Which way would work best?
Speaking of residency, most states have some kind of residency law that if you are living and working in their state for a certain amount of time (30 days?) and are going to be staying there for a while, then your drivers license should reflect that. It really sounds like you are an Idaho resident, so keep yourself clean and legal and on the up and up and change your license to Idaho, get Idaho auto insurance, so on and so forth. If you really do win a sizable amount in a lottery (by sizeable

Poll: Best place for a lottery player to live
FOR FUN What's the best place for a lottery player to live? Fond Du Lac with the lucky stores? Somehwere else? * Jackpot is on the Idaho border, so a person living there could play lotto even though Nevada still doesn't have lottery. ** Luckytown was a fictional town the Missouri lottery had commercials about.

Do you go out of state just for tickets?
I don't travel out of state just to pick up Powerball tickets (I live in a MM state) but if we go to Missouri I'll buy an advanced play. When I lived in Las Vegas since there was no lottery I'd travel to a place called Nipton in California to play the California Lottery. This was way before Primm even existed. Primm probably killed off Nipton's lotto play but for a while there the lottery put Nipton on the map. Primm oput up a hotel/casoino on the Nevada side of the border, and a gas ma

Do You Ever Travel A Far Distance To Buy Lottery Tickets?
Until recently if I was in the Newjersey area, I would buy megamillions I no longer do such with the new tax law. When visiting in Nevada, I drove over to California to play SuperLotto and MegaMillions. Beleive it or not I won 56$ on the Superlotto. Had to do claim via mail and it was only two weeks til they cut and sent a check!Spent about 40$ in gas though to drive there When visiting friends in Cinci (OH), we drove to tennessee and Kentucky to play some of their games. Was fun to just t

Should the new Congress set-up a US National Lottery?
Barista Express, Well, going bywhat myturn said in the OP it seems to work in the UK. So, hire them to run it, or hire lottery people to run it. Way back when gambling became legal in Nevada, where did they go to get the people to run the casinos? snelling Snelling? Hardly. they went to places like Steubenville, Hot Springs, Saratoga, etc.... The only really big screw up in all this was when Delaware had its very short run with legalized sports betting. Instead of contacting linesmak

How to Prove Your Lottery IS Fixed?
You could be right about that: but for, my neighbor s son Sean who works in LV as a Slot maintenance tech: installs new machines, repairs, fixes, tests settings and calibrates software, all that. The way I understand it just got off the phone with Sean s dad applicable States have gaming laws that require Slot payouts not fall below a regulated threshold percentage in Nevada it s 75% see Minimum Standards for Gaming Devices - Code 14.040 - gamingNV.gov. Yes, machines can be rigged by the

If your state doesn't have a lottery...
Alaska and Wyoming get lots of revenue from natural resources. Correct me if I am wrong but I believe that not only does Alaska not have a State income tax but they actually pay there residents from oil revenues. Hawaii has alot of wealthy people who probably dont care to play the lottery and besides which state would the Hawaiians buy tickets from? Why does Nevada need a lottery? You can bet on almost anything in Lost Wages. I dont know about Utah...they may not have one for religious rea

do the lotteries have people researching systems and methods?
Most state lottery commissions have investigators similar to the Nevada Gaming Commission but their jobs are mostly to respond to instant scratch-off complaints. They also investigate incidents like the night there were over 50 winning Buckeye 5 tickets sold in Ohio. One player bought over 50 tickets on the same combination and the clerk didn't know there was a $1 million payoff limit. I don't know how much of the $1 million he got, but they did give $100,000 to the person with 1 winning ticket.

I am going to try to change the rules about annonymity...
True, but there are some loopholes that will allow for some anomymity. Many states do allow winners to claim their prizes using a trust or a corporation. Although this isn't completely anonymous, it does provide for some anomymity in that it will take more effort to find the winner's name than just looking in the newspaper. I wonder if using a corporation from somewhere like Nevada or New Mexico, which do not require the officers in a corporation be part of public record, to claim a lotte

Poll - PB & MM vs a National Lottery
Coin Toss That is not true. We only have Powerball here in NC. No state numbers game. No Pick 3, Pick 4 or Pick 5. Maybe they will come soon, and there has been mention of a Carolinas Pick 6 for NC SC. But right now, nothing. Not to mention the states that have NO lottery whatsoever like Alabama, Utah, Nevada, and probably a few others. But you are right...it is about getting rid of the two multi-state lotteries to form one national lottery here in the U.S.
