Ottawa barber, client share $32M lottery win
I'd just use initials that have nothing to do with my name or anyone's name if I can, they'd would stand for something but only I would probably know since anyone else still wouldn't have a clue even if it reminded them of something that I used them for, they probably don't even remember what they stood for. It would sound like a partnership to anyone who saw the name of the trust. Damn, 35 relatives... I barely have three people I'd even considering giving a nickle to, let alone 35. I s

D.C. Lottery contract award put on hold
Washington, D.C. Mayor Adrian M. Fenty is withdrawing a controversial proposal to award a $120 million lottery contract to a start-up firm in a maneuver designed to prevent the agreement from dying in the D.C. Council. Fenty (D) will resubmit the proposal in September, when the council returns from a summer recess, interim Attorney General Peter J. Nickles said. That would be the third time Fenty asks the council to give the contract to W2I Ventures instead of extending the agreement with

Wife sues husband for share of secret lottery winnings
Hope she gets the money, and some. Florida is not a community property state, I don't think. However, I would argue that she has a share under principles of equity or joint venture or partnership. In addition, I would argue that she's entitled to ALL of the proceeds considering the husband intended to defraud her of her share and in fact absconded with all the money. That is fraud. Pay the lady!

$75M Texas Lotto jackpot claimed by business partnership
Now I can't prove this at all but...it is highly likely that this is the name of the corporation that he formed to accept the winnings. It is an interesting strategy, to accept the prize in a partnership under the umbrella of a corporation. I've done hours...days...weeks even worth of research to try to find the best way to accept a prize while minimizing tax liability and keeping anonymous. Why anyone would even give their name if you provide the name of the company (being the legal entitiy to

Lottery win is early wedding gift
I agree with both of you to a point. It's a very tough call. I was married and we always said what's mine is yours until we broke up, so I know the best intentions can wind up backfiring in your face. Since they planned a wedding before she won, I don't know if a prenuptial agreement is necessary. I mean, if they were already married and one of them earned a good living while the other was unemployed, one wouldn't charge the other rent! If she uses the money to buy a nice home, does that mea
