love about the LP community.....you ask a question and you always get someone nice enough to provide an answer.
Fantasy5 players in Florida do the same thing and it's pretty commonly done.
Two FF5 jackpot winners sold at the same store in Jupiter on 9/25/2022 and two jackpot winners sold in the same store in Davie on 9/23/2022.
Before that, two winners were sold in the same store in Clewiston on 8/11/2022.
It's happen four times in 2022 according to The Top Prize Winners and Retailers Information report available on The Florida Lottery's Fantasy5 web page.
I used to live in New York and played Take5. (a 5/39 game) I saw it happen up there too. G5
I can think of two reasons he is wearing a mask (big deal!) One, he could be immune issues, i.e. cancer pt, or other issues. Certainly hope not.
Two: Some places still require folks to wear a mask, and being private property that is their right. I'm leaning to MA lotto not up to date on CDC guidelines? Who knows?
This week the local health dept dropped their mask requirements, yet my former employer--healthcare, still requires them despite new rules from CDC today.
The big question I have for him, and congratulations BTW is how much did he spend over 30 years? If the information for that game way back when was readily available it would be a no brainer. Point is perhaps it didn't have as many play dates. Otherwise multiply 365 X 30 with $1 each day.
I can think of a third reason. Maybe he wanted to "disguise" himself.
If it was me, I'd have worn a Coronavirus mask, sunglasses and a baseball hat.
There's no way any state lottery could ask you to remove the mask for the photo. G5
Wow...your idea makes perfect sense...why didn't I think of it.
Two PB drawings ago Indiana won $2 million. The store seemed familiar so looked it up...and of course that is where we play if we cross the river!!
Congrats to George.
He seems like a guy who doesn't like change too much. Those were his numbers and he was gonna stick with them to the end. And luckily it paid off.
He reminds me of a guy I knew who was a lot like that. He did the same things every day, ate the same thing every day and never deviated from his routine. Wouldn't leave the small town he lived in, wouldn't try anything new.
I tried to get him to go for sushi or this or that or the other and he never would. He ate steak and white bread for supper every night, nothing else. And it wasn't a good steak either, it was just your average low quality steak from the local supermarket that he always went to. He fried it in a frying pan and ate that EVERY NIGHT.
I'm not saying George is like that but he could be.
The moral to the story? There ain't none. I'm just ruminatin'.
He died though.
I been playing my same cash#5 numbers for the past 32yrs maybe I will be blessed like you Sir before my 65th bd this October 🙌!
