That is not true like you said play 4 tickets which are 5000..so you gotta pay taxes...any single prize 5 grand or more is taxable so ofcourse you paid taxes...there is a section on florida lottery about taxes please read and understand what it says...

Which is correct tinker you only pay taxes on any 1 single prize 5000 or more...I was taught that long ago thats why I play all my pick 4 tickets. 50 cents not a dollar..it is income but its not the threshold to file taxes..if you have a job and make less then 5000 for the year you don't have to file taxes at all but the part about claiming your losses is true you can claim as much as you lose but have proof if you give a crazy number and they audit you..

Sorry DB, that's not correct. $600 to $5000 you have to pay taxes but they don't take any money out right now----over $5000 they take a percentage before they issue you the check. Either way they issue you a form W-2G that has to be filed with your taxes. In 2020 I had 15 straight Play 4 tickets that they issued me a check for 75K and I ended up paying 11K in taxes at the end of the year even after my ticket deductions. Good Luck, Chris
