can't say enough good things about thumb drives!
was working on Pick4 LRS excel file when we had a quick power loss... tried to re-open the file and it was corrupt :-( thumb drive saves the day! only lost about 30 min. of work which was easy to re-do. My files are all massive for LRS/LoopRS, and they don't even put a dent in the storage space. I gave my old one to my kid for school, so I had to use some of that $500 to trat myself to a new one (Sony microvault 4GB) normally $90 but staples had it on sale for $49. ALREADY saved t...

Getting set for a new year
I pretty much dropped off the lotto prediction software game last year when I lost BOTH hard drives in my PC (one was just for backups) to a fried IDE controller card. 2k6 was a miserable year, lottery wise... stuck to playing one ticket with hardly any small hits. I have since rebuilt my PB sheet and plan to go in some new directions. My goal remains a one-line prediction... however the methods are getting way out there. brief rundown of the first one......

Simple Plan: Beat the PA Mid-Day
I feel the need to get back into an Excel-based system for dealing with the PA Mid-Day drawings... I don't play them, and don't plan on it unless backtesting shows success, but I am more interested in seeing if any of my rusty VB skills can be carried over into Excel's built-in VBA (something I can trudge through, but not fluently). Simple Plan Objective... Beat the PA mid-day computerized pick3/pick4, not talking reducing number pools or trapp...

This system just does not work... so what next?
Gave it 150%, learned a great deal about Python along the way, but the wins are just not there. Still my go to for a Power ball ticket until something more functional comes along, but I have tested enough to throw in the towel on this one. I do have a viable framework for future attempts, and I will be doing a deep dive on time series analysis for strings, yes, that means encoding the numbers as letters. In the mean time (deep dives can take months), I am going t...

Heartbreaking When You See What Obama's Common Core Is Doing To Children
Common Core doesn't work. It is proven to dumb-down kids. And that's exactly why the Democrats want it. We shouldn't have kids who excel, they want everybody to be the same. I have grandkids who attend school in a large northern city. They play little league baseball in the summer. They don't keep track of hits or runs scored or the score of the games or have records of wins and losses or team standings. Everybody gets a trophy,...
