It's a double whammy with US State-only lottos. They have low payout percentages, at least with Powerball and Mega Millions. Then they have high taxes on the winners. Account for all the money going in from the players and out to the State, and you see how unjust US lottos are. That's what happens with all coerced monopolies, which is what all US State-only lottos are. You get ripped off with inferior coerced-monopoly products.

Actually if you don't mind the high taxes in California, Los Angeles is an excellent place for someone with hundreds of millions of dollars to live.
