There should be a law against scratching in the store
Sounds like a good idea to me. I usually just grab a few and take them home, but sometimes I scratch them in the store. Take today for example. I bought a $20 Maximum Green and it lost. I purchased another ant it won a ticket. The numbers were going down: 005 lost, and 004 won a free ticket, so statistically speaking even if there was a $100 winner in there, the best I could have hoped for would been still losing $20, assuming it was the last ticket in the roll, and it was $100, but who knows, s

Massachusetts $20 scratcher.
MA has the best lottery in the country from what I read (as far as revs are concerned). They did lower the prize money % when the Republicans took over the lottery. However, MA taxes haven't been super high in years. Compare: CA - 9.3% on taxable income of $43,468 and above. California's minimum combined state, county and local sales and use tax increased to 7.25 percent (6.25 state-only portion) MA - A 5.3% rate that applies to wages, interest and dividends and long-term capital ga

Florida Scratch Offs - Post Pictures if posible
Well. Its over. They are all scratched and the dust has settled. I am not overly thrilled with the outcome, but it could have gone much worse. That $1,000 winner was the only one of that amount. Nothing larger appeared. So... In all of the tickets/books the breakdown of winners goes something like this. +/- ... $1,000x1 $500x1 $200x2 $100x18 $50x 13 $40x15 $30x10 $25 and $20 = TONS. I dont even know how many. Total amount spent. $19,000 Total return - $13

MattfromPA If you look on page 772 I give a break down of that pack of peppermint payouts that whooped me one day after a $500 win on the SuperCash ticket. I wound up playing 000-018 of a new roll of Peppermint Payout (except ticket 4) and took a huge beating. I know ticket 4 was a loser though. I played something like $360 worth of those tickets in a row and wound up winning $170 I think. So I crunched some numbers and it seems that I did pretty good in 2014. I k

NC Scratch Offs... $20 Tickets seem to be the Best Bet.
The Odds are interesting... You can view all the information on the 200 Million Blowout ticket here... http://www.nc-educationlottery.org/instant_detail.aspx?gn=413 As you can see the $200 Million Blowout ticket has odds of 1 in 3.01. So to answer your question, 1 in 3 chances of winning means you should win at least a Break Even Ticket (your $20 back in your pocket) on every 3rd ticket. HOWEVER... This is not how the tickets are arranged or printed in the book of tickets... There could

Any GA players?
I was certain that I had won $300,000 on $3,000,000 Taxes paid, but it was a tiny piece of scratch-off dust that made it look like I had won the $300K. I was all shaky and called my wife and she was like no way, and I swore it was true. then i wiped the card a little cleaner, and it was the wrong number. It did win a free ticket though. Maximum Green has had about 4 of the 6 $5,000,000 prizes paid out, so there is still some life left in it. Galottery.com has winners posted in there, but they

Biggest letdown in lottery history - what's yours?
Here comes a free book. Enjoy. We go on vacationing Florida when we can. We like Destin, but the 30A area is just about our favorite mainland destination. We are most likely to go 75 south to Cordele, GA, then we usually end up on the Georgia Florida Parkway and 300. Also HWY 98 and 30A. If we go to Destin, we usually go down75 South to 85 to 185 to 231 and 331, west on I-10, a little bit of HWY 20 then finally across the toll bridge to 98, but our favorite destination is a small sparsely pop

Have you ever wondered why many lottery retailers are owned by members of certain racial minorities?
That is fine, and I can certainly understand you not wanting to get into a debate about these issues, but I will respond to what you wrote. You believe in a strong social safety net. Who is supposed to pay for that? I think that has already existed in nature for all of history, through all civilizations. It is called family support, and after that if you somehow have no family, there are churches, charities and so forth. There is food stamps, unemployment, welfare, free or low cost clinics, t

Ending Georgia Instant Games
Just for fun, I will include the best chances of winning a certain dollar amount, for each price point. This list is by no means all-inclusive. I have arbitrarily decided to list the tickets within the approximate range of half of the odds to twice the odds, as it compares to Jack-O-Lantern Cash odds of 1 in 4,800 when I won $100 on that game. That means odds of roughly 2,400 to 9,600, but I allowed a little leeway. As I have beaten those odds, it makes me hopeful what I may win, especially on t
