Let's Create Some Proposed Proposition Bets
If you played a number 'straight' it would pay a lot more, a +/- range of 10 would be considered playing the field and not pay near as much. Every book has a formula that x number of dollars moves the line a half a point or a point the opposite way, that's how they 'balance' the books. If the O/U for the day was 400, and money started coming in on the Over, they would adjust the line to make the under more attractive. In re; to lotteries, they would adjust the payouts probably.

New Mega Million math 75 + 15 = 6
I seriously do not think this will ever happen and here is why: Hawaii - time difference would mean the usual evening rush to purchase tickets would never happen. Plus when people visit Hawaii, the last thing most visitors would do is purchase a lottery ticket. Alaska - there exist other options to potentially get rich in Alaska, namely gold prospecting and crabbing. Also, certain Alaskans already receive a stipend from the government. Nevada - casino moguls will continue to lobby again

Would you move to a non income tax state if you won?
There are 7 states that do not impose income tax on their residents. The 7 states are: Alaska Florida Nevada South Dakota Texas Washington Wyoming If you won a jackpot of 5 million dollars or more, would you move to one of these states? You will most likely have to pay taxes from the state where you won the lottery the year you won but all your future income will not be taxed by the state. Would it be worth it to you?

online lottery
I'm a bit confused about this online play because I've read it is not illegal Welcome to the club! I played online poker and it was simply setting up an account and using a regular bank checking debit account to deposit money into the online poker account. I could withdrawn from the poker account and the money would be in my debit account in less than three days. It was a legal transfer of funds for gambling to and from U.S. banks to foreign banks until Congress passed the Unlawful Inter

Should you win either jackpot: would you hesitate to write a check to fellow forumites?
mikeintexas, I lived in Vegas and worked in the business for almost 20 years. I'd say if that lady wanted someone to help finance her trip to a casino she was on the way to being a degenerate, or at least in Vegas parlance a 'mooch'. Try this - a guy known as Lenny the Loser was playing on our table while somone was rolling a monster. One of the players is getting a nice collection of chips in his rack and Lenny folowsa him to the rest room (not knowing there are some dealers in there) and

Lamborghini made from lottery tickets [video]
LOL, thats true! I was wondering the same thing, there had to be a winner in there somewhere. Imagine standing next to the scanner checking each one? Would take months! I just got around to watching the video. Pretty trippy patterns they made with those lottery tickets. A lot of mandalas in the lost dream house I wonder if they still have their exibit up in BK, it might be interesting to take a gander. Thats why I dont play scratchers, the chances to win are so slim. However one

Lottery Code has already been broken
Says you. There was a guy years ago who cracked a code with a painting. He won like 2 or 3 JPs to prove it, yet he never revealed it because the lottery officials convinced him not to. He's passed since. It's my opinion that it doesn't matter whether the numbers stand for anything or not. In Actually they do. They stand for the physical ball at a particular game. Each game in a different state has balls that have a number stamped on them, so if the ball can talk, it would say something like t

Prayers needed
Emily, that's funny. Hang in there Rick, many prayers going up for you. To play off of emily's WTG and throw a little humor in here, a la Norman cousins, the guy who literally laughed his way out of the hospital by asking to watch comedies - One time on another board someone posted something really inaccurate and I simply responded with: I D TS meaning I Don't Think So I included thre smiley face for fun. Next thing I know I get a warning from a mod for calling the person I re

Besides the lotto what is your game of choice ?
Lottery is it for me now. If I still lived in Nevada I'd bet baseball. Baseball doesn't work on point spreads, the bets are made on a money line - say Baltimore is +1.25 against NY. There'a a way of betting called a money line parlay, if you pick the right two or three dogs (underdogs) you can get somes weet payoffs off of $10 and $15 bets. If you had three + 1.25 dogs for a $10 bet you'd get: 10 X 1.25 + = 22.50 X 1.25 = 50.62 X 1.25 = 63.28 = a total of $113.90 or $113 and down fro

Do some number combinations have better odds?
Speaking of snake oil salesmen, I hate to bust your bubble, but in Catlin's book The Truth Behind the Numbers , he says most of us don't know the nature of these games or the math behind them or, yes, how to most effectively play them . How about that, your hero thinks there is an effective way to play MM and PB too. Have you ever considered blanketing Vegas with your resume? Chapter One of Catlin's book tells of his experience of seeing a long line of lottery players purchasing Super
