What state uses what terminal?
Yes, thanks very much JS9. I really should be tracking this stuff, just like I'm tracking computerized drawings. If you're interested I could create some storage space and a page to keep track of various stuff like lottery ticket machine, vendor, drawing machine brand and model, as well as whatever else makes sense. (I think it makes sense to track everything by game, not just state.) I would rely on your info to fill in the blanks.

just a thought
If you hired 10,000 people and they stood in front of the ticket machine 24 hours a day and fed the tickets thru 1 per second how long would it take. 135,000,000 / 60 = 2,250,000 hours.2,250,000 hours / 24 = 93,750 days10,000 people / 93,750 days = 9.375 days.

Self-Service Terminals
Greetings Joy,I can't see the machines cutting down on retailers profit. Their profit margin is set by the state lottery. In Pennsylvania self-serve scatch ticket machines are all over the place. Store owners love them.I agree with you Joy about the supermarket cashiers. I never use self checkout lanes, but the convenience store employee thats another matter. The only time you see a employee manning a lottery machine 100% of the time is when the Powerball game gets into the millions.Have you ev

Missouri Goes To Computer Generated Draws
Here is the reply I received from the Missouri lottery, they pretty much repeat the press release to justify their actions as if I hadn't read it. Please take a minute to visit http://www.molottery.state.mo.us/ and use the contact form to let them know these fake drawings are not wanted by real lottery players. BobPDear Randy: (Yup, even got my name wrong.)Thank you for your concerns and comments, I am sorry you feel sostrongly about the computerized drawings. I would like to take thisopportu

Man vs Machine, which do you prefer?
You got it right there! Why do they have to use these manipulative heavy handed sales tactics of forcing you to buy something and not giving change? It just pisses me off. I've had a lotto kiosk machine keep rejecting a valid playslip for a game I wanted to play.(I know because I later used it successfully somewhere else) But I had to choose another game because the thing don't give change! And many times with a scratch machine, didn't see the game I wanted to play was out, or later fo

Michigan 3 & 4 digit dailys ARE manipulated...Is your state cheating
I often wondered about how business is conducted over there in Lansing, MI where the headquarters of the Michigan Lottery is located. I've had talks with other players regarding the same topic. Unless your in that circle of news on a need to know basis, good luck trying to find out. My feelings are, just as your close to the answer, they place another bird dog on to throw you off the trail. I understand years in the past an accounting firm did judge oversite in the drawings; when pick-5, and

1212 Combination
maybe some Rush fans might play 2112 but there are other combinations that get played and had big total payouts.. 911 is commonly played, 123, 666, 711, today's date, years, etc. In nj it's pari-mutuel so if my prg. says a year is coming out I either don't play it or I put $1 expecting a reduced payout. Numbers that have been coming out frequently also would have bigger total payouts and number sets that repeat entirely on jackpot games. I don't see any evidence so far withholding any numbers.

Getting new balls
Powerball has not changed the Red Ballset since March 2006, or the White Ballset since August 2005, and as random as the numbers have been for the last six months, they don't need to. FYI they have four different ballsets of each that they rotate every drawing, and four or six different machines they rotate between every drawing night as well. They do not announce which ballset or machine they will use until the ticket machines are shut down prior to the drawing. FWIW I have paid VERY

Scratch Off Theories.. Fact Or Fiction?
Two thoughts here. First.. I have a friend who owns the local party store. Sells lotto and scratch offs. He says in our area (small population) he doesn't activate the $10 and $20 tickets since he says from history no one buys them.. but the state continually sends them to him. So they sit in the back room til he sends them back... possibly months. So, how many of those rolls do you think have big winners on them? He thinks the state knows he has history of not activating, so they sen

A crazy lottery story
I had an issue with a vending machine this past Saturday. I usually play the same #'s for Power ball so I will use the same play ticket a few times, well this past Saturday the machine ate my ticket. I mean I got my money back and just filled out another ticket. But I guess even though the ticket was in good condition they can maybe still feel worn out according to the machine. Now sure otherwise why it would eat it.
