Lotto South- Potential New Draw Days
Kentucky is losing businesssince Tennessee has started their lottery. The same will happen to neighboring states when North Carolina institutes their games. The lower-level games will continue to lose ground to the two largest games.Leaving Lotto South won't necessarily help them regain sales. Increasing the matrix definitely doesn't help a smaller state such as Kentucky. Shrinking the matrix and having more frequent jackpot winners is an approach that they haven't tried. KY and two other states formed Lotto South in 2001, seven months before MUSL started Hot Lotto. KY is the only MUSL member offering Lotto South.Neither game has expanded yet; however, North Dakota's yet-to-begin lottery is planning to sell Hot Lotto, as well as PB. (ND's lottery will be allowed to sell only multi-state games.)With Hot Lotto growing beyond its six-state base, it raises an interesting situation for KY: should the Bluegrass State stay with Lotto South, or become a true MUSL state
