Dec./Jan. Raffle Games - All Posted
I just finished updating the Event Calendar with all the raffle games for this holiday period (Dec. 2008 - Jan. 2009). I'm surprised at the number of states that are not doing a raffle this year. Personally, I love the raffle games, so I'm happy to see that N.J. kept their raffle going this year. States with holiday raffles Here is the list of states (plus Qu bec) that I have compiled raffle information for, and which are posted on the Event Calendar. Idaho (Dec. 30) Delaware (Dec.

Discovery - New PA Raffle Game Change
Just wanted to add to my last post ... I am hoping someone from the PA Lottery might read this for consideration. Maybe this change to having the raffle every 3 months will work ... still have a possible rush on tickets for October. However, if things don't work out ... but I hope the raffle can still be every 3 months with the same prize structure ... I'm thinking maybe change the raffle drawing to every 4 months ... three times a year. They would have 4 months to sell tickets instead of

Louisiana to offer raffle game
I just got this from the Louisiana Lottery. Starting in February, they are going to start a $1 million dollar raffle game. Here it is, lifed from their Email newsletter. Pennsylvania Millionaire Raffle - XXIV
Segment 8 ranges from 222000 to 262000 or 40000 tickets sold or 5700 sold per day. 11 days until the drawing. Need to sell 21000 per day to sell out, which clearly wont happen. Compared to the New Years raffle, 367000 were already sold with the same amount of days remaining, and sales were really high on New Years Eve which helped to sell out all the tickets the day before the raffle. Based on the trends, I suspect only 375,000 will sell for this raffle giving the odds of hitting a million and 1

How big is your pool?
I run two pools at my workplace. The first pool is for either Mega Millions or PowerBall, depending upon which one has the bigger jackpot. The number of players can vary because we only play when either jackpot has passed a certain threshold. We usually start playing when either game exceeds $300 million. Sometimes there can be 20 or more people in the pool, but other times there have been as few as 15 people. If you're at work, and you want to play, you're in. If you're not at work and we pl

California Raffle Drawings
Lots of people have been e-mailing me about the California raffle tickets that are being sold to them every time they buy a SuperLotto Plus ticket. Apparently, the California Lottery held the first raffle drawing on Sunday (and will continue holding a raffle drawing every Sunday until June 16th), but they have not posted the winning numbers anywhere. In fact, I contacted the California Lottery today, and they confirmed that the results will not be posted on their site until Wednesday, so t
