Wow! When we are in Las Vegas we usually head over to AZ for tickets but I know a lot of Las Vegans head to California because no state tax. At some point I wonder if the Nevada state legislature will ignore the casino lobbies and get in on the lottery action.

When the river boat casino expansion was happening there was a lot of opposition to it.......and some of that opposition was coming from entities that operated Bingo games and thus had the only action there was. i.e.they saw their revenue threatened. It definitely doesnt matter. And no, no one has to relocate in order to claim a jackpot in any state. It's not that uncommon for people on vacation to buy a ticket in one state though living in another state (See Florida). I was just wondering how much business the store gets from Nevada.

Come on now, bet on something that has better odds. I'd add Nevada=Casinos NO lottery; Alaska and Hawaii count them out, of course good old Mississippi. The latter seems to have the same mentality for lottery sales like Alabama. BUT surprises me that they have legalized casinos there.

Game odds, point spreads, over-unders etc, for all the major sports are printed in newspapers every day. But this is illegal? Perhaps the legal gambling entities are some how behind this because they fear losing some business, IE $$$. I find it ironic that Nevada, the mecca of gambling in this country, does not have a State lottery. Obviously the gambling industry there does not want competition.
