Bought $40 in scratch offs
Yeah when it comes to that kind of $ I've only over done a book over time. For example, not long after the new FL $50 500X the Cash game came out I played a book via one of my regular retailer guys...would do 2 to 3 tickets at a time but he kept the book aside for me so that over the course of 6 weeks or so I ended up playing all 30 tickets. With that game the minimum win is $100 and odds for a $500 are 1/48, so odds wise there's a good chance for a $500 in each book. Whelp tbh that book was one

I agree Cape. Usually the 1% retailer commission was the only motivation for the smaller lotto retailers to cash tickets. Without commissions, you are going to have to go to Publix/Winn Dixie to claim anything over $10. The only way it will change is if players make a fuss about it and stop playing (unlikely to happen). The $30 FRM and $20 Luck were on the chopping block earlier than recently posted on the Ending Games list. You had to click the hyperlink for each game on the Remaining Prizes to

How exactly are lottery scratchers numbered in CA
I did did not look to see how California does it Edit: I just looked at the examples on the California website and I am guessing that California does book number and ticket number while leaving off the game number. So yyyyyyyy-zzzz my guess is y is the book number and z is the ticket number. Otherwise if you are familiar with the way California does the numbering and you know you are correct then your retailer may have a pack of earlier tickets that have not been selling o

@Oldghost - To further clarify context for anyone who is reading/lurking...yes, good points for anyone considering playing either of those two games. By no means am I trying to assert that folks should senselessly/compulsively play these games. As you've pointed out, there are a ton of unknown variables here. I would personally rather take a shot at a $1 game or $2 game with $500k and $1M top prizes (pretaxes of course) over the typical $5k - $10k and $50k-$100k top prizes. Also, to expand o

Anyone here an Idaho Scratch off player?
Idaho has the best rate of return for any scratch-off set of games in the nation. Currently, there is a $10 ticket called Blazin Bingo that is 99.62% sold out with a single $100,000.00 top prize out there. My rough back-of-the-envelope math says that there are 1500ish tickets left out of 406,670 total tickets. I don't generally play scratchers till they are 97% sold out and in this case, I waited till they were 97.5% sold out. Now that being said I did take a couple of days off and drove around

A couple PSAs: The FL Lotto recently tweaked the retailer commission terms, and in a way that I believe is unfavorable to players. Prior to the recent changes retailers received a 5% commission on sales and 1% on paying out winning tickets (claims). They now get 5.75% on sales and 0.0% on claims. So everything else being equal that's minus 0.25% commission, and difficult to tell impact to retailers since of course only a fraction of tickets are winners. On the player side this I think will l

"SuperBowl Pool" of Florida scrtach-offs
Hi... I'm new to Florida and new to this thread. Where I lived in the past, I did something that I'm considering doing here in Florida. I bought an entire book of scratch-offs (unopened, still sealed in the cellophane wrapper) and then I ran what I'd call a SuperBowl Pool by selling 100 squares in a 10 X 10 grid. As best I can recall, I sold each square for $5. (I did this so long ago that I forgot how I did it) Selling each square for $5 got me a total of $500, which paid me back for the bo

Texas Bonus Cashword $3 another beatable game
This crossword game gives you 22 different letters. So you get every letter except 4. Also you only need 3 words to win out of 20-22 words. I saw a ticket tonight that could be seen as a guaranteed winner even without being scratched. I wish it was easier to post photos here. But there were no 4 letters that would eliminate all the words except 2. I realize it's not really possible to get a look at the tickets without buying them unless you work at a retailer but this game is so eas
