Ok, this is getting
???? Everyone???? That was one person and one post and suddenly the poster is speaking for everyone??? Mega Millions is setting a new record and that record is most number of rolls before the jackpot is won. If they are going to give it away quarterly or every six months or every year then they should convert it into a raffle with 1,2, or 4 draws per year! Lucky for Life should be a raffle too because they seem to want to award only 1 jackpot per year so I don't play LFL

Those of You Giving Up Powerball
What are you playing instead? We only have one in-state game and the top prize is $52K taxes paid which works out to around $67K IIRC. Not worth a $2 bet IMHO since that isn't even a life-changing amount. So for now I'm planning on playing an extra Lucky for Life. I'm considering going over to Oregon to play their jackpot game that's worth a couple million right now. I'll continue to play Hot Lotto and Wild Card 2, but I won't increase my play on those. Will you be putting your Pow

One A Day Mega Millions, 5/24/13 ...
My boss was upset at me for being 42 minutes late for work today. He said I had better get myself a more reliable clock! As a side note I hit my first ever 4 of 5 on a single line tonight! The game was Lucky For Life (a 5/40, 1/21 game). Psyched!

What's with NY Sweet Million??
I have to pay an additonal $200 a month for the 15 yr mortgage...but with the lowered interest rate and getting rid of 8 years of payments...going from 23 yrs (time remaining on the 30 yr.) to 15 yrs...the savings is about $65 grand (even with the closing costs because the bank is returning 1% cash back each year for the life of the mortgage so that money will eventually pay for the closing costs I paid upfront)...most people don't want to pay an increased monthly payment...they want to get anot

What's with NY Sweet Million??
Good for you! I was just going to check the NY Lottery web-site for the Sweet Million numbers after I read the posts here, but now I don't have to because you posted the SM numbers and guess what? I have three numbers on two lines on my QP, one win on the $5.00 ticket and one win on the freebie! I'll take the small wins to defray the cost of playing a bit, my MM tickets will be free today! Again, no big SM winner......... I played the Ct. Lucky for Life for the first time, for

Should PB MM be tax-free/lump sum
It's not that gambling winnings are taxed. Income is taxed, except when it's exempt for some reason. Should lottery winnings be tax-exempt? Most lottery winnings are already exempt in practice, since most of the payouts are under the reporting threshold. I don't know about the rest. If I won I'd sure like it, but if the guy across the street is lucky enough to get a few million bucks I don't see much of a problem with him paying taxes on it. I do think that legitimate losses shouldn't be limi
